Capital Noodle Bar
3477 E Imperial Hwy, Brea, CA 92823, United States
I have been here twice now and each time has been wonderful - the food, the staff and the atmosphere! In case you want to know without reading my whole review, the food is so delicious - there is nothing else to say about it!! But read to know all aspects on what to expect with service and billing.First off, my family and I are VERY Covid aware. We only just began eating at restaurants again this year and only when all safety factors line up for us . Capital Noodle House does have indoor dining but at this time, I only choose to eat outdoors so I can not comment on the interior though it looks very clean and spacious through the window! We eat on the patio which is small but tables are nicely spaced and clean. We asked the waitress if we could have the table cleaned again just because we like to see it cleaned with our own eyes and she had it cleaned again without question. Staff wears masks at all times.Every person that waited on us was patient and nice and helpful and had an amazing attitude. Every time. The food is amazing and comes out pretty fast. We went on Valentine's evening with our family of 6 including a baby and we got seated and served fast.Within 30 minutes they had a line of people waiting to get in so this accounts for both popularity and spacing! The prices are not cheap but reasonable and what you would expect from a sit down eatery with high standards. For 5 meals, 2 beers, two sides and three non alcoholic drinks, our bill was $125Not including tip. One thing cool about their billing is that it tells you what the tip is for various percentages and tells you the total- so it makes it easy for you to factor in!If I had to say anything even slightly negative it would be about the drinks. The only thing that perturbed me on our second visit was that we were charged for 2 iced teas when it should have been refilled for free and I ordered hot tea for three. The tea comes in the same pot weather it's for two or three but the charge is per person. When I needed a refill on tea - we just got more water added to the pot which just made hot water- not tea (but I think this is standard for tea refills anywhere). So, really this part is for management- personally, I feel tea should be charged per pot not per cup - or give individual pots. Basically, I paid $10.50 for 3 cups of tea and a refill of hot water. This may be nickel and dime-ing - but in today's climate- every penny counts on all sides. So it is just a side note..nothing I would take points off for or not return for - I didn't even complain about it on the bill. If it happened again- I would say something about the refills and ask about the tea pots up front before ordering. Either way this in no way detracted from my experience!! I completely recommend eating or taking food from Capital Noodle! This place is wonderful!

My Lunch Spot
667 S Brea Canyon Rd #20A, Walnut, CA 91789, United States
Im a local truck driver, and I happened to take a 30 minute break just down the street from My Lunch Spot. I was hungry and I needed a restroom, so I went to their sandwich shop. The restroom was only for employees, which I totally understand, but when the owner learned that I was a truck driver (and very hungry ?), she was more than happy to let me use their restroom. She was so nice about it, explaining to me that her Mom has some health issues, which is the main reason she limits the people using the facilities. I agreed with her wanting to exercise caution to avoid exposing her Mom, yet she still allowed me to use their facilities. I also ordered a turkey and cranberry sandwich, and it was delicious and fresh. This place is a hidden gem that is run by the nicest people Ive met in my local travels!

Kenkotsu Ramen
2445 E Imperial Hwy K, Brea, CA 92821, United States
This is a great ramen shop, lots of parking, menu is straightforward and all food is cooked to order in a open kitchen. Service is friendly, but sometimes refills of water and hot tea need to be asked for. Our family comes here often and we have only had great experiences. This picture is the vegetable ramen with noodles and chicken chashu.

Mutiara Food & Market
225 S La Brea Ave, Inglewood, CA 90301, United States
My first time ever trying Burmese food. The service was excellent as the server helped narrowing down my choices because I wanted to try everything. I went on the weekend so I decided to get items that were only offered on the weekend - curry chicken noodle and the tofu salad. I was told that was more than enough for 1 person. I ordered a hot milk tea and it was made with condensed and it was delicious. I slurped down the noodle and empty the bowl. The noodles were perfect in chewiness and it soaked the flavor of the broth that I wouldnt mind having just by itself. The Burmese tofu salad was unique to me because Ive never tried tofu made with garbanzo bean. It was definitely filling. If you like fish sauce with dried shrimp for saltiness and slightly tangy from lemon juice and chilli powder to taste for some heat, well then you must try the salad. I liked the texture; it is fuller, less delicate than soy, much like Korean rice jello, very cooling.

Pho Tay Bac Restaurant
860 W Imperial Hwy # A, Brea, CA 92821, United States
I have been going to this spot for the last 7 years. I am usually on a low carb diet. So I typically order Pho soup, NO NOODLES exta steak and extra onion!! No carbs doesnt mean no flavor!! I compare every Pho spot I go to to this place!! Its a small shop but there food is always hot and ready!! I call ahead and when I get there my table is ready with my drink and condiments as I walk in. I always feel so welcome. They get my food out fast. The broth is a light brown and is always packed with flavor. I will always come back here. Best PHO EVER!! The BBQ Pork on the side is amazing. I have not found another sport with this flavor. The egg rolls are always hot and crunchy.

Ichiban
1015 E Imperial Hwy c3, Brea, CA 92821, United States
$$ to $$$My Pick for Restaurant of the Year Award 2019, (also 2017, 2018)!Ichiban in Brea is easily my favorite restaurant for 2017! Finally, a restaurant that gets it ALL right. Thirty years in business tells the story, there is much more to the story of this Ichiban Restaurant for me. We had a great time visiting this wonderful Japanese Restaurant in beautiful Brea, CA. This was my first visit; I was invited and almost passed on going; C told me it was Ichiban... I already knew that Ichiban is Japanese for number 1.I am very glad I accepted; I have found a great, must return to Japanese Restaurant experience that I can only rave about! The owner, Tom was our greeter and I was immediately impressed as Tom is very personable and quite willing to share some smiles, his humor (a couple of jokes.. as I had one to share with him) and some interesting information on Ichiban. As he took us to our table he told me that his wife Masako is the visionary of this exceptional restaurant as I was commenting on the pleasing interior decor.A restaurant to get inspired by; everything unfolded perfectly after being seated. Julio (they call him Juliosan he told me later) was our server. Young, mild, well mannered... a super server in my opinion; took our order and proceeded to make our dining experience as perfect as he possibly could.Tom checked up on us also and he brought Masako over and introduced her to us (They check up on all of their customers). She was very gracious willing to talk and listen; I told her how much we were enjoying her beautiful restaurant; I mentioned that the Sake was excellent (very smooth and favorable), the Chicken Karaage was the best (first time I have had this delicious Japaneses style fried chicken), the plating was gorgeous (see some of my photos) and I also mentioned my appreciation of the minimal interior design. She smiled and thanked me as I went on and on and on...The food at this Ichiban was delicious and artistically plated; they serve generous portions (plenty left to take some home) and we consider the pricing to be very affordable to us!There is nothing Tom, Masako and Juliosan could have done to improve our experience. 100 percent satisfaction... easiest 5 Star of the year and we visit a lot of restaurants, many fine dining. C and S travel far more than I do; they search out the best (I do also but sometimes I look for the diamond in the rough). Ichiban is a diamond for sure but a diamond cut by an expert. This was Cs choice to celebrate her birthday out of all the restaurants she visits (a whole lot). Also, in this regard there was a group seated next to us that were celebrating; they told me that they love this Ichiban and have been loving it for 30 years..Thirty Years of getting it ALL right! I highly recommend this Ichiban. On my favorites list for sure!Note: I read all the reviews. This restaurant has mostly 5 Star reviews with a lot of praise for quality, good atmosphere, friendly staff and friendly personable owners. However, I notice a few reviews at 1 Star. In my opinion I find it hard to believe any of those reviews; they read like a vendetta rather than a review (my take on them). I am a level (8) Guide for Google Maps. I eat out more than anyone I know or have met. I would easily give this restaurant 10 Star review if I could.. I hope you read between the lines like I do. Best to you all.. I hope this helps you!by cmilton111Google Guide for Laguna Beach7/10/2017... update 7.2029_______________________________________ &CAM - Staff Writer World Traveler wrote:Ichiban: I Came here for the first time last year & was impressed with the food and service. The food is delicious & in good portions, for a reasonable price - They have many varieties of Japanese American Entrees plus Shashmi & Sushis - and a Sushi Bar -The waiters are friendly & knowledgeable -Its a cute place in Brea nestled in a strip mall off Imperial Hwy.____________________________________________

J Sushi Brea
932 E Imperial Hwy, Brea, CA 92821, United States
Discovered J Sushi in Brea one night for some take-out during this pandemic and have been a faithful, returning customer ever since. The whole family agrees that their food is delicious and fresh. My personal favorite is the Paradise Roll. It is a refreshing and tasty roll wrapped in cucumber instead of rice. It is delicious! In addition to their fresh, delicious sushi, they follow the CDC and local guidelines for places to eat and that reassures me that they also follow other healthy guidelines in their food preparation areas as well.Currently, there is no dine-in or outside dining available...but that is totally okay! I still order to go foods and tip to help keep this place going. They wear masks, require customers to do the same and practice safe social distancing. Only one customer allowed inside at a time. I order off their website which is super easy and pay online. They always offer help out to my car since my orders are large usually for the whole family. I love their food, their service, and their business practices.Looking forward to our next order! Oh, sorry...I have only attached a couple photos, the rest of the food was taken by everyone as soon as it arrived.Order from J Sushi ? in Brea. Youll be glad you did!

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar
240 S State College Blvd, Brea, CA 92821, United States
Four of us arrived at 5:30 pm, the Friday of Christmas weekend. Although finding parking was a challenge, the restaurant itself was not that busy. The front desk staff was very friendly. There was a minimal wait to be seated. Most of the restaurant is wide open space with tables, a high ceiling, and a hard surface floor. I find this to be too noisy and not relaxing at all. There is also outside patio seating with heaters so you can bring your dog. I prefer inside where it is warmer. Luckily, they also have a more contained area with booth seating. I really appreciate this effort to cater to different peoples seating preferences. We got a great booth against the wall and were waited on immediately. This is not the place to go if you are looking for a lot of healthy options. Two of us opted for different hamburgers with half pound patties that came with your choice of one side. My husband got fish and chips that came with seasoned fries and a side of Cole Slaw, and the other (vegetarian) got a stir fry with tofu. All were well prepared and delivered to our table quickly and hot. The food itself and prices were average for similar types of restaurants. Highlights and recommendations are the garlic edamame appetizer and the seasoned French fries. I was disappointed that I chose fresh fruit as my side and just got a small piece of watermelon, but it was tasty considering it was out of season. My generous husband shared some of his seasoned fries, which were excellent. Next time, I will just give up the illusion if trying to be good and get the seasoned fries myself. They brought this electronic thing to the table for us to pay ourselves. I am not a big fan of the new trend of having customers do what employees used to do, but it seems this is happening in more and more places in an effort to save money and time. I know that there are some customers who actually prefer it this way.

Pho V1
955 E Birch St ste c, Brea, CA 92821, United States
After reading reviews about the best Vietnamese food in this area, we were still undecisive where we should eat. This place has 4.6 stars, and 84 reviews so far, but we thought we should give it a try still because it's only 0.1 mile away from our hotel. All we did was crossing the street. Our first impression was the owners and staff are super friendly. They welcomed us with smiles and very good customer service. The dishes are delicious!! We ordered house special phở, grilled pork rice, grilled pork chop rice, shaking beef rice and vermicelli noodle. Each one of the dishes is well flavored and the meat is cooked just perfect. The place is not that big, but it feels like family and makes you want to come back because the great customer service and the food is delicious. We recommend you to try their dishes.

XLB Dumpling Bar
437 S Associated Rd, Brea, CA 92821, United States
Was waiting for XLB Dumpling Bar to open this location for so long and its finally open! YAY! Only for takeout and delivery right now, but hopefully we will all get to experience that beautiful dining area! The new Brea location is located in a great plaza with numerous restaurants (mostly fast food/chain) today was their first day of soft opening so they gave away their Soupdumpling shirt to the first 100 customers. Those shirts are so nice! Unfortunately it was a scorching day in Brea well over 100 outside :( there is no shaded area but they set up canopies so no one would be in the sun. They were also handing out cold water bottles which was greatly appreciated and needed. While you wait in line, the first thing you can see is the dumpling room where there are ladies making their soup dumplings by hand. There are social distancing stickers placed in the ground, but it did feel a little cramped waiting inside. They fixed the issue by slowing down on how many orders they took at a time so that everyone wouldnt be waiting close together. Its only their first day so its completely understandable. Everyone was working efficiently and the max we saw someone wait was 30 minutes. Not too bad for grand opening day! What I really love is the dining area! A huge step up from their first location. Much improved seating area. There is a long bar area that really lives up to their name! When everything is back to normal, youll be able to sit there and have a FULL view of the kitchen. You can see the employees interact, steam and boil dumplings, and pack your order. Im excited to see how it will be once dining in will be available. I already know it will be popping whenever that happens. Restrooms are closed at this time to prevent the spread.Ordering was easy as the menu is posted right at the front counter on the plexiglass. It would be nice to have the menu digitally so we can decide while in line though. Hopefully this will be considered in the near future. Same exact menu as their Walnut location! I hope they introduce some more menu items as they settle in. More soup dumpling filling options and more noodle and rice options would provide a much needed variety. Ive already tried everything on the menu so its time for some new stuff!I always appreciate the hospitality of the owners here! They treat you like theyve known you for awhile and they build relationships with their customers. Even with the COVID situation, the service was great as always. We cant wait to see how far they will go and will continue to support!Go check it out if youre in OC or live near Brea! Have a dumpling date with friends at a park and enjoy!
