New Tung Kee Noodle House

CHECK YOUR BILL, THEY OVERCHARGE AND INSIST TIPS.They have very good fried egg rolls. I love it. Their sate noodle is a disaster, a terrible sauce mix with peanut sauce that I cannot finish the food. Their crunchy fried noodle is average. The space is spacious. The waiters are gentle and kind and serve quickly. But I cannot stand the cashier lady. When we said we want to split the bill (because we are a group of friends) she was so unhappy. I want to check the bill to see how much and she said they dont give bill.WHAT KIND OF RESTAURANTS THAT DO NOT GIVE YOU BILL TO CHECK THE MONEY? I insisted to see the bill and she gave me my friends card receipt after they paid, a credit card receipt, which is not a bill. I came back home and checked and realized she overcharged us 10 USD for a meal. And then she raised her voice at my friend and asked : NO TIP? NO TIP? and then she bump the jar on the table to make noise and embarrassed them. I was upset with that impolite action so I told her that no we dont tip.I dont mind about tipping but I dont tip over harassment.

TK Noodle

I have been here a few times. The food is always good, served hot and everything cooked just right with good portions. What I dont like about coming here is how the waiter rushes people so much, especially when it comes to ordering. He seems to always be the waiter whenever I eat here.Today, he walked up to a familys table with their tab while they were all still eating. He waited anxiously at the table asking to get paid while they are in the middle of their meal. I saw him stand there for what seemed like minutes as they scrambled around trying to find their money, only for him to say they do not accept card and must use their ATM machine located inside their restaurant. He proceeded to sit at the table across and stare them down until one of them stood up in the middle of eating to withdraw money. They left without finishing their food. After aggressively cleaning up their table, he came over to me with my bill. Luckily, I had my cash ready but the guy is still very ridiculous for the way acts towards his guests.

TK Noodle

TK Noodle brings back a familiar vibe for me because I used to eat at their location by SJSU off E. Williams in the early 2000s after classes/studying. They were open late and you can count on them for a bowl of noodles with their hodgepodge of mystery meats. Seriously, I cant tell what some of their meats are. It is always this gray colored meat. This afternoon, I was at Lion Plaza and had to stop by to get their #8, combination noodles $14.50. This was worst than I remembered it. Meh textured egg noodles, average soup base, mystery meats and pork grinds on top. The pros are, service is fast and the food is edible most of the time.

If I could give 0 stars I really would. Im not sure if the cashier on my receipt is the correct name but according to this her name was An Ngoc L. Super rude service, it was my 1st time there and I asked about sizes and she looks at me without answering and says anything else? As if I had ordered. When I asked about the sizes again she scratches her eye and points to the side with the most annoyed look at the size comparisons and I tell her while pointing which one I want. Then she scratches her eye again and says so which one? And I smile at her and repeat the same process. She does the same thing to my friends who order their food, also being here for the very 1st time and I cant understand it at this point how someone can be so rude, responding as if she shouldnt have to assist us and as if looking at us is painful. I paid for the rest of my friends food and drink and when she hands me back my card and receipt to put in a tip she finally smiles at me. Ive never been known to not tip my servers just because Ive never had this experience before. When I received my drink it was wrong. I did not have the heart to have it replaced out of fear they would treat me the same way. I am not coming back here anytime soon.

Kensho Social
919 Story Rd #1100, San Jose, CA 95122, United States
The first and only spot you can get Mazemen ramen, otherwise known as broth-less ramen, in the Bay Area! Im so glad this place opened up because its such a unique (and yummy) concept!Mazemen is a delicious Japanese ramen with no broth. Instead, you have thick noodles topped with a variety of garnishes such as meat, egg, scallions, etc. Its served with flavorful sauce on the bottom and is meant to be mixed all together, almost like a bibimbap. At Kensho Social, the mazemen is served with complimentary rice, seasoned vinegar, and spice. You mix the noodles, adjust seasoning with vinegar and spice, and eat! Once youre done with the noodles, you can add the rice afterwards for another meal + to soak in the flavor. Its actually a lot of food.WHAT I ORDERED:1. OG mazamen ($13.95): served with ground pork, poached egg, seaweed, crispy shallot, and garlic. You can choose your garlic level and I love garlic so I obviously chose heavy. This was my favorite mazemen! Very savory + rich in umami. It kind of reminds me of mee goreng.2. Tan Tan Mazemen ($15.95): this one wasnt my favorite but still tasted very good. Its vinegar-y and sweet. I tasted some sesame paste that makes it creamy as well.Service was amazing. You order at the front and find a seat inside or outside. The owner came up to us and asked us if weve ever tried Mazemen before and explained the whole concept + his vision. It was amazing to see the passion translate into the food.TLDR: Innovative concept and the only one in the Bay Area. Its worth trying at least once since the food is reasonably priced and yummy!

Com Tam Thanh
905 S Bascom Ave, San Jose, CA 95128, United States
Their specialty is broken-rice dishes and they do it very well. I always get it with shredded pork skin and Korean beef rib (Cơm Tấm Bì Sườn Bò Đại Hàn) and have never been disappointed. Broken rice offers a textural variation more than flavorwise so the soft pork rinds add a heap of both. The crosscut Galbi ribs are drizzled with savory green-onion oil and fried shallots. On the side, some cucumber and pickles (Đồ Chua, the familiar daikon-and-carrot mix along with cabbage) are more than just a garnish and impart a crunchy zing. Accompanied by blended fish sauce (Nước Chấm) and a small—insanely hot—Thai chili pepper, the flavors meld kaleidoscopically, ringing totally authentic.I usually also order the grilled pork sausage roll appetizer (Nem Nướng Cuốn) which, along with the entree, fill me up for the rest of the day. Like regular spring rolls (Gỏi Cuốn) they come wrapped in moistened rice paper and need to be eaten immediately before it dries out stiff. In addition to the veggies you find in fresh spring rolls, there is a surprise crunch provided by fried wonton wrapper. Dipped greedily into the cool peanut sauce topped with chopped, roasted peanuts and a dollop of sriracha, the warm meat is a counterpoint in temperature, taste, and bite.I don't bother with the many other dishes they offer. They may be wonderful for all I know but this restaurant boasts a specialty in its name and that's what you should go for.

Dng Pho & Coffee
5643 Cottle Rd, San Jose, CA 95123, United States
My family and I had an extremely disheartening experience on the evening of October 26th at Á Dông Pho & Coffee. We arrived at the establishment with our certified service dog, who provides essential support to our son, who is in a wheelchair. What should have been a pleasant dining experience quickly turned into a distressing ordeal when we were denied service due to our service dog.Upon entering the restaurant, we were met with hostility from the owner and staff. We were promptly informed that if we wanted to dine there, we would have to do so outside because of our service dog. This came as a shock to us, as we were fully aware of our rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which clearly states that individuals with disabilities and their service dogs are allowed access to public places, including restaurants. To make matters worse, when we tried to explain our situation and show our service dogs ID card, which clearly states that he is a certified service dog, the owner dismissively waved us off and refused to even look at it. The lack of willingness to engage in a reasonable conversation or verify our service dogs legitimacy was deeply disheartening. The most heartbreaking part of this experience was the impact it had on our son. He was emotionally traumatized by the complete lack of respect and understanding shown towards him and his service dog. As a young boy with a disability, he already faces numerous challenges in his daily life, and his service dog provides him with the companionship and assistance he needs to navigate the world more comfortably. To see his distress and confusion as we were denied entry to the restaurant was heart-wrenching.This incident highlights the importance of awareness and education regarding the rights of individuals with disabilities and their service animals. Businesses, especially those in the hospitality industry, should be well-informed about ADA regulations and should treat all patrons with disabilities and their service animals with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Amazing! I regret not trying this place earlier. Ive now had the vermicelli noodles with pork and shrimp as well as their fried rice. Both really hit the spot and is across from the market beer company for a delicious beer to pair it with. The vermicelli dishs pork was deliciously fried and tasted almost like bacon to me and it was just so damn delicious. Today, I tried the fried rice and it was even better depending if youre in the mood for noodles or rice. They have this fried (think crispy) rice, along with a good variety of bbq pork, chicken (tight meat), corn, peas, carrots that completed an amazing meal. This will definitely be my go-to in all of San Pedro now whenever Im in here for a beer
