Can a food business be appraised by trying only one item? According to Winnepeg Taylor, a talented but unknown Chef, yes. Very much so. Aside from soda machines and fortune cookies, each item in the menu stands alone at the end of the day. Cathay Chinese Food was busy at approximately 4:30 PM on this warm Saturday in Menifee, CA. The food on display, served combination style, a la Panda Express, looked breaded, mostly sweet coated, and no different than any similar type, where the customer requests their preference, and in this case two lovely servers of the female persuasion, non oriental, served what appeared generous amounts of the available choices. It is a well known fact that Chinese places of this kind, sweeten most of their entrees, where savory dishes are far and few in between. There is a definite appeal to the American public for all things sweet: Sweet and Sour Pork, Orange Chicken, BBQ Pork, etc., and of course the fried part. According to the statistics Chinese food beats all the McDonalds, Burger Kings and Taco Bells combined, with over 40,000 Chinese eateries in the USA.I ordered Egg Rolls, Vegetables and the little more fatter and expensive, Chicken. Yes, that was it, to the tune of $12 plus. First, the chicken had barely any chicken, and frankly tasted mediocrely, and the vegetable was even worst. 2 Stars at most. Service and cleanliness earned the last star.

Was extremely excited when China bros first opened up because theres not a lot of good Chinese restaurants in California. Im from the east coast and are used to having Chinese restaurants sell not only Chinese cuisine but American as well. However, lately the China Bros has gone down in quality and for the prices they are charging. The food is starting to become disappointing.

The customer service was terrible, I understand that the restaurant just opened and they're still getting things to run smoothly but they were very rude to my family and I. We were very excited to have a sushi/ramen spot in our neighborhood and we wanted to like it so that we would have a go-to spot in town. We ordered over $100 dollars worth of food because we wanted to try everything, we got there around 6pm and tried to order a dinner bento box and the lady taking our order told us it isn't dinner time, I was confused and asked her what time they do dinner then and she said right now but it's actually due to the fact that they ran out of the items. That's fine but they communicated in a odd way, then my sister tried to order a sushi roll and in the menu it stated that it had avocado in it and my sister asked for it to be put on the side, the owner I'm assuming came by and argued with my sister saying it doesn't come with avocado and she will charge us extra. This became a huge deal and by the end of it my sister showed them their own menu and pointed at the avocado listed, they didn't apologize and gave us a dirty look instead. When we were done ordering they did not give me an order number when I asked so when they called out my number I didn't know it was me and they looked at me like “hello this is yours” in a rude way again. We had so much food and when I asked for napkins and utensils they did not want to give it and I then had to say that we need it because we will be sharing food and eating outside. We also ordered ramen and they did not give us a spoon. Needless to say, we will not be returning. The food was not bad but it was definitely not worth the service we received.
