Ultramen Japanese Restaurant Sushi & Ramen
159 E Imperial Hwy, La Habra, CA 90631, United States
To start, we immediately noticed something was off because the restaurant is supposed to be Japanese but the owner was Korean, and the lanterns hung up said “ramen” in Chinese (拉麵 lamian), not Japanese (羅麺 or ラーメン). I’m aware that just because someone is Korean does not mean they don’t do a different food well (ex. many sushi restaurants are owned by Koreans and they’re amazing), but the other factors just made the restaurant seem like it was thrown together assuming Americans wouldn’t notice because we don’t know any better. That aside, the second red flag is that the menu has soooo many fusion items. Sushi tacos, sushi burritos, to name a few. It was a big read flag but we decided to still give the restaurant a shot.Honestly, the food is pretty whack. We ordered tonkotsu ramen, spicy miso ramen, egg rolls, and gyoza. The tonkotsu ramen tasted like it’s heated from a pack. The noodles were good but the broth was very basic with much to be desired. It was okay. Definitely nothing to write home about and not worth coming back for.The spicy miso ramen tasted like they got the tonkotsu broth, and added a gochujang/miso mixture to it… it was really not good at all and I didn’t even finish it.The eggrolls were free and tasted like they were from Dollar Tree (which may explain why they’re free if you check in on Yelp). They taste exactly like the ones from Panda Express, if you know those. The gyoza was probably the best part of the meal but that isn’t saying much. The filling was actually very good, and you could taste the ginger. The weird thing is that they don’t offer it to be deep fried or pan fried… it only comes deep fried. This gives the exterior a hard texture that isn’t super desirable when it comes to gyoza.Soooo… to put it shortly, I don’t think I could ever truly recommend this place to anyone. They would do a lot better if they tried to specialize really well into one thing instead of trying to have a ton of things but not really anything actually good. Also, if they’re gonna be a Japanese restaurant… be a Japanese restaurant. Don’t have lanterns written in Chinese ?
Miyako Japanese Restaurant
1210 W Imperial Hwy suite e, La Habra, CA 90631, United States
I really wanted to eat sushi, but I didnt want to submit, so I looked for a place where I could dine in on the patio and went there. I went to a place 30 minutes away from my house, and I didnt regret it at all. The tables were not in the parking lot, but to the side of the restaurant, so I had fun without worrying about smoke and dust. I was able to eat! I ordered special roe rice, sushi set, udon, and spicy tuna hand roll, and it was so delicious that I was full of it. The people working there were all very friendly, so I had a good time eating it. I think the sushi tastes better when you go to a restaurant rather than eating it.Went with a couple of friends yesterday, Miyako had a really nice outside seating sectioned off to a side of their restaurant! There were cute little wood panels between some tables which provided privacy, outside heaters and hand sanitizer on each table. Outside seating was set up so nicely! ❤️ The food was SOOOO amazing, we ordered some nigiri platter, udon, volcano roll and spicy tuna handrolls. Everything tasted amazing and the staff were so nice. Definitely coming back for some great sushi!

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Great variety of menu options, but I wasnt a fan of the ambiance/vibe. There wasnt a wow-factor for me to come back.AMBIANCE: Noise level was loud. More of a family restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating (with heat lamps).DRESS CODE: CasualMENU OPTIONS:- variety of appetizers, sushi, sashimi, rolls, cooked food (both Japanese and Peruvian), beer, sake, wine, juices- Kids menu/options available- wasnt a fan of the options of rolls offered. most of the rolls had tempura or avocado, or cream cheese (seems too Americanized rather than Japanese or Peruvian)... I wish there were more options that included fish.ORDERED:- Crispy Spicy Tuna- Yellowtail Collar- Ceviche Halibut- Peruvian Roll- Fresh Scallop Sushi- Spicy Scallop Handroll- Salmon and Uni Sushi- Quality of fish was fresh and good, but still didnt have that wow factor to want to come backSERVICE: Service was good.PRICE: ~ $70pp (depending on how much food and alcohol you order)PARKING: Located in a shopping center, so plenty of parking!Food: 3/5 starsService: 4/5 starsVenue/Ambiance: 2/5
Arigatto Sushi
660 N Beach Blvd, La Habra, CA 90631, United States
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the all-you-can-eat option at Arigatto Sushi, and let me tell you, it was an indulgent feast for the senses. While the prices were slightly on the higher side for sushi, the value you receive is truly worth it if you arrive with a hearty appetite. As I delved into the culinary delights they offered, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the consistently high quality of their offerings.Every bite of sushi I ordered was a true delight. The expert chefs at Arigatto Sushi certainly know their craft, effortlessly crafting delectable rolls that showcased the freshness and skill that goes into their creations. From traditional favorites like California rolls to more adventurous combinations, each piece was a perfect balance of flavors and textures.Aside from the exceptional food, Arigatto Sushi also provided a warm and inviting atmosphere. I gathered with a group of friends, and we spent a delightful evening indulging in great food, engaging conversations, and shared laughter. The interior of the restaurant exuded a cool and clean ambiance, contributing to a memorable dining experience. However, I must note that the service at Arigatto Sushi was decent but not exceptional. There was a noticeable wait to be seated, and during our meal, the staff didn't check in on us frequently. Nevertheless, the outstanding quality of the food overshadowed this minor inconvenience, leaving us completely satisfied. If you're seeking a place to enjoy exceptional sushi in a trendy setting, Arigatto Sushi is a great choice. Just make sure to arrive hungry, as the all-you-can-eat option allows you to truly relish in the wide array of flavors and leave with a contented, full belly.
Orange House Take Out
2414 W Whittier Blvd, La Habra, CA 90631, United States
Orange House is a great stop for Japanese food! Found out about it while doing a door dash delivery. I went today and I tried their Chicken Curry plate and fell in love. The rice is perfect, which is a surprisingly rare thing to find in Japanese restaurants in fringe Orange County.I will definitely be returning to try some of their other dishes. Excited to give their teriyaki bowls a try! If the curry plate is anything to go on, I can expect that itll be terrific! I highly recommend Orange House to all Whittier/La Habra residents in search of some quality Japanese food.
Akafuji
1450 S Harbor Blvd, La Habra, CA 90631, United States
I have seen some reviews that are a single star, just goes to show you that some people do flame the reviews. First I have been here many times and Japanese food is one of my favorites. I have been to Japan many times and have worked for Japanese companies for over 40 years. Been to MANY Japanese restaurants over those year. Ok the food is quite good here and sushi is one of the best for many miles and was a great find to start with. Service is good and food really good. They can pride themselves on the quality.I would also like to say that my family is in the business and we have won Best of Show at Food and Wine twice. We have 8 different styles of restaurants. Cant go wrong here.
Teriyaki King
1945 W La Habra Blvd, La Habra, CA 90631, United States
Two stars for the boba. I have been here 2x decided to give it another try with my son because he wanted Ramen and the place he wanted to go to was closed Yummy House Eden Cafe. I should have known better when the menu board spells Ramen as Ramyan - WTH anyway its meh basically packaged noodles and probably not home made broth not even sure the vegetables were fresh - just go for the boba. I also ordered the egg rolls the texture inside was mushy and the flavor was bland the only good thing about them is they killed the heat of the spicy Ramyan I ordered. BTW the first time I went there I had chorro within less than an hour of eating my meal - Probably not going back except for boba
Teriyaki Tempura
La Habra, CA 90631, United States
So am not from this area but I do come this way to pick up something Around here and I love tempura from the outside doesn't look like much is a nice small place once inside they have a medium amount of choices the price is not that bad I love the veggie tempura and the California rolls, but they do carry other stuff including macaroon ice cream! I've gone 3 times now in a month and so far the taste remains the same except yesterday I felt that they didn't give me the usual amount of veggies but overall the food is good and not pricey!I also noticed sketches on the wall and a folder on the counter am assuming those are from a local artist I believe you can purchase them!

Mazera Mazemen & Ramen
1456 S Harbor Blvd, La Habra, CA 90631, United States
Great ramen spot in OC! The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the broth had an amazing depth of flavor. The Mazemen was particularly outstanding, unlike any flavor Ive tasted elsewhere.(a brothless Japanese ramen that originated in Nagoya, Japan.)Highly recommend trying it! Friendly service too. Definitely recommend. Finally, there is a ramen restaurant in OC that makes maze soba properly. Regular ramen is also great because the broth is cooked properly. When eating Mazesoba, a bibim noodle style without soup, you must add vinegar for a better taste. I highly recommend it for the reasonable price, delicious food, nice atmosphere, and infinite friendliness.
Hamachi Sushi Express
1211 E La Habra Blvd Ste D, La Habra, CA 90631, United States
I’m Japanese so I’m very picky about my sushi. This place is BY FAR the best sushi restaurant I’ve tried. The sushi melts in your mouth and the couple that run it are extremely friendly.
