Korean BBQ & Tofu

A great, neighborhood Korean restaurant. When we’re craving Korean, it always hits the spot. The restaurant itself is small and unassuming, which I find to be cozy and an easy place to relax where the focus is the food.

Great quality meat of all the AYCE Korean restaurants in the bay area. Great banchang as well!

My wife and I recently dined at Range Life and unfortunately, our experience fell short of the expectations given the price range of the place and its Bib gourmand award. While some dishes were decent, others left something to be desired. The first appetizer, the feral heart snow peas & Korean radish, was disappointing and not worth the price as the flavors did not complement each other. The second appetizer, the beef tartare, was not bad, but the fried shallots overpowered the tartare. The entrées, the gusanito beans and roasted chicken, were decent, but with no new or interesting tastes and pairings. Additionally, the chicken portion was enormous and may have impacted our dining experience. The dessert, milk and honey ice cream with honeycomb, was fantastic, but unfortunately, the honeycomb was burned. When we informed the server, she replied that it was intentional, but in my experience, honeycomb doesn‘t have to taste like this.Compared to other restaurants with the Bib Gourmand award, Range Life falls behind. During our visit, we noticed areas where the staff could improve to enhance the overall guest experience. Implementing a unified dress code would create a more professional atmosphere; clearer and louder communication at the table would be beneficial; staff could be knowledgeable about the wine list to make recommendations based on guests preferences, and ensure no cork residue is left after serving wine by the glass. In the end it felt odd to have the bill placed on our table without any acknowledgment. A simple inquiry about further dining or drink options would have made us feel more valued as customers.Edit: Add one star to the review if you set the expectations right. In the end, it is one of the nicest places with decent food around Livermore after all.

If you are looking for a place that treats you based off your looks and appearance well you found the perfect place!!! I went here recently for lunch and the blonde woman who takes orders seemed to treat me a bit rude, very blunt answers, seemed to treat me based off my appearance! I was in my work clothes but regardless of my appearance, I should be treated with the same respect as anyone else in the restaurant. The order took forever and to make matters even worse, there was a hair in my burger =( I dont know why she would treat me in such a way simply based off my appearance. Very disappointed. I hope the owner sees this so that he/she knows that people are treated based off their appearance. I was respectful and used manners but it didnt matter. I asked for ketchup and ranch and she cut me off saying that it was in the bag, she clearly wanted me gone asap! I almost forgot, at the very beginning of our interaction when we walked in she asked what we wanted. No menu just what do you want I am never coming back to this place again.

I chose to try this place out based on the reviews. The atmosphere was okay, but the smell of the restaurant was off like cleaning supplies. The woman who served us was very nice. My cousin and I came to in to the restaurant for the ramen. I can see that most of the 4/5 star reviews is for sushi. I read several other people saying the same thorns about my experience. The ramen was so incredibly bland. I ordered the veggie ramen and the tofu in it was tiny pieces you could barely see and seemed like dehydrated tofu pieces. There was really no flavor at all and the noodles felt like instant noodles. The whole ramen experience was worse than buying packaged ramen noodles from the store.
Wasabi Bistro

Like most Japanese restaurants in the area, this one is Korean run. Ordered the hamachi kama and the 12 piece sashimi. The Kama was grilled for a perfect amount of time - the meat and fat simply melts in your mouth. 5/5. The sashimi was good for the price 4/5 - on this trip, the yellowtail and the albacore was better than the salmon. Ill be back to try other items on their menu - this restaurant is definitely repeatable.
Saigon Cafe

Update: 10.28.23 Tofu lemongrass rice plate was delicious, except for the rice, which tasted like fish! We are vegan, and while we understand this restaurant prepares all foods in one kitchen, shared utensils should not be used, especially between steamed rice and fish. This has never happened before, and we hope it wont happen again. Otherwise, the rice noodles & veggies in our tofu veggie pho were undercooked quite significantly, so we microwaved the soup in a large bowl until properly cooked when we got home. We have eaten at Saigon Cafe since they opened, but the last few years are more hit & miss wrt quality. We still really like this place & want to support local businesses too...we hope theyll fine tune the kitchen for quality control, but well definitely give them another chance as we want to give the benefit of the doubt this time.Edit 8.18.23 My veggie pho was great, my husbands rice plate with tofu & veggies was quite undercooked. We do like veggies stir fried, but still crisp, but cabbage, broccoli, carrots were still raw, not well heated, so not sure why cook would undercook it like that. Rice was perfectly cooked. Salad on the side was fresh with a large slice of cucumber & we love the ginger dressing. Server was attentive, helpful, & polite. We didnt complain to him about the uncooked veggies, weve been coming to this place since they opened many years ago.Edit 4/19/19: Far too much salt being used, especially in the pho. Theyve always been heavy on salt, but its worse for the past few months to the point that we cant eat here anymore. Requesting easy on the salt results in bland food, no underlying spices or flavor. We all drink water for hours after eating there, hadnt really tuned into this until recently after not having eaten at Saigon Cafe for several weeks. Lowered rating to 3 stars for using so much salt instead of spices.Delicious Viet food, friendly service. Reasonably priced. Quick take out available. Point system to earn free food is quite generous. Good portions. Free street parking.

Livermore Restaurants! I stopped by during a business trip and ordered nigiri, katsudon, ramen, and Korean chirashi, and they were all delicious. Amakara is a good sushi restaurant, but Tommy Katsu is also delicious!

This shopping center is wonderful except just one thing. First, this center is well organized and very clean. There are plenty of parking spots and toilets are available. The companies in this shoping center are famous, and well stablshed in America. Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and Tony Burch are just a few of them. Unfortunately, these companies and others do not make their products in the USA. In 1960 about 95 percent of clothes purchased in the USA were made domestically, now it is about 2 percent of clothes purchased in America actually made in the USA. And this is highly disturbing. There are companies like Karen Kane, Michael Stars, Taylor Stitch, AMVI Collection, Buck Mason and many others that are not in this shopping center. And, what all they have in common is a good quality of their products and that they all make their products only in the USA. This shopping center is a marvelous place to spend time, shop and meet new people. However, anyone who would like to support small businesses in America should consider shopping from alternative companies as well. Hopefully, the owner of this shopping center will attract at least a few companies that make their products exclusively in the USA. If i would like to travel to any other country, i would prefer to give a gift to someone that would clearly show the country i came from, Made in USA.
