Its fine. I just dont like that, like many Japanese restaurants they serve the miso soup first. I keep forgetting to say, bring it with the meal.
Akashiro Nikkei Sushi Peruvian Japanese

This place was absolutely amazing. A delicious new take on sushi that you don't even realize the twist, just the amazing taste. The staff was genuine, the decor simple yet elegant. Love the ingredients they use, fresh and unique. Love that they don't use that nasty imitation krab meat in any of there roles. Do yourself, your taste buds, and your date a favor and go eat at this restaurant. Dishes we had that were all out of this world: pulpo olivo, blue nikkei nigiri, striped bass nikkei nigiri, Parmesan roll, parri roll, and chutoro roll, and the yukka fries.
Chomp Sushi

We were a big group, whatever it means for American standard so 20perc were added to the bill, even though two members waited forever for their meals to be served while the rest of us finished our diner already. We were told the restaurant was full while it wasnt even half full, and why could the chef prepare food for 5 already and leave out 2?Anyhow, the food was freshly prepared and tasted nice. Not the typical Japanese clean style but Americanised with lots or sauces coming with the rolls that filled us up quickly.Nice diner, even though there are a few mishaps. The bill would be reasonable, but with the extra 20perc charge of a big group when the kitchen screwed up, didnt feel fair!
SUSHI POP
1105 S Euclid St, Fullerton, CA 92832, United States
Since MJ (Not Michael Jackson or Michael Jordan as he likes to say - but Min Jin) felt compelled to solicit my review twice during our meal, here it is.+ Seared Salmon (Had a really good creamy sauce)+ Cuts fish as its ordered and not precut+ Honest menu, Escolar is labeled Escolar and not disguised as Ono or White Tuna+ Good fish to rice ratio- Ikura is 1 order per person even though everywhere else has it on the AYCE menu (ok tasting ikura by AYCE standards)- Drinks were constantly empty- Empty plates were constantly left at table and not taken away- The complimentary dessert others have mentioned was not complimentary and required multiple reviews- Servers were not attentive even though restaurant was close to empty- Server solicited our reviews not once but twiceOur party of 5 arrived at Sushi Pop at 12:30 for lunch. The place only had 3 other tables with 2 servers running around. The orders came out fast and the food was on par with any other AYCE sushi restaurant. Where this restaurant really screws up is their servers and their managements strategy for soliciting reviews for yelp. From the get go MJ was not very attentive and felt distracted by something else. As the food was coming out and we were finishing up the food on the table, the plates were just left there. Even when the runners/server brought the food they just looked at us to make room. We stacked the empty plates for them, they plop the food down and walk away leaving the empty plates. We had to asked them to take the plates. There was not one time the server had filled our water without us flagging him down, which was difficult to do. Im not expecting incredible service when coming to an AYCE but the basics of busing the tables and filling my empty drinks seems to be required. When MJ would drop by, he would give us his spiel about his name, make small talk and then give us a story about how he could help us out and give us free dessert. We first would have to write a review on yelp and show him. Very awkward conversation and transaction but one of us reluctantly obliged given the awkward position we were placed in. After enjoying our meal some more and some time later MJ comes back and informs us that the manager wouldnt be able to give us all free dessert (1 scoop of ice cream), he was only going to be able to give us 3 but the in order for us to get the other 2 we would have to write another review and show him. We refused but he insisted. Again, very awkward and unwanted solicitation when were paying customers enjoying a meal.At the end they did give us 3 scoops for our one review, three small scoops of ice cream in one glass with ice cubes and whip cream. Picture below. The rise of businesses soliciting reviews really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Especially when its the server coming up to your table and try to sell you on writing a review - think people showing up at your door trying to sell you something... except youre a paying customer and shouldnt have to deal with this.Business owner: If you have good food and good service youll get good reviews. Have your servers focus on their jobs instead of focusing on soliciting reviews the entire meal. In a time where AYCE Sushi has become a dime a dozen you want to stand out and be different, unfortunately youve stood out in the worst possible way.

Unassuming but surprisingly good at making Japanese cuisine. I love their tonkatsu. Very affordable as many other Japanese restaurants are really expensive.

So my wife has ordered from here in the past and its pretty good. Today we went in for lunch and it was great. They have a promo deal of buy one get one half off for specialty rolls and if you spend 50 bucks you spin a prize wheel. This brought us in, but the food was great and will make us come back. I am not a sushi guy so the bento was a grip of food and filled me up. The wife got two specialty rolls and won a hand roll. Some gyoza and a beer it was a great start to the weekend. 5 stars will come back and bring others. Give it a shot, its really good!
Sushi Bomb
100 S Harbor Blvd D, Fullerton, CA 92832, United States
If i could rate zero stars i would. i was denied access over a year ago due to my medical response service dog. staff refused to seat us indoors, despite stating many times my family did not want to sit outside because of how cold it was (it was the middle of winter). i refused to eat here for over a year, until i began working across the street and began ordering takeout. staff had zero issue with me entering the restaurant with my service dog to order, wait for, and pickup my food. i THOUGHT the issue was resolved. today i returned with two friends, one of which also has a medical response service dog, to dine in. we were immediately told we could only be seated outside— in the cold while it was actively raining. we made it clear we did not want to sit outside, and it was illegal to refuse us a table inside. we explained the federal law and even read them the Americans With Disabilities Act when they claimed “allergies” were the reason they didn't want to seat us inside (which the ADA clearly states is NOT a valid reason to segregate or deny a service dog). at this point the owner came out refusing to seat us inside and we were told if we didn't leave he would call the police. we told him to do so and we were happy to wait for them to arrive, as HE was the one violating federal law. he told us they were on their way and we waited another 20 or so minutes. they never came. the owner stood across the restaurant watching us the entire time we waited. whether the cops were actually called or not or even coming i have no idea, but the amount of time we were standing inside the restaurant waiting to resolve this issue, we could've literally eaten and been on our way. other guests entered the restaurant and were quickly seated while we were ignored and left waiting. i am absolutely disgusted by the way the owner spoke to and treated two young disabled women who simply wanted to dine in his restaurant. i had eaten in this restaurant TWICE prior to my first access issue, accompanied by my perfectly trained service dog, and had zero issues. my guess is the owner was not in these times, as both instances where he was in i was treated with blatant disrespect. we were blatantly denied access to dine inside of this restaurant due to our MEDICAL EQUIPMENT. by law, service dogs are recognized the exact same way any other medical equipment is. so in the eyes of the law, this owner essentially denied two guests a table because they had wheelchairs or oxygen tanks. this is a FEDERAL crime and the ADA hotline will be contacted. if twice now i myself have been treated this way i highly doubt im the only team who has had this issue and it will not be tolerated.
J SAN RAMEN FULLERTON
1309 S Harbor Blvd, Fullerton, CA 92832, United States
When you eat a lot of ramen, there are certain things that you come to expect - buttery soft chashu is one of them. Its sad to say, you will not find it here. At least not on this night. The pork was firm to the tooth, and a bit too salty for my taste. Perhaps they let it cook too long. In fact, I didnt even finish the two pieces that they provided. The miso broth (they offer spicy, or not. I chose the not) was flavorful. The noodles were thin (I pulled some up to show you in my image). I prefer thick curly noodles, but these were perfectly cooked and were more than acceptable. And they include half an egg, which many places make you pay for.Three stars may be a bit harsh, but if you have more than four in your party, you will be crowded, or stuck with a table on the end of your booth for four. Or squeezed together on your booth bench. Spartan is a generous description of the interior. Five bare wooden booths with a thin cushion on the seat and a couple small tables for two. I may have caught them on an off night, but I dont think Ill be back.
Teriyaki Express
2433 E Orangethorpe Ave, Fullerton, CA 92831, United States
Ive been a regular at Teriyaki Express in Fullerton, CA, for a while now, and I must say its one of my go-to spots for a quick sushi bite. Dont be fooled by its fast food ambiance; the quality of the meals here is always top-notch. Ive yet to experience a disappointing meal here and that, in itself, is quite an accomplishment! On this particular visit, I ordered the Dragon Roll. As with my previous experiences, the staff was amiable and the service was brisk. The order was up in no time, and the portions were impressive, definitely providing a bang for your buck. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The sushi was beautifully prepared, with each piece tasting as delicious as it looked. The balance of flavors and textures was just perfect, making every morsel enjoyable. My only grief is that I dont live or work close enough to swing by more frequently. But whenever Im in the area, I make it a point to stop by Teriyaki Express. Its a little gem in Fullerton that offers quality sushi thats quick, convenient, and oh-so-tasty!So, if you find yourself in Fullerton with a sushi craving, do give Teriyaki Express a try. It might not have the ambiance of a traditional sushi restaurant, but it more than makes up for it with its quick service, friendly staff, and delicious food. Definitely worth the detour!
