Thai BBQ & Noodles
9195 Valley View St, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
We ordered pad thai and panang curry. Neither had any flavor. The curry was like watery brown sludge with chunks of fatty beef in it. Not normal curry beef but stew beef. There was NO vegetables or anything else except the stew beef chunks. My husband had to basically soak his pad thai in Cholula to give it any flavor. I tried some in my curry to help give it flavor, but it didnt work... So I ate flavorless, vegetable-less, fatty beef brown soup with rice. So disappointed. I love Thai food, have eaten it in the most random places around the world, and never had anything close to as bad as this. The only redeeming part was the mango sticky rice which was good.

The Boardwalk at Cypress
5895 Katella Ave suite d, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I love The Boardwalk Cypress. Little Fishermans for when you are in the mood for great chicken, Fit Bites when you want to eat healthy and Piadina when you are craving some Italian. And lots of times, I pick up Pita 360 or Uroko Cafe to go. They have amazing Mediterranean. I highly recommend The Boardwalk Cypress.

Sandwich House

Ahn and Vu have always been my favorite place for bahn mi or croissant sandwiches. I’ve been a regular for several years now and they never fail me. I usually go for the #4 or the #19 (without onions). The beef stew is also excellent on a chilly day, available w/baguette or vermicelli noodles! They remember my face/name, my order, what I’ve been up to lately, etc. Recently due to covid they haven’t been getting as much business from the bulk of their customers at Cypress College across the street. Small businesses are always the most vulnerable in times such as these.Free sugared toast and jasmine iced tea with every order, and you can call ahead for pick-up to streamline the whole process. Please support this lovely sandwich shop- you won’t regret it! :)

Newcastle Produce
9230 Cypress St, Newcastle, CA 95658, United States
Have been going to Newcastle Produce for at least 10 years. My sister used to deliver fresh eggs, hence the discovery of this rare fresh produce grocer and deli. We usually purchase as many as possible of the daily, fresh, homemade peanut butter cookies ....which we freeze for afternoon tea. In addition, we choose several of the deli salads and some of the fresh vegetables. Sometimes, we indulge in the homemade salted caramels or other local delights. Always an adventure and great experience-the staff are friendly and offer their best service...if slow, it is because they care about the products they serve! A treasure!!!

Poki Roll
5721 Lincoln Ave c, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
When it comes to poke (poki), I dont slow my rollA hidden gem, quite literally. Located at the Oodles of Noodles Pho Restaurant plaza, Poki Roll is located in the middle of the strip mall. Thinking I was heading into a cramped, stuffy, no frills eatery, I was pleasantly surprised. Why? Because, like the last option on the scantron questions from many moons ago, Poki Roll was none of the above.Going in, I knew I wanted the $11 small poke bowl (with choice of 2 fish)/base roll combo. Miso soup included (unsure if also with take out)Spicy albacore/yellowtail bowl (small)-Small bowls only come with white rice, but nothing small about this ray of sunshine. I asked for everything on it, save for the jalapenos. Why, Rodney? Glad you asked. I asked for the spicy miso sauce, spicy mayo, basically all the other options that were spicy. Also, the roll I ordered had jalapeno, too. I feared too much heat would numb the palate, incapacitating my tastebuds. Everything tasted fresh, the fish packed with oceanic flavor. The 3 colored fish roe made my poke bowl seem festive.Mexican roll-Basically a crunch roll with flakes, the Mexican roll was a decent size, with rice that was perfect in texture & temperature. For the non-fish lovers, Poki Roll also offers chicken, beef, katsu & udon dishes. To satisfy the sweet tooth, boba smoothies & slushes are on hand to wash down your meal. Drinks are via cans, with a iced water dispenser by the utensils.Service was good. I was led through the ordering process, and the signage also helped break things down. A fair amount of seating, with private rooms accompanied with flatscreen TVs. A handsome décor adds a homey feeling to the restaurant.Parking is in a private lot, shared by Oodles of Noodles, a Laundromat & other businesses.Pokes gonna rock, pokes gonna roll! Pokes so hot, so dont let it go! Poki Roll is a great new food option to try. Fresh ingredients & reasonable prices helped Poki Roll achieve a much coveted spot on my food rotation list. When youre in the mood for poke, and even when youre not and want something else, make it a priority to stop by Poki Roll and see what all the fuss is about.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

The Kebab Shop
5247 Katella Ave ste 160, Cypress, CA 90720, United States
Luis at the cash register was very kind. German went above and beyond to solve a mistake that I had made when ordering which type of chicken I wanted on my plate. He didn't hesitate to change the type of chicken we wanted, and was always on top us - asking how the quality of the food was, and if we needed anything else. The food is all around pretty good. The falafels are crispy and very flavorful. My go-to order is: Seasoned Rice, Kale Salad, and the Falafel as the protein. Get the side of OG sauce to compliment both the falafels and the rice. The other two sauces are okay - not that big of a deal. I would overall say that KTS is my favorite quick service, Mediterranean type of fast food. You can modify the order to make it super healthy if you're health focused. However, most of the food, because of its cuisine origin, is healthy to begin with. Thank you German for taking care of us.

Bell South City
400 Cypress Ave, South San Francisco, CA 94080, United States
Lived here for about a year and loved this place at the very first beginning; left because of all the extra charges and highway noise.Things we love are the great apartment conditions (spacious and new), ameninties, safety, ok-ish management and reasonable rent renewal offer although we did not choose to stay.1. Extra charges and move out charges: rent is okay-ish but we end up paying about a lot more each month for all kinds of charges (service, fairly expensive sewage and trash etc) in addition. We've lived in more expensive apartments before but all charges included this is the probably the priciest and that's why we chose to look elsewhere. Be aware of the move out charges especially — this is the ONLY apartment I stayed over the MANY that actually bills all the cleaning they do on the tentants. We returned our apartments in a very clean state (we did thorough cleaning) with very minimal and hard to notice wall stains that's absolutely from normal wear and tear, yet they charged us 4 hours of wall painting, carpet cleaning that's billed standard by number of bedrooms you have, and a standard full professional cleaning service. I have lived in many apartments in major cities and all of them, without exception, returns full deposit with normal wear and tear and BellSourhCity is the one where I can say we kept it in the best condition possible even compared with our previous apartments. Looking at the charges I really wish we did not take the extra effort since they charge you in full anyways. We are yet to figure out why they billed us final electricity for 2 months when we already have a bill from PE&G.2. Noise from the 101. I think the apartment windows are already very soundproof but it's simply impossible to “mute” the 101. If you are a light sleeper don't pick one that's facing the highway. I'm usually okay with noise but let's just say that my sleep improved tremendously after moving out although I sometimes miss waking up early in the morning here.I think the management was top-notch when it was still Cadence by Sares Regis (everybody from the team really made you feel at home) but tbh BellSouthCity is still managing the place well. Right after handover the communication and maintenance were bad but I think they improved a lot I guess due to some other complains. I think if you want a good management and don't care as much about the cost this is a good apartment overall.

Sushi World
10953 Meridian Dr, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi World, and I must say, the culinary experience was quite delightful. The restaurant offers a wide selection of sushi rolls, and I had the opportunity to try the Cheetah Roll, Atlantic Dragon Roll, White Dragon Roll, and Spicy Tuna Rice Cake. Each dish was a treat for the taste buds, leaving me wanting more. The Cheetah Roll, filled with fresh salmon, creamy avocado, and delectable cheese, was a true standout. The combination of flavors was harmonious, and the presentation was visually appealing. It was a perfect balance of textures and tastes. The Atlantic Dragon Roll and White Dragon Roll were equally impressive. The rolls were beautifully crafted, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. The Atlantic Dragon Roll had a delightful combination of seafood, while the White Dragon Roll offered a unique twist with its fusion of flavors. Both rolls were a pleasure to indulge in.The Spicy Tuna Rice Cake was another highlight of my meal. The spicy kick of the tuna paired wonderfully with the sticky rice, creating a satisfying and flavorful dish. It was a creative take on traditional sushi, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.The service at Sushi World was exceptional. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided recommendations and ensured that my dining experience was pleasant. However, one aspect that could be improved upon is the waiting time. The wait for a table was longer than anticipated, which slightly affected the overall experience. In conclusion, Sushi World offers a fantastic selection of sushi rolls bursting with flavor. The Cheetah Roll, Atlantic Dragon Roll, White Dragon Roll, and Spicy Tuna Rice Cake were all delicious and left me thoroughly satisfied. The service was top-notch, although the waiting time for a table was longer than expected. Despite this minor setback, I would recommend Sushi World to sushi enthusiasts looking for a memorable dining experience.

A great little pho shop that has very savory and filling food.We ordered an appetizer of pork paste rolls. They were fantastic especially with that sauce that they provide. I got the chicken noodle soup or pho ga And my daughter got the beef pho with rare steak. Both dishes were absolutely perfect. This is a great little shop that definitely deserves more praise and attention.I will have to come out and try something other dishes as time goes on. This will be an easy task given that they have a pretty wide menu. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food is extremely delicious and very savory. Perfect kind of meal for overcast or cold day.

Cypress Center West

Usually not crowded, or a long wait, when using the self-checkout. If youre in a hurry and not getting more than a couple of items. Always clean and the employees are pleasant and laid back, maybe too much though... I had to be the one to stop a loaf who walked out with a 24-pack of Bud Light one Sunday afternoon, right after paying for my items in one of the self-checkout lines. This hoodlum walks out the door right past two employees. I was shocked and felt sympathy for them so I went to my car and put my bag of groceries into my car and then walked to the guy with his Free beers took them back and returned them to the young male employee of Ralphs who was still standing inside the store. Here are your beers, I said after placing them in the basket of one of the electric-powered carts just inside, and then I walked away. They also now opened a gas station on the corner and have very reasonable prices.
