Hands-down this is the best Korean restaurant. I’ve tried so far in the United States. In the many cities I’ve visited. Korean food is my second favor of Peruvian. I was walking down the street and stumbled upon this hidden gem. I immediately noticed the sign at the door that said it was the top restaurant in the bay so I said, I definitely gotta come in the restaurant was full by the way it was not long for a table. I’ve tried the spicy wings as I love spicy food and definitely wings they were crispy and the spice touch was perfect. I also tried the flaming fondue as it seems that everybody in the restaurant was ordering that as well. It did not disappointed. It was very very good. I tried to Korean beer that they don’t have at my local city and other dishes that I cannot recall the name to. If you love Korean food and you’re in the San Jose area you better come check this place out. I know next time I’m in town. I will be stopping here for sure.
Danbi Korean Restaurant
1092 N First St, San Jose, CA 95112, United States
I decided to try Danbi as its the closest Korean restaurant to the hotel Im staying at while Im here for business. I was craving the cheese chicken dish from Coco Bang in San Francisco proper but didnt feel like making the hour long drive, so I settled on just any Korean food. I was seated immediately and pleasantly and got myself a Coke while I looked over the menu. Lo and behold: this restaurant also had a cheese chicken dish (spicy chicken with melted cheese on top). I found the staff attentive and pleasant as I waited for my meal to arrive. As usual, small side plates were served; kimchi and the like. I can not overstate out impressed I was with the quality of the small plates. The kimchi, itself, was especially fantastic. When my main dish arrived, I was brought back down from my high a little bit - the dish was alright but not quite as Id hoped. They only used shredded mozzarella (I knew this from the menu) which didnt quite have the impact of a sharper cheese. I also thought that maybe there were an excessive number of large vegetables. All in all, I still ate my fill. For dessert, I had the green tea ice cream that came with my dish. This was on the level of the small plates that accompanied my meal; probably the best green tea ice cream Ive ever had. All of that said, with so many Korean food offerings in the area to choose from, will the green tea ice cream and kimchi be enough to bring me back someday? Maybe. Probably.

This establishment is like a fast food restaurant, Korean food style. I have eaten at this place several times before, usually because it was conveniently open later when I am in Downtown San Jose. I ordered the Firecracker Pork with Kimchi, with mushrooms, and multi-grains. This also came with dipping sauces, one was gochujang mayonnaise, and the other was a concoction Koreans call chojang. Both are as excellent as the rest of the food. The best compliment I can pay this place is that multiple return visits speaks for itself.

Had a after funeral meal here couple days ago - probably had 50 people there and we had the reservation set couple days prior to the date. When we arrived there was only 1 server ready to serve all 50 people which started the whole chaos of: food tasting horrible, not providing the enough side dishes, food becoming cold, not providing rice for 20 minutes after food came out, not having water, food coming out super late (took more than 30 minutes for a Galbitang, which usually takes less than 10 minutes), server sighs every time we even try to ask for a small favor (such as to bring salt and pepper to the table) and so many other 100 issues that I can't even list all here. The owner must have thought that he would make a lot of money by cutting cost of having more servers to serve 50 people; and i guess it worked out as he planned. But I do not think anyone who was there on that day are willing to go back there and about 40 of 50 people that were there were from the local area and we couldnt be more terrified on how they treated us. I think the experience from here was one of the worst services and food that I have had for my whole entire life. Thanks to the owner of this restaurant, Korean Palace, for the experience and letting me appreciate the services from other restaurants. Not going back ever. Bye

For the price of 28$ of an ayce buffet for dinner I expected more.Service was a toss up. I appreciated the effort put in by some of our waiters, but they really need more training/organization. Took over 20-30 minutes for our meat to arrive between orders.....When it did arrive, the waiter slammed the plate of chicken so hard it got all over my shirt.I understand that they are trying their best, but for the price I am paying I can get a better experience elsewhere. Not all the serving experience were bad, we had an enthusiastic fellow who made sure our grill was replaced. And our main server was also very attentive. The meat was so-so. Not too bad, but not the best. The premium steak (order #1 iirc) was so tough you couldnt even seperate it from the big chunk of fat that accompanied it. The brisket was aite and the marinated meats were average. The worse part were the appetizers. I was excited to bite into the kimchi, and instead I bit into small pieces of ice. They must have just pulled the appetizer out to defrost ......This was the first time at an ayce kbbq spot that I did not ask for more appetizers.......Overall, go to some other ayce Kbbq place on El Camino. This place is not worth it. I can buy a good cut of steak at a grocery store and make some sides for 20$. The whole point of ayce is variety. But all the marinated meats tasted the same. The same hint of sweetness and flavor was present and strongly overpowered the original flavor of the meat itself. Only one or two of the meats stood out in my opinion.
Q Pot Korean BBQ & Hotpot

RESTROOMS: 4/5SERVICE: 5/5FOOD: 4/5EFFECIENCY: 5/5COST/BENEFIT: 4/5The RESTROOM was not perfect but not bad either. There was not paper towels or tissue lying around. No obvious water stains on the sink (which would show lack of cleaning) or dried stains near the urinals. The electronic hand dryer is very effective and reduces over all waste. Only concern is that an inward swinging door can swipe you if you arent leaning to the left. The SERVICE is definitely where this restaurant shines. The minute you walk in youll notice a convenient tablet where you can register for the wait list. There are at least two workers monitoring the flow and calling out names. Our server was very fast and I mean fast with every thing we ordered. She made sure to refill our drinks without even us asking. The server explained out to order and would come by from time to time to ask if we needed our grill changed. It was never an issue if we asked passerby server for help (this is a huge problem at chain restaurants). We have been to a lot of Korean restaurants and the very best tend to be in Koreatown but this restaurant is really the best for Korean FOOD in the south bay / silicon Valley region. Everything was very flavorful. No unnecessary fat. There was even a self serve sauce bar. Honestly no complaints at all with the food.EFFICIENCY... this place was the very best in efficient use of space, staff, technology and teamwork. The restaurant was huge and there were no empty seats but even then we never felt cramped. The host had all the Korean side dishes prepped and saran wrapped at the front counter ready to be brought to the table. There was very little if any wait for any additional orders. The staff seemed very good at communicating and showed teamwork at all times. No one was slow walking. Everyone had a purpose. The cost of about $30/person for the BBQ dinner is an exceptional value and the benefits far exceeded any cost as we had six total meat dishes including cheese corn. We left full but not uncomfortable. We felt that we got more than our moneys worth. The last point I want to make is on morale. Something no one really talks about. From a customer perspective, the morale appeared high. I saw servers helping each other, smiling, talking. I saw two servers bump each other and play it off as if they were friends. Everyone worked like they were in it together.Yes. We will come again. Yes there is a 60 minute wait. Its worth it.

Been living in this neighbor hood for 25 years and always wondered what this place was all about. So today was the day I made the first visit and I will be coming back as a regular to try all the different plates and meals they make. I loved the Beef Bulgogi and Minh the lady in charge was great taking care of 3 different tables of customers. She was very helpful and educational on teaching me the way the food is served. The meals come with condiments to use and white rice. I was full with all of the food and look forward on bringing my lady and daughter some day soon. The facility was a medium size and plenty of seats available. I also found out they have a different location down town San Jose on First Street. The other customers were regulars and even shared some advice with me on how to eat the meals with the side dishes. The beef reminded me of a Mexican Carne Asada. Well cooked with the green onions and some type of cabage. I ate all of it and enjoyed the grilled hot stone plate it was served on. Korean BQ was a NOM NOM place

Great, authentic (Im Korean) and huge portions. Its amazing this little hole-in-the-wall place is hidden among tech companies. I am so glad I found this place. Ive had it twice this week already and am considering it again today. Most places will give two pieces of Kalbi (short rib) or three if its not good quality like from L&L Hawaiian BBQ (theirs is so thin and fatty). This place gives four ribs, cut up into pieces, 6 different kinds of banchan. Only downsides to this place is the location and parking availability. If you go during the lunch peak (12-2) you might find yourself waiting for parking and a seat. I go around 11:30-11:45 and have issues with parking but not being seated. Its a small restaurant, maybe if my minds-eye can recall there are only about 15 tables. They can accommodate larger groups by combining the tables but NOT recommended. I think a group of 6 would be the maximum I would recommend. So Ive tried the bibimbap (google it if youre not sure what it is. Its GOOD)The kimchi jigae (kimchi soup with tofu), the fried mackerel from the lunch menu and the kalbi. All are excellent given the fact the kitchen staff are Mexican. They were good students.Bottom line, I highly recommend this place. Great food, great portions and even better service. They do get VERY busy and service can suffer for this but its not bad even then.
