Omg! Awesome bowl of noodle soup! This is my new to go spot from now on!! I ordered a #13 and I amped it up with a bunch of chili paste sauce that they have on the table and jalapeños.If you like flavor add a little sriracha, and then the barbecue looking sauce, chili paste pepper sauce and jalapeños. Best bowl of soup I ever had!Theres also a filipino shop next door that makes delicious crepes if you have sweet tooth after.

Fil-Am Cuisine
66 School St, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
This place is amazing. Had to drop the car off for an oil change next door at lunch time and immediately followed my curiosity and my nose. I got the 2 bbq skewers and rice (I wish I got the pancit since its the same price!) And ten pieces of lumpia and I. Loved. Every. Bite. This place draws you in with the perfect bbq smell for good reason. I got both chicken and pork skewers (one of each) and the chicken was perfectly smokey, almost dry (but still incredibly tasty) and the pork reminded me of Vietnamese pork chops (but smokier!). HUGE portions for the price! The service is standard for literally any Asian cuisine (direct, to the point, Next! What do you want? Anything else?type-dialogue, dont expect any courtesies, just solid, pragmatic, get-in-get-out-you-arent-here-to-chat service), polite enough to get by, and free water in the corner. They sell other dishes and, not being familiar with any of them, asked what some items were, and they honestly looked delicious. Alas, I will have to come back to try it all. The food is displayed out cafeteria style, but dont be fooled, they will grill the bbq the moment you choose it. This dive is a solid win and a new favorite. Whether or not youre in the neighborhood, give this place a try, its worth the portion, taste and price!!!
Bart Grocery
108 Los Olivos Ave, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
Ive been wanting to come here for a long time, read all the great reviews. Either nobody that comes here knows good Korean BBQ or I came on a bad day. First of all, you can not order the meat only ala carte, you have to order the lunch plate which comes with rice & japchae. I ordered the spicy pork, beef and chicken. There was more onions than meat. There was absolutely no taste. I asked for some hot sauce and she hands me packaged Chinese Sriracha sauce while I politely gave back to her. I asked for the Korean hot sauce and was charge $.50 each for a little tiny container. I brought the food home and my sons thought it was so bad that they didnt finish their plate. The hot sauce they gave me was more sour than hot, Ive never had any quite like it.
Chibog

So my brother Jim, brings my LW, myself, and my other brother here. First time for us, and being in the South City area, and nearby Daly City, there are more than a few Filipino restaurants to choose from. So this place must be good if we end up here right? And boy is it. Wedged into a tiny strip mall, that you might pass by a few times before you actually find it. To say the restaurant is small in an understatement, and evidently always packed. My old man (RIP) always contended that whatever ethnic restaurant you might visit, look in and if the place isnt filled with that particular ethnicity, Run, quickly. But seriously, there was a healthy majority of Pinoys there and a good mix all enjoying the fare. So, on to the actual food. Since I compare every Filipino restaurant cooking to my Lola, my Mom, and all my Aunts, they are at a slight disadvantage. We tried the standards, chicken adobo, calderreta, Sinigang, Machado, and longanisa. All were very good, tasted as they should, especially the Sinigang. Will I go back? OH YES, still have tho try their pinakbet, kare kare, and dinaguan.
Spicy House
6811 Mission St, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
Ever since Little Hunan on Mission/Crocker went out of business, Ive been looking for a new place to get HK style crispy noodles. Spicy House is decent. They have a good menu of Chinese dishes. This is the first time Ive seen tempura $9 at a Chinese restaurant. The tempura was the prefabricated type and came with sweet and sour sauce. It would have been better if it came with tentsuyu sauce. As for the house special HK style crispy noodles $12, there are better places for this. This came with a confusing mixture of meats (beef, chicken and shrimp) and vegetables (bok choy, broccoli, carrots, minced garlic, zucchini.) What it needed was some sesame oil in the sauce, Chinese BBQ pork, mini scallops or squid. The noodles should have been slightly browned to bring out the wok flavor. Regardless, service was excellent. The waitresses are friendly. This used to be Egg Roll King years ago. The lady cashier was always cool to me. My orders would be three egg rolls and their three dishes w/soup for $21.
Tselogs
6860 Mission St, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
Pleasantly surprised. Ive heard of Tselogs before, but never had the chance to go until today. We initially drove to Gateway Kitchen (Google said they were open. Got there and saw they had a sign saying theyre closed for the day), then we drove to Superstar (Same as Gateway, closed for the day). Was there something going on in the Filipino community? I had no idea. But we didnt give up. We considered Turo, but since Ive never tried Tselogs, we went there instead. Parking was a bit difficult to find. We found a spot on a side street. We entered the restaurant and waited to be seated. There were 7 or 8 tables, half of which were occupied. The lone server was busy with another group of customers. After awkwardly standing by the entrance for a couple of minutes, we were told that we were welcome to pick our own table and take our seats. We were given menus and were told to order and pay at the counter. We ordered Tocilog, sisig fries, lechon kare kare, and a slice of buko pie and waited about 15 to 20 minutes before food was served. The server and the cooks sounded Filipino, so I wasnt surprised that the food tasted delicious. What started out as a budget breakfast ended up being a proper brunch (complete with a price to match). We spent about $60 before tax and tip, but we did take quite a bit of it home. Also have to mention their interiors. Love the bar and the filipino touches. The restroom was clean, too. Didnt see a cocktail menu, so I do want to come back to see what they offer. Check them out!
Daiso
130 A Serramonte Center, Daly City, CA 94015, United States
Went on a Thursday afternoon on the day of this review. I love the selection and the prices and the cashiers are always nice and friendly. Found a reusable pour over coffee filter and salad spinner for a FRACTION of the cost that I would have to pay at Target.Today, I had an amazing shopping experience finding most of what I was looking for. Everything is well-organized and I always love the variety. The cashier who helped me was so friendly, patient and nice. (Possibly of Hispanic descent?) And I really appreciate her using the 2 reusable mesh bags I was purchasing as my shopping bags and offering to cut the tags. She was so pleasant to chat with and was a great wrap-up to my shopping experience. The shelf stocker staff are usually super focused and busy with putting up new items and keeping every shelf as full as possible. Most of them are polite, efficient, and will help me find what Im looking for.My one caveat is that there was a newer younger girl in an olive green hoodie who was helpful for 2 of the products I was looking for but when I got to my 3rd product, she said that all the kitchen items were in a certain general section and would not help me find any more specific items. Their kitchen section has several aisles. I dont know how she thought I was going to magically find all of the items on my own. (Thankfully other staff members were professional and helped me.) She really wanted me to look aisle by aisle, shelf by shelf by myself when she is the one working there stocking all the items and knowing exactly where every specific product is.This was very rude and lazy and although I was asking for the location of multiple products, that is my right as a customer. She is being paid to work there and I am paying for the products that help pay for her paycheck so I dont know why she had to cut me off at 3 questions/products. She needs to learn better customer service practices. She could have directed me to another staff member for help with the rest of my shopping list. (Though, they probably would wonder why she wouldnt choose to continue helping me, making her look worse.) The management needs to reinforce better customer service expectations and protocol with their new shelf stocking staff members.
Kukje Supermarket
2350 Junipero Serra Blvd, Daly City, CA 94015, United States
Korean supermarket with a small restaurant inside to sit down and eat. Inside the market they sell sushi, hot food like rice and fried chicken. They also sell all the bon chan sides you see at the korean restaurant. They have marinated meat and fresh produce aisle and a variety of frozen dumplings and noodles. Great place to shop for Korean snacks too.
Banana Island
273 Lake Merced Blvd, Daly City, CA 94015, United States
This place feigns importance nor does not respect a customers allergies! A lot of room for opportunity for their customer service and follow-up.We ordered the salted cabbage and bean curd soup (Did not specify it had shrimp on the menu, and I am moderately allergic to shrimp). When the soup came out, we politely asked our server (bald headed guy) if they could change the soup since I mentioned I was allergic to shrimp. The new bowl of soup came back suspiciously quick, and to my fear when I was halfway thru my cup there was a little shrimp piece- seems like they just scooped out the shrimp from the previous bowl!I work in hospitality, and I RARELY complain if I find customer service in a place I visit low-tier. Of course when our server stopped-by I let him know of the situation and apologized, however no follow-up from him after, did not even ask how I was doing if I am having allergic reactions (or dying!).My friends noticed he spoke to a lady in a suit and another server in glasses, because all three of them were looking at our table, and we thought there would be a follow-up from them, but nope! Did not even comp anything and charged us the full check.I only had mild allergic reactions, itching and mild swelling of my lips—— BUT, What if someone else is SEVERELY ALLERGIC to shrimp? Do better Banana Island management!!
