Kabuki Japanese Restaurant
500 Collection Blvd Suite 3230, Oxnard, CA 93036, United States
We love Kabuki Japanese Restaurant in Las Vegas! And we are grateful to find Kabuki here in Oxnard, CA! Me and my hubby have dined here twice in less than a month since moving here. The sushi has always been amazingly delicious. Their drinks are super yummy too! And of course their ramen noodles are our favorite. I love the spicy miso ramen! The only thing I’d suggest is make sure you come early because there is usually a long wait to get seated. Their sitting and tables are limited. This restaurant is not as big as the one in Las Vegas, NV.

Oh Sushi
2121 N Rose Ave # 400, Oxnard, CA 93036, United States
12/2/23 5:00 PM. We recieved the most gross food ever no sauce for pot stickers or tempura shrimp / vegetables. The sushi roll were soggy not fresh and thrown in the take out box all coming apart. The endomi beans were a joke . I called to speak to the owner who is normally there. I spoke to one of the workers who answers the phone to talk about our order. She was sarcastic, and the manager could/ would not come to the phone to talk to me.The owner is normally there micro managing her servers. We were.told to bring it back to be replaced.. I told her. We are not returning with all the traffic.I called 3 times and they hung up on me and the manager would not come to the phone. Also the owner is not allowed to put a tip on the bill: unless the customer is notified prior to paying the bill.If i am not mistaken this is illegal to charge a tip without notifying the customer. We notified a server months ago about this tip charge and they Saud they have no control over what the owner dies.If its on the bill the owner gets the tip; I think this is not correct.I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food has a Happy Place in the trash. Our bill was not itemized for each item charged. Total was $61.25 and $5.00. Tip added to the bill that was not authorized by the customer.Order 18:59:35 transaction 15 visa pymt $56.25 $5.00 unauthorized tip added to bill.THIS TIP WAS NOT ADVISED BY THE SERVER OR MANAGER.THE CUSTOMER NEEDS TO BE ASKED IF A TIP IS TO BE ADDED TO THE BILL.OTHERWISE THIS IS AN UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE BY THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY.MAKE SURE WHEN YOU PAY YOU GET AN ITEMIZED COPY OF FOOD ORDERED AND MAKE SURE THERE IS NO TIP ADDED TO YOUR BILL AT TIME OF PAYMENT!!!UNLESS YOU AUTHORIZE THE TIP THAT IS AN ILLIGEL CHARGE--YOU MUST BE TOLD ON ADVANCE.

Ramen Izakaya NoHo
10829 Oxnard St, North Hollywood, CA 91606, United States
This place is a hidden gem - my wife and I were starving so I found this spot not to far away from an appointment we had, and we were blown away by the service, and the deliciousness of the food! The ramen was, no kidding, the best ramen Ive ever had. Now Ill be the first to tell you that Ive not had 100s of ramen before, but I do enjoy some ramen every once and a while. This ramen has given me a new craving that I will be coming back for to this spot and Ill also be bringing friends and family here as well. My wife loved her dish, and we both left full, happy and with smiles on our faces. The staff is so friendly, brought us our food timely, were so professional, were genuinely kind people and I wish other restaurants would copy their model of hospitality.Ill add that the night after we dined here we went to the NY Times Best restaurant in LA, a Thai spot that I wont mention the name of, and it was NOTHING in comparison to this place. If youre sitting in your car, starving, just go here, youll be glad you did!

This is a Japanese restaurant that has been operating in Oxnard for a long time. For sushi, you can enjoy California rolls and other American sushi rolls. In addition, udon, soba, rice bowls, desserts, alcohol, etc. were also offered. The katsudon was delicious♪

Yokozuna
2075 N Oxnard Blvd, Oxnard, CA 93036, United States
One of few small shops serving Japanese styled food which havent hiked up prices considerably since Covid compared to when I last visited. 2 item combination lunch was $13 (approx, rounded up), which I chose Tempura and Bulgolgi. Hot tea was an additional charge, which is a departure from super traditional standards of East Asian restaurants where it is included -- lets be real, almost nobody does that in the United States anymore since serving tea leaves and hot water are both additional expenses, especially with Covid economic conditions. I also had an additional appetizer of Soft Shelled Crab ($12)Food quality-wise... it isnt the greatest, but it is well within reason and can be considered fairly good given the price-tag. The Bulgolgi did not have the strongest flavor ever, and had a bit more water than I was expecting... quite possibly due to cooking method, potentially straight from frozen and cooked while covered, and lacked the carmelization from being cooked a bit longer. The basic ingredient quality is still good. Because it was not too strongly flavored, I did not need to shove large spoonfuls of rice in between each biteThe Tempura was of reasonably good quality. The fried batter was of moderate thickness and did not taste completely bland. The shrimp was of good quality, as were the vegetables used. Only minor gripes with the pumpkin skin being a bit thick and included when fried, and similar with the broccoli having the tougher parts of the stalk when fried. Some restaurants deal with the skin and tougher parts by either peeling them or boiling the ingredients a bit (then letting them rest/cool off a bit) before frying. There is a dipping sauce included, which tasted a little different from what I am used to for Tempura. Im not mistaking a slight bit of vinegar or citrus added to it, am I? Still a very nice flavor for the sauceThe salad had a very nice white colored dressing that was mildly sweet. One of my favorites since I have a bit of a sweet tooth. The miso soup is very standard for more traditional shops - compared to Genmai Sushis slightly sweet version but still lovely version that tastes like mirin was added to it, and Sakus potential cardic arrest if fed to the wrong person abomination that is worse than ocean water. Rice is also reasonably standard. The meal was good overall and reasonably fillingThey gave a slice of orange with the combination meal. I cannot emphasize how special that is, considering it is omitted in some restaurants due to them believing it is just an extra decoration when it is supposed to serve as a dessert in traditional context - even more-so with an ongoing orange supply issue that made orange juice increase considerably in price more recentlyThe soft-shelled crab is absolutely delicious. Expensive, as it should be, but delicious. Definitely a guilty pleasure Id be continuing to have if I remained in this area. Not many places in this area serve this delicacyService was good and considerate, and asked if I needed anything every so often, such as refills for hot teaDefinitely not the best out of the best store out there, but it is within reason/very good for its price-tag (the 2 item combination would have been closer to $20 at a higher end shop at a base in current times) with good service, and could easily fix issues with minor adjustments to food prep/cooking. In all honesty, these results are a sign of business being slow so preparations are done in a manner to keep food as fresh as possible while serving as soon as possible, such as preparation of certain foods from a frozen state and not peeling and boiling foods that are kept refrigerated

Suisen Ramen & Sushi
1651 Victoria Ave #130, Oxnard, CA 93035, United States
New owner since June/2022. Suisen has the Same Awesome Ramen Recipe but wayyy better take out packaging. Called to order and answered immedietely. Ordered the Fuji Ramen and they provide a take out bowl that has two levels one for the noodles and one for the Miso Ramen. This soup stayed hot till we got home 20 minutes away. The problem with Kitanoya (the previous business) packaging was that they would put the cold noodles and extras in a Styrofoam box then when you got home and put the noodles in it would make the soup temp colder which made me need to reheat it a little past halfway through. The new interior walls of the restaurant are now covered in a wood that reminds me of traditional Japanese homes. It is very calming. Although I was just doing a pick up order, all the cooks and the 2 servers were very welcoming and all told me to have a good night. I will definetely be coming back.

Fishermans Sushi
2810 Harbor Blvd b12, Oxnard, CA 93035, United States
A solid five star rating. TEN does it right!!! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere grabs a hold of you. This was our first visit to TEN and we came during happy hour, so we had to sample it all. We ordered the Shrimp and Gritcake, Fish Tacos, Braised Beef Tacos, and Fried Green Tomatoes. All the dishes we ordered were off Happy Hour menu and were really cheap!! For what you get, this place is a must visit at Happy Hour!!! We sampled 4 items and had 2 of their signature cocktails and our bill was less than $30. I cant stress this enough--this is a MUST visit for happy hour. Everything was so good! We also had friendly and prompt service. Our food was out very quickly, the drinks were strong but well mixed, and my wife also enjoyed the tunes they were playing. We will definitely be back, but I will try hard to come back during happy hour because the value was tremendous!

Saku Asian Kitchen
450 S B St, Oxnard, CA 93030, United States
The food... was... good...? I had the Bulgogi(?) Bento and a Brown Sugar Milk TeaI have a feeling they messed up the order and gave me a Kalbi box instead of Bulgogi, which Kalbi is more expensive. The Bulgogi(?) had some pieces that might have been a bit overcooked, but was otherwise still delicious. There was Tempura with the Bento that also tasted pretty good, especially since there was no dipping sauce provided so if the Tempura was slightly lacking there was no way to cover that up. The rice was fine, the salad was also OK - no dressing on the salad, just greens and some dried fruit. Overall, pretty goodThe Brown Sugar Milk Tea was... it was what it was, I guess. The drink itself was fine, but the boba was slightly overcooked or sitting there for awhile so it became just a tiny bit mushy -- which made it easier to drink, but no longer had the chewiness that some people associate with boba. Personally, this was fine for me since I prefer the boba to be softer and easier to consume than to have a somewhat hard/firm center when it is a little under-cookedNow the bad part, and why this is getting such a low score. The service was mediocre, as you would probably expect from someone who doesnt plan on serving people their whole life as a career. The atmosphere is an awkward mix of the older higher end dine-in restaurant that existed before, and the newer shop that is a more modern fast food counter experience. This aesthetic clash isnt the worst of it, being overtaken by the lack of proper organization with menu displays - they have a large display behind the counter on the wall, and a taped paper menu on the counter that is a little ways off from the cashier. There is no menu at the front of the shop to look at and consider whether or not there is anything you would want to consider eating before you head in, and I did not see any take-away menus hanging around for customers to take either. This drops the score down to about a 4 at worst onlySo here we are with the truly terrible part that nukes the entire score for this shop: The Miso Soup was absolutely INEDIBLE. **INEDIBLE**. That thing was cardiac arrest waiting to happen. You might as well have grabbed ocean water, heated it, and called that soup instead. Dropping the score to a 2 is GENEROUS. This could easily be dropped to a 1 since food should (1) not be inedible flavor-wise, (2) should NOT be an immediate health hazard for someone consuming it if there are no allergy problems, and (3) should not have been continued to be served to customers while an issue was raised regarding the particular soup, as these are typically made in large batches and held throughout the day. Even the tofu within it was barely edible - you shouldnt even eat that part either with how salty it wasI declined an offer to have the soup remade since itd likely be grabbing from the same pot with the same errors/issues. There are a few potential things going wrong here: (1) This is Miso Soup. The contents settle very easily. If they hadnt been properly stirring the pot while serving soup, you can very easily grab everything from the very bottom where all of the salt and miso is all concentrated and end up serving that to a customer. (2) This is Miso Soup. You dont want to be heating miso up all the time. It can get damaged easily from excess heat, so if you are keeping it warm on a high flame... you are probably doing something wrong. The cooking method for Miso Soup is to boil the water, THEN mix in the miso. (3) Did I mention this was Miso Soup? There should NOT be additional salt added. Miso itself contains a fair bit already, and the most that should ever be added is a small bit from a reasonably gentle broth. I can imagine where the abomination that was being called soup came from among these things, assuming they didnt decide to just dump an entire large package of salt into the mix just becauseSo there you have it - its an OK shop aside from some issues, but youve been warned that there are some terrible landmines with some dishes. You have been warned.
