Pagoda Chinese & Thai Food
100 W Imperial Ave suite i, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
Chinese and Thai takeout. Friendly guy serving. Limited basic seating, its not a restaurant (think more Panda Express) so the 5-stars Im giving are just for food, price and service over venue. We had the Chicken Pad Thai, it was delicious and large portion size. $13 after tax but enough for 2 or 3 lunches.
Northern Cafe El Segundo
700 S Allied Way ste a, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
There arent that many authentic (Panda Express doesnt count, but they are still pretty good) Chinese restaurant within 4 miles from where I live until I saw Northern Cafe had just opened a new branch in El Segundo, I didnt think about it and just decided to have my dinner there. The place has pleasant lighting, it is spacious and also very cozy. Customer service are great! Bathroom was also clean. Now, lets get started with what you all came here to read, the food (duh~!) ?- Chicken Wings ?: These are great, crispy, juicy, seasoning was spot on, I wish I had ordered more of this. Honestly, I would be content with just a bowl of white rice and 2 orders of these awesome wings!- Szechuan Dan Dan Noodle?: It can be a little spicy (think Killer noodle) for some of you. But I promise, if you persevere long enough with Chinese spicy food, it would open your world to endless variations of Chinese dishes (Yes, I am bribing you!) ?.- Boiling point-ish: Not bad, but nothing to rave about. Not to mention they dont actually give you fire for this, so your food would get cold very quickly.Spicy Beef?️?: This is probably my favorite dish of the day. Juicy, tender chewy and has that authentic Szechuan spice flavor to it! I highly recommend this if you can take spice!White Garlic Broccoli ??: The broccoli are really fresh but I think they are a little too salty for my taste. The pricing was reasonable and they are open till 9, which is great. Overall I would recommend this restaurant if you live near El Segundo and dont want to drive to Gardena for Chinese food. ??

Express Chinese Food
630 S Sepulveda Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
We were desperate for quick bite. I have to say we never would have eaten at a place like this with the name Express Chinese Food. Walking by and saw the chef cooking up a storm with high heat. Clean with an A inspection report on the door. Why not give it a try. The shrimp dishes were generous and authentic. Quality and taste equivalent to top shelf Chinese restaurant at half the price. What a surprise and would definitely make time next time before going to LAX (terminal food sucks).

Panda Express
2150 E El Segundo Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
Im giving a tentative 5 stars as the food was excellent when it first opened and lately. However there was a period where whoever they had on the wok was not getting it hot enough and everything was a steamed overcooked mess. Lately theyve been using a hot wok and food has been awesome so 5 stars.... For now
China Bowl Express

I hear Chinese restaurants usually have a bad reputation but this is worth trying. I come here often. They gave me too little meat a couple of times but they usually give a proportional amount and plenty of food. Price is similar to Panda Express but I like coming here because its quick service.

We went here for dinner as it was the closest place to us, and we wanted to try.Upon entering we were greeted and seated in a very friendly manner. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, incredibly authentic. We ordered the Japanese Potato Curry, Chirashi Bowl, Yellowtail Maki, and a Bento Box. Along with green tea.It took a bit to get our food, but it was worth it.All were delicious and incredibly flavorful. The sushi was fresh and wonderfully prepared. The decorstion was lovely as well. The curry was perfectly flavored, but not too much. The tempura was amazing and not too fried. All rolls were delicious. We truly enjoyed our time here and couldnt reccomend it more. The entire experience was amazing!
The Slice & Pint
130 W Grand Ave, El Segundo, CA 90245, United States
I just had one of the most confusing experiences at this restaurant. My family and I arrived and were pleasantly greeted by the staff. I mentioned we had a very hungry toddler and ordered a slice of pizza for her (on top of a bigger order) in hopes of a faster delivery to the table. Without even stressing it to them, the staff was SUPER kind and delivered it almost immediately. My child is an INCREDIBLY picky eater and gobbled it down QUICKLY.Although, our reason for a family gathering was due to our youngest brothers VERY unexpected passing we were really happy to have really wonderful service and food to regroup before departure back to New York. The problem begins when Im leaving the bathroom area near the water area. A middle aged woman with dark hair approached me hastily from behind, telling me to move out of the way, pushing me forward as I was walking through a small cramped space. I turned around very confused and she verbally accosted me, and reactively I did the same thing back!! (mainly out of shock). After she walked out the restaurant door I assumed it would be the last I see of this crazy woman, but she turned right back around and came inside moments later. She seemed to be fuming glaring at me and my family sitting.in the far right corner sway from all of the other tables.I cant say at all what the problem was, but since I was scared of her and her actions I alerted the counter staff of the situation, and they were WONDERFUL in the response. As I left the restaurant with my 2 year old child the woman and her two friends were hollering and laughing at me loudly through the window, and my sister in law decided to finally say something to them about ruining our meal. The manager stepped in at this point, but only to the defense of the women making a spectacle. It really felt like these women were possibly high and also just friends of management, with no fear of any repercussions. The owner or manager came out attempting to defend them or defuse the situation. He asked if they should be kicked out ?? I dont see why you wouldnt kick them out, but we opted to leave rather than endure the chaos for no reason. We were not even seated anywhere near each other and I alerted the staff right after the initial interaction.I feel ridiculous even posting this because it felt like an UNREAL interaction...The woman at the front with half blonde and half black hair was an absolute hero to my toddler, and angel through the evening.So... I guess Im not totally sure I would return based on the Managements response, but the front staff was lovely and the food was quite delicious.
