Brothers Korean BBQ
12218 Centralia St, Lakewood, CA 90715, United States
I dont usually review Korean restaurants but this one i have to say. They serve food based on head count, it doesnt matter how much you ordered. Which made me think should I pay my tips based on my head count? Also it was super expensive, didnt bring waters, only one of the waitress was nice and rest was absolutely trash. Food was good but very low low portion. Just dont go this place you will have bad experience

Dae Bak Korean Restaurant
11810 Centralia St, Lakewood, CA 90715, United States
Ive been looking for a new regular Korean spot since moving to the Los Alamitos area a couple years ago, and my search is finally over. Ive been to Dae Bak several times now, and it has become my go to Korean restaurant. You wont find all you can eat, Sam (lettuce leaves for wraps), or a grill at your table, but they have all the basics Im familiar with, and theyre good. Bibimbap, Korean pancake, daengjang shige (sp?), gamja tang. I havent had a bad dish here yet.Im not sure why, but there are hardly any customers when I eat here, so, as far as I can tell, you shouldnt have to wait long to be seated. The dining area is roomy, comfortable, and clean. Prices are good as well, so you really cant go wrong by coming to Dae Bak if youre in the mood for a good Korean meal.
Flame Broiler
4633 Candlewood St, Lakewood, CA 90712, United States
I came today for the first time yesterday and the gentleman that was at the register was amazing! I wanted the spicy chicken bowl but they didnt have it so he gave me the sauce to mix. Very polite and nice guy. However, today I come and the girl and the register was extremely rude, her name was VIRA. She looked frustrated that I asked for the same combination of sauce and was bothered when I tried to explain what I was looking for. She looked like she hates her job, I dont understand why any person would want to hire her. Horrible customer service and no people skills. She needs training or better yet another job that doesnt include dealing with people.

Tasty food, friendly & quick service. Definitely suggest you try it if you havent already!I went to The Flame Broiler on Candlewood Ave. in Lakewood, CA just across the street from the north side of the Lakewood Center.Be aware that this location IS NOT listed, nor found any where on, The Flame Broilers corp. website. I emailed the corp office, but I have not received a reply as of this writing. I also mentioned it to the cashier at The Flame Broiler when I was there & he was aware his locations omission from the corp. websites location listing, but he appeared, at least to me, to be frustrated from, or tired of, trying to correct the exclusion. So, if you want to find the Candlewood Ave. location in Lakewood, CA, youll need to include Candlewood Ave.& Lakewood, CA along with The Flame Broiler when doing an internet search.

I doubt I will be buying chicken and rice bowls at other places if I can avoid it. It is not so much the food that has me choosing to come back, it is the staff. I purchased an order through GrubHub after a nasty stomach flu which left me in such pain that driving was not an option. The moment they saw there was an issue with the order and it getting a driver assigned to it, they contacted me and said they would be cancelling the order. They mentioned that they also offer their food through postmates and uber, should I desire to order it again. I can say going forward, that anyone willing to train their employees to take a hit like that, is top notch in my book.
bb.q Chicken Lakewood
3205 E Carson St, Lakewood, CA 90712, United States
$5 online promo for email survey participationbb.q Chicken is a Korean fried chicken restaurant. Im quite familiar with the Cerritos location, so upon receiving a $5 online discount for taking an email survey, I wanted to check this place out to see how they stack up to Cerritos.Calamari-In my mind, I thought the calamari would be breaded in tempura. Alas, it was breaded in the same fashion as fish sticks. In addition, the calamari was accompanied by two packets of ketchup. I had to ask for some hot sauce to kick things up a notch. I found the calamari lacking, and glad I didnt pay full price.Service was good. I ordered online, so my order was ready to go upon arrival. A good amount of seating, with parking via a private lot. bb.q Chicken is located across from the Lakewood Country Club.Next time, Ill stick to the chicken. bb.q Chicken is a great chicken shop, but when straying a bit with their calamari, I was less than enthralled. Ill keep that in mind the next time I stop by.
K Food Story
20137 Pioneer Blvd, Lakewood, CA 90715, United States
H Marts resident eatery, K Food Story has food options for shoppers looking for a bite. Needing a food fix, I checked out K Food Storys options on what to get.$6 Bibimbap & japchae dine-in promo-For $6, a bowl of bibimbap or plate of japchae sounded like a great deal. Japchae is just as good taken home, so I went with bibimbap.Bibimbap-A hefty meal for not a lot of dough, K Food Storys bibimbap came with soup, napa cabbage kimchi & cucumber kimchi. The food was hot & fresh, and filling to the tummy. The star of the show being the fried runny egg on top.Service was good. The wait wasnt long for my order to be ready. Plenty of tables to choose from. H Mart has complimentary iced water & hot barley tea. Upon finishing, diners just place their food trays in the racks.K Food Story is a solid Korean food option inside H Mart. Staples such as soondubu (tofu soup) & bulgogi (marinated Korean ribs) are also on the menu, but its hard to pass up bibimbap for only $6. Much better & healthier than buying a burger combo meal, I can see myself being a frequent visitor when the mood strikes.

On 3/31/19 I went in to make a purchase and I wanted to use a merchandise credit card that I hadnt used yet. The cashier told me to swipe the card like 3 times under what it looked like a purchase with a gift card but it wouldnt go through. So then she asked me to try again because she had it under the wrong section. I swiped the card again and it said merchandise credit on the screen, she said to swipe the card one more time. Cashier then says oh there is no money on this card. So I told her that I was a little confused because I know for sure I hadnt used this card. I was extremely certain that I had money on it. Cashier then paiged the manager over. The manager comes takes a look at the screen and says oh its not going through because there is no money on here she printed a slip showing a zero balance on the card. She said let me give you guest services number. I calmly said ok no problem I will just give them a call and find out whats going on. I bought the products anyway. So later that day I called and spoke to Fabian, he said that there was no shopping history on the card and that when they had me swipe it more than once it actually deleted the funds from the card. He said he was going to send a report to the store so I can go back and get the money back on it. The next day 4/1/19 I went it and spoke to the same manager that I spoke to yesterday and I explained what Fabian had told me. She was very defensive and had a lot of attitude, she showed no concern in trying to help me fix this problem, she said that she didnt know what he meant by the funds being deleted on my card and that they did NO such thing. I asked her to please call guest services and speak to someone. She went to the back room or something and after a few minutes another employee brings their phone to me and has me speak to Tomy, a woman from South Carolina. Tomy said that Fabian did not know what he was talking about and that they cannot check merchandise card balances on their system. I felt like an idiot, confused, cheated, no one seemed to want to help me figure out why there was no balance on my card. Tomy offered a phone number to call and get a card balance. Again, I was confused because thats the reason I needed their help, because the card had zero balance. I called this number and spoke to a man who was super friendly and was able to check the history of the card. He said that there were no purchases done with this card and that when the cashier swiped my card twice it actually erased/voided the money on the card which is what Fabian had told me. He was able to put the money back on the card. THANK GOD! I went back inside ulta and got a balance inquiry from an employee on the register. I wanted to make sure the money was there and it was. The manager was no where to be found. She didnt even come up to me and ask me if I had been helped if the problem was resolved. I didnt even get an apology. SHE WAS RUDE, DEFENSIVE AND MADE ME FEEL LIKE A LIAR. I wonder if Ulta even trains their employees proper usage of merchandise credit cards. How many times have they done this to customers? ? I was so frustrated and angry that I had to go through all this just to fix a mistake that the cashier made. I dont even feel like shopping at ulta anymore.
