Koongs Restaurant
103 N Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
Large portion sizes. It seems like its catered for customers that dont want anything too seasoned. An example is that they allow you to choose how much of the sauce for the honey walnut prawns you want to add. Another example is that most dishes I had from fried rice to noodles didnt seem flavorful (compared to other chinese restaurants in the bay). This is something that can be easily fixed at home with some salt and pepper, but not sure how it is if you dine in.Overall, a 4 star for taste, but Id still recommend this for those who prefer a ligher palette since they offer generous portion sizes.

Special Noodle

Interesting decor for a Chinese restaurant. It’s like we ended up in some tex-mex place or a western karaoke bar. Decor aside, it is a Chinese restaurant.I love the convenience of ordering with an iPad and every item has a picture. Price is reasonable and service is excellent.Food is good, decent, okThe knife shaved noodle was not what I expected.I was expecting the noodle to be something QQ and shaved off a ball of dough. It was shaped more like pho, but of flour and not rice.I think their house special is fried bun (生煎包). It was a mixed bag. The filling was tasty and juicy with delicious soup. The dough was ok. Didn’t stand out. The bottom, the fried part, was way too crunchy and greasy. Fried in too much oil. Tasted like extra crunchy greasy dough.Noodles were good. Not great. Soupy-est dan dan mien and a chili like sauce. My favorite dishes were the crunchy cucumber appetizer and the steamed osmanthus cake. The steamed cake was a great palate cleanser after a bunch of spicy dishes. It had a nice QQ texture, mild flavor, just a little bit of sugar. Not a hint of osmanthus, whatever that taste like.If I want a good noodle dish or good 包, this place would not come to mind.
QQ Noodle

Food was average and too expensive especially the super small appetizer costed $8, which had merely anything in there. Soup base was blank. The worst thing was they took $100 cash from us for the bill of $86 and DID NOT give us any changes back. . I left $100, the guy took the money and never give changes back upon our leaving. If you take the payment, you shall give changes and let customer decide if he/she wants to tip or not. But what they did was forcing us to tip and left us no other choice. Maybe I dont want to tip you $14 for your poor service! I was going to tip but after what they did by forcing, I didnt want to tip them at all. What they did was wrong! It was unethical and sneaky. We will never eat here again! Too many choices around why paying $100 for mediocre noodle soup.
Lucky Dumpling

Weve been here several times before (8 times now to be exact) since they opened their doors and each time, weve been impressed with the quality of the food they put out as well as the taste of each dish. However, this visit was dissappointing. This was Sunday Feb 5, 2023, there were 4 of us for lunch. We ordered the beef noodle soup, green onion pancake, spicy beef tendon, beef wrap, spicy wontons, and pan-fried dumplings (pork, shrimp and chives). The green onion pancake and the beef wrap were very good. The pancake came out hot and crispy outside and flake and tender inside and it did not eat greasy nor oily at all. This has been consistent with them from the begining. The beef wrap was also very similar to the green onion pancake. The wrap was perfect and the combo with the beef, cilantro and cucumber gave you a great eating experience with not just the taste but the freshness of the herbs and the crunch of the cucumbers. We also enjoyed the pan-fried dumpling. Still tasted very nice and the bottom was fried to a nice golden brown. We just wished it didnt take 25 minutes for it to come out.The beef noodle soup was dissappointing. The recipe has changed. The spices were lost and muddled and there was a cloying sweetness that was very unpleasant. The spicy tendon is a staple that I love ordering here. However, this time the texture was not pleasant. It was definitely not cooked long enough. It required lots of work to eat this dish and after only a few pieces I quickly stopped eating it because my jaw had to work so hard to crunch it down. The spicy wontons were a disappointment as well, the flavor of the wontons was very nice however the spicy sauce that it was in looked more like a chunky condiment than a sauce that you would expect wontons to float in.Im hoping they were just understaffed or this experience was just a one-of those things that happen to all of us.I will try again soon and will update as I do.

The BBQ size is surprisingly small, while tastes OK.The Hongliu BBQ tastes good, but the stick made by Hongliu looks very dirty. It seems to be reused, how can they make it clean? The noodle is actually rice noodle, the dish name is misleading, it tastes badly sweet, which it is far from what we expect. The sliced potato tastes badly sweet. Though the restaurant is filled with Chinese, and everyone speaks Maderin but the tastes like US flavor.
YGF Malatang

I recently dined at a fantastic Chinese restaurant that specializes in mala tang, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The aroma of the spices filled the air as I entered, instantly whetting my appetite. The mala tang was simply outstanding, with a perfect balance of numbing Sichuan peppercorns and fiery chili peppers. Each bite was a burst of flavors, complemented by the freshest ingredients and a variety of meats, vegetables, and noodles to choose from. The service was prompt and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. If youre a fan of spicy cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Asian Bowl
790 E Tasman Dr, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
We visited this place last Friday. We ordered Manchurian Sizzler, Malaysian Roti Prata,Passion Fruit Lemonade and Hazelnut Bliss. This place has good ambience and was not too crowded. The Malaysian Roti Prata was fresh, flaky and sauce was flavourful.Passion Fruit Lemonade was very refreshing and had real passion fruit pulp in it.The Hazelnut Bliss(Vietnamese Coffee) had a nice taste and we loved the flavor of the coffee. The Manchurian sizzler plate had Spring Rolls instead of fries(because they were out of fries). The spring rolls were crispy and tasty. The Veg Manchurian balls were crispy and had good taste. Fried rice and Noodles were a little bland but when combined with the sauce given both tasted very delicious. Everything was very tasty overall. But I think for 18$ the quantity was a little less(probably because of inflation, cant blame them). The fact that this place is fully vegetarian and all the dishes we ordered were flavourful, would make us go back to this place again to try out some more dishes. Best Indo Chinese food in Bay area.
Pinoy Bbq ATBP
10 S Abbott Ave, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
Initially we drove to our favorite Filipino restaurant but unfortunately it was closed. But we still had a huge craving to satisfy. So we drove a few more minutes to Pinoy BBQ ATBP for the first time.We arrived @ 1130 on a weekday and already there was a line out the door, which is always a good sign. Its a fast food style restaurant with an entire wall adorned with Manny Pacquiao paraphernalia. There are 2 small tables to dine in. But we took out orders to go. We ordered lechon kawali, beef caldereta and pancit. The lechon was tender and juicy. The caldereta was the best Ive ever tasted! The beef was tender and the sauce was the best. It had so much flavor. ?The pancit noodles were stir- fried perfectly and had a good ratio of veggies and strips of pork. The staff were pleasant and helpful. For example, we were told the lechon would be ready in a few minutes so we waited outside. One of the employees handed us our order, instead of waiting for us to come back in. Even though there was a line. This was a great find and the food was delicious!Maraming Salamat Po!
