Just as the first autumn cold snap hit, THAT'S when the heating failed to respond. When we set the thermostat to call for heat, we could hear the furnace start warming up. A couple of minutes later the blower came on … and then it all shut down. We tried several times, but no luck.Unfortunately, we had very little experience with heating/air conditioning firms, but after talking with a knowledgeable friend, we got a strong recommendation — call Brooks Robertson at KC Home Services.Brooks came by the next morning, opened the furnace up … and found a 20+ year old system riddled with corrosion and looking in every way like it was on its last legs. His recommendation: If we wanted reliable heating (and cooling) for years to come, retire the old system and install a new one. Fixing “the old jalopy,” while a lot cheaper in the short run, wouldn't get us much additional mileage.Brooks gave us estimates on two new systems, one more energy-efficient but also more expensive than the other. Together, we went over our utility bills and it became obvious that the more efficient system would take many years to pay for itself in lower bills. We chose the less expensive, but less efficient option. After Brooks left, a couple of other guys showed up that same afternoon to remove the old furnace. It was messy work, but when they were done, they left the place spic and span. Unfortunately, that was on a Friday, and although the outside temperatures warmed up a little, we spent the weekend in sweaters and extra socks. But bright and early on Monday, Morgan Kang and an apprentice, Brandon, showed up with a new furnace. They worked all day, and that evening we had a nice warm house. The next day Morgan and Brandon came back and finished the job, hooking up the air conditioning's outside equipment, a noticeably larger, more robust condenser unit than the old one.Brooks, Morgan and their team clearly knew what they were doing. Solid professionals, and not just in a technical sense. They explained everything clearly, patiently and politely. Throughout the process, we also heard several times from Virginia in the office. She'd check — even into the early evening — to make sure everything was going well, and she unfailingly sent us emails and texts to let us know who'd be coming and when we could expect them. It was another mark of professionalism and customer care that's not just lip service. We're not expecting any more trouble, but next time we might need some help, KC Home Services is the company we'll surely call.

Safari West
Franz Valley Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, United States
We drove from Sacramento to Safari West and found the site easily. We parked next to the main office to check in and get our tent assignment. Vehicles arent allowed on the campus so we had to leave our vehicle and carry our things to the tent. They dont have signs posted to help you find your way. It was cold and raining. Im carrying a suitcase and cooler pluss my 10 year old is losing patience with finding the tent area. We walked down 3 dead-end trails and decided to go back to the office to ask for help. The attendant helped us navigate through the property and we finally found it.The tent is constructed well. It has wood floors, heavy canvas walls with roll up window covers. The beds are typical low budget hotel beds with rustic wood frames. The bathroom ceiling is open to the outside and its about 35 degrees. It has a shower with hot water but its way to cold in that bathroom for me to consider taking a shower. The room has an old space heater that takes the chill out of the air. The beds have electric blankets as well. I also brought my own space heater because I read some other reviews that said the room was too cold. I ended up using my heater the whole time and the tent maintained 60 degrees. We felt comfortable with the extra heater and cooler full of munchies from home.We had a dinner reservation for 5pm. For me and my daughter it was $85. The atmosphere was nice but the food was unedable. I noticed people sending untouched dinner plates back to the kitchen. I ended up sending mine back as well. The rice was very dry, the mac-n-cheese was grainy and the brisket was rubbery. I brought cup-o-noodles soup from home and we just added hot water and ate in our tent. Its hard to see once the sun goes down. The front desk didnt offer flashlights. I brought a lantern and that was used on many occasions.I dont like feeling frustrated or defeated when Im supposed to be having fun with family. The grounds at this place arent user friendly. My daughter is asking what kind of birds are we looking at? And I cant find a sign containing any information. I cant research anything on my phone because theres no service. So we dont even know what we are looking at. Its just a bird I guess. Or maybe its a secret that they dont want us to know. Either way, it frustrates me. Its not a fun experience ?

Asia Mart
2481 Guerneville Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, United States
First time customer/buyer. Googled the item I was looking for, and ended up on Asia Market. Easy online shopping. Found the item and added it to the cart. Added a few more and checked out.I was kept up-to-date, upon shipping and to the actual delivery. An important fact here....the box of items were well packed. The four packages of noodles and bottle of tonkatsu sauce and a bunch of snacks arrived safely at my doorstep. Will definitely go to Asia Market again!!! Thank you.

Macs

This is a nice spot near Courthouse Square. It has been around for a while, which speaks to the great service and good food that they provide.Service: Prompt and courteous. They were around often to offer refills on water, coffee, and ask how the food was. Food came out of the kitchen together, and within 10 minutes of ordering (10AM on a Saturday.)Food: I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with Scrambled Eggs. The hash was really good. Full of flavor, cooked to order, and not burned at all. The scrambled eggs were also fresh, warm, and cooked consistently.Oh, the coffee was on point. It didnt taste like Truck Stop brake fluid brand coffee. It had flavor, but not the kind of flavor that wakes you up due to your tastebuds wanting to end things over your choices. Great for a cafe coffee.Ill be adding this place to the breakfast rotation. I just wish I had seen the Biscuits and Gravy they had for the special. That is my benchmark, and a personal favorite. I guess Ill have to get that next time.

Ippinn Udon & Tempura
1880 Mendocino Ave D, Santa Rosa, CA 95401, United States
We went this Udon place for dinner during our weekend trip to Santa Rosa and we absolutely loved it! We ordered a Japanese style tonkotsu noodle, a Chinese style banban mian (spicy) and some pot stickers, they all taste delicious and kind of different to what we had in other Ramen shops, I think probably because theyre doing a great job combining the best of Japanese and Chinese flavors. I also appreciate the hospitality of the owner, he checked on us many times to make sure were good and also gave us some extra noodles because, apparently, my daughter had an unusually good apetite that day, Loool. We will definitely visit again when were in town next time.

Jalapeno Mexican Grill
1630 Sebastopol Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95407, United States
Food is great here. Got take out and I had the Birria nachos and my husband had the Birria burrito. I am very picky with Birria, i make it myself and this stuff was some of the best I have had in Santa Rosa. The meat was tender (not just shredded but tender), it had great flavor, layered flavor/dimension and it wasn't overly spicy. All the things you look for in Birria. I loved that the chips for the nachos were fresh. My husband loved his burrito as well. My brother has tried their ramen and loves it! I will definitely be coming back and trying something else. Such a great find!

Willis Wine Bar
1415 Town and Country Dr, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, United States
Can't comment on the food as I didn't stay long enough to be served. I literally received no service for over 20 minutes. I had come to enjoy the gifts of today's sunshine and beauty. But also to celebrate the beauty of the human spirit of kindness. Well I can say without a doubt, A unequivocally and wholeheartedly that I was not the recipient of service? Any attention or kindness at this restaurant. The hostess a wonderful young lady felt sorry for me so you offered me service. My server literally did not acknowledge. can say with certainty this is not a restaurant I will ever visit again. Let me explain, I always wonder when I see one review vastly different from the others, I wonder why. I'm the only person of color in the restaurant. I thought of not mentioning the ethnicity/ because I didn't want to put in that realm but rather the spirit of people being kind to other people. Someone I've said - I may get the order incorrect- I'm accountable to your, I'm responsible for you and dependent on you m- because we are all connected. So posted not seeking a punitive response but a human response to do better?.so I'm sitting here and I'm looking at my server and I realize she is up in age - super busy and I wanna in the spirit of positive intent, making no assumptions and not taking it personal. Keeping in mind my server likely had no ill intent- and to practice - the art of assuming positive intent. I decided to stay and the service has great improved- augmenting one more time -stay away.My last edit you have to give people a second chance to improve and get better. Want to give me a second chance so I'll definitely go back. I stayed in Smashburger, which was delicious by the way.

Quick Sushi Santa Rosa

When I went into the restaurant was small and homly I was unsure as I got there I ordered in a touch screen there is also cashier that also takes order. And I order the Aki power if you a big tempura fan as I am and a bento called rainbow bento. Then I was unsure of giving the receipt to the chief so I had told him he said yeah I got it the order. As the lady was serving me and a family member she was very nice and sweet (gentleman) if you want to take your girl to a restaurant this is the one.Tempura was fresh the rainbow platter which had the crab melts in your mouth. They also do ramen noodles and fried chicken if you are not in to cold foods or fish I was very thankful for this experience.
