Everything Ive eaten here is delicious! Top quality food, the best Chinese in Santa Cruz--I havent tried ALL of the restaurants but I have tried a LOT of them and their food all pales in comparison for sure. They make the best chicken fried rice Ive ever eaten, and I highly recommend the Sizzling Clay Pot of Peppered Chicken with Chefs Sauce....it makes my mouth water just thinking about it! A nicely decorated and very clean place, always a plus.

I recently visited Canton Restaurant with my family, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Sarah, greeted us with a warm welcome and ensured we felt right at home. The service was impeccable, and Sarahs kindness and friendliness made our dining experience truly memorable. Despite a busy evening with a large group, the kitchen managed to deliver our food promptly, and it was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was delicious and perfectly prepared.The price was more than reasonable considering the amazing service and high quality of the food. I cant recommend Canton Restaurant enough; its a must-visit for anyone looking for fantastic Chinese cuisine and exceptional service in Santa Cruz.

Ordered :Chicken chow mein + fried rice lunch special - 5/5. Awesome dish, but fried rice by default is pork fried rice. They were very accommodating in switching this to chicken fried rice especially after it had been served.Kung Pao Chicken - 5/5. Very flavorful, next time order it spicy.Vegetable Chow Fun (Gluten free, Vegan) - 5/5. The best gluten free chow fun I have had. Most other gluten free chow fun are flavorless due to no soy sauce, but this one was just amazing and tasty.Will Order Again - 5/5 . Definitely, this is my go to chinese place in Santa Cruz and I plan to visit this place everytime i am in Santa CruzA great, family run chinese place that has its own touch to all the dishes. My favorite chinese restaurant now and I plan to try every dish I can eat at this place.

I dont quite understand when a guy sitting next to us and told his family this is the best restaurant at Santa Cruz. It is true that theres some lack of good dining options at Santa Cruz but this place is far away from the best at any perspective.(P.S. Based on the reply from the restaurant owner in below, as expected, such a typical Chinese restaurant owner, a narrow-minded operator, cannot stand any objections and non-five-star reviews.) Be careful with other reviews, have to question whether they are authentic or they are paid to review nicely.Reply to the owner: thank you for pointing out, I forgot to mention that, your food is never cheap, compared to the quality that you present. You are shaming yourself when comparing to a Michelin starred standard. Mopping your floor first before talking about food. Also, kind advice: please practice your grammar in case that you would like to defend yourself against other critical reviews.Food: admittedly, the food is never Panda Express style. But you can easily find a dozens of places with better Chinese food in Santa Clara.Service: the service is not poor but lets say it barely exists. The floor is pretty slippery with thick oil --- that is a must-have and fit the checkbox of an authentic Chinese restaurant.Atmosphere: I find one reason that many non-Asians are attracted to this place is because they indeed paid attention to tableware. BUT, AGAIN, the cleanness is another story, which they should pay more attention to.Value: definitely not cheap, you should expect $30-50 per person.

Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Santa Cruz and possibly Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterrey counties, at least in my opinion. The food is always exceptional, the staff and service is always very pleasant, and the overall efficiency is top notch. Highly, highly recommended!

Great service and good food. They can be a little busy sometimes which slows them down significantly. A couple items are a total miss, but everything else makes up for it. My favorite place to turn to for Chinese food in Santa Cruz.The only caution Id give is to be a bit careful during busy times. Ive seen them at their worst when theyre inundated with orders and people in the restaurant. The oppressive rush often causes the cook to miss some items and can make for a noticeable drop in the quality of the food.
