Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
1249 S Lone Hill Ave, Glendora, CA 91740, United States
As much as I hate to say this. Quality went down and prices went way up. I generally only go here twice a year for the nachos during cinco de mayo and 4th of July. Last several years the house sauce was almost sticky honey like. The sour cream was smooth and creamy. You could actually see the onions and red peppers( missing red). This time the chips were very over cooked, the cream and sauce was very watered down. There was zero house sauce taste even in the chicken itself. The chicken was extremely dry. Positive note is the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately this is a case of shrinkflation. I was hoping this was just a bad day. Today we ordered 5 as a family and there was even less house sauce and sour cream. I had to go to the store to purchase more cream and added teriyaki sauce to make them a bit better. The wontons were good just good to look at.

TJS Subs

The owner and his wife are asian. Their is a little tiny language barrier when you order food in english but it isnt that bad. The owner is really nice. The only thing you have to answer to is combo no combo, everything, and do you want small or large? Personally i think most of the ingrediants are typical over the counter hams and turkeys but the beauty of this place lies in his quality of bread, the size, and all the stuff he jams into the bread. I always order the turkey bacon and cheese. For only $8 this sub is already bursting at the seam but he really loads up on the bacon to top it off. I always question how he makes a profit since bacon is pretty pricey. If you love bread, this is the place for you. The bread is never, and i mean never... stale. you can easily just have half of the sub and eat the other half for dinner. i have been a customer of pjs for about 8 years.
One Veg World
178 S Glendora Ave, West Covina, CA 91790, United States
Jan 3 a little after 3pm.I have gone to One Veg World in West Covina many times since it opened. I'm not a vegetarian but for meatless food I think it is pretty good and have recommended it to people who are vegetarian. For forty-one years since I was 14 I have had a lot of restrictions on what I can eat. I recently was placed on greater restrictions, I wanted to eat out but couldn't decide on what would be safe, I decided on One Veg World and that I'd cheat a little on this day. Before walking in I bought a 2in x 1in brownie square. I had reservations about bringing food into the restaurant but since it was such a tiny morsel I knew it would be gone by the time I was seated and I had planned on having a large meal with dessert, surely my business would be desired.Upon arrival with half of the brownie already eaten I was greeted by a smiling young lady who said I wasn't allowed to bring in non-vegetarian food. I thought she was joking, she wasn't. She said as a vegetarian restaurant it was a cruelty free zone as animals are regularly tortured. I asked her how she know if animals were tortured in the making of the brownie…she smugly challenged me and asked me how I knew animals weren't, I told her I didn't but how did she know? She said it probably was…I told her “probably” is not a yes. I told her that for years I have been severely restricted on what I could eat and I just wanted to have a nice meal. She again smugly challenged me saying that she can't have gluten, I told this woman who is almost one third my age what I couldn't have and she quickly ignored and over talked me and it became a contest of who is more restricted in their diet.Someone else became involved and verified it was their policy, and the original girl weakly said that no outside food was allowed, the other girl said I could finish it outside and then come back. Of course by then I had no desire to eat there. If the problem was with outside food being brought it, then it should have been mentioned in the beginning “I'm sorry sir, but we don't allow outside food of any kind.” Considering I was two bites away from finishing it I would have simply left and probably not come back, technically a peppermint candy in my mouth would have violated that policy. But that wasn't the issue, it was the issue of bringing in a brownie that she said she knew was made from abused animals because she used to eat those brownies…brownies which came in plain cellophane with no name or labeling, for all we knew it was a vegetarian brownie. It was a vegetarian/political issue for her that she was determined to force on me.As for cruelty free I wonder if the coffee beans your bottled coffee comes from is picked by people who are respected and not taken advantaged of? What about clothing, sure they're not made from sweat shops? Do you ban diamonds, or how about leather jackets? For that matter what if a parent brings in a baby being bottle fed? The issue with that brownie is milk after all. Do you ban parents from nourishing their babies with milk? This should have been handled in a different way:Flat out banning outside food vegetarian or not.Simply sitting me down and knowing by the time I was seated the “offending” food would have been consumed. One thing which should have never ever been done was for me to be challenged and smugly talked down to, a customer doesn't jump through hoops and perform tricks in order to be served.Upon leaving I did something which I have never ever done to a customer service worker in my 55 years of living, I used profanity and called her a profane name. And I questioned why I did this? It was her smug challenging of me instead of simply stating she was doing her job and she was bound by the rules of her employer. Instead she made it a personal issue rather than an issue of restaurant policy.
Glendora Public Market

I like this place. They allow dogs so keep that in mind if you dont like dogs. What I cant stand is that management allows the cleaning crews to use Fabuloso or some REALLY strong smelling cleaning sprays that it interferes with my eating. The guy would be spraying down tables getting the chemicals in the air while Im eating at the table right next to it. Management needs to change it to some sort of unscented or less potent mix. I dont want all that ammonia in the air when Im eating. That said, the prices are kind of high. And the foods are better than average. Parking is pretty limited on weekends. Reminds me of Anaheim packing district. Just simply not enough parking. In terms of foods, the Bagels are not a traditional bagel. Its really big, not dense, and not what I would consider a bagel. More like a chewy bread. The minimum standard of a REAL bagel is Einstein Bros. This doesnt mean the standard. I got a coffee at the coffee shop, and its sort of the Intelligentsia type of coffee shop. Floral notes in their beans. If youre into that. Most people are accustomed to the over roasted Starbucks coffee beans, and thats what I prefer. Lumpia fries at the Filipino joint was BOMB. Id get that Everytime. They got the thin McDonalds style fries. I would like to see a bigger fry, like the ones at the Hat, but still its good. Probably the best thing Ive had here. Then the Detroit pizza was underwhelming at the golden spot in the corner. The sauce has no flavor and the pepperoni cups were more like regular undercooked pepperoni with maybe 3 of them cupped. Oven was too hot for sure. Dough was slightly burned but the toppings werent. Their burgers are amazing tho. Best burger in town for sure. Great sauce, great meat and veggies. The bun was really greasy, but other than that also the best thing here. Check out my pics.
Paris Baguette
301 S Glendora Ave, West Covina, CA 91790, United States
I was extremely disappointed and let down. I was craving for a TRUE french bakery this isnt it. If you go after work there is barely anything left . This is a franchisee not a small baker own.its all mass produce to fit the company standard . Not sure why its called paris baguette the only thing french were the pain au chocolat croissant pain au raisin and the baguette .its GROSSLY OVERPRICED 3.5$ for sweets and donuts mochi . Fyi curry pan mochi donuts and sponge cake are all asian sweet . The twisted donuts are american . Its basically an overpriced 85 degree with less choices and a bunch of fusion . My guess is the chain is asian own because its definitely sweets you will find in asia NOT FRANCE . This is false advertising!!! And seriously 35$ for 10 mochi donuts the company is out of their mind on the prices .these are 1.75$ if u go to regular chain donut store and 85 degree is 2$ or less per sweet .this is also under an apartment complex . The store is clean and new . A huge thank you for the staff for all wearing mask ? the place is sanitary .there is barely any parking around its really inconvenient. Coffees are affordable prices started at 1.99 $/2.49$ for a small . Go there for the coffee you can find better sweets at 85 and better cakes elsewhere . All those sponge cake with load of sugar and cream are just plain nasty and dry ? this was simply not my cup of tea . I will stick to 85 for asian sweets .and PLEASE STOP CALLING IT FRENCH clearly anyone saying its french never went in france or had real french food . You cant just slap the word french on everything to inflate prices ? the fruit tart was beyond disgusting the custard texture and flavor was all wrong and cheap.the chocolate buns were cheap chocolate pudding filling ? Will never purchase sweets there again. It taste FACTORY MADE .

I will start by saying I have never done a review before, ever. Positive or negative but I had such a bad experience I felt the need to share. We got a $10 off coupon in the mail and we were excited to use it. The restaurant isn't super close to our home so I had my husband pick it up after work. I told him anything sushi. My husband walks in and asks if they have sushi. The guy says yes and hands him a sushi menu. My husband then says I'm ready to order and the guys says “oh the sushi guy isn't here. It's going to be 10-15 minutes until he's back but that should be okay right?” By husband then says he'll just order something else. He orders the Kung Pao scallops for me and the deal of the day for himself, honey chicken. The guy says they don't have enough scallops but they can use half shrimp. He says that's fine. He asks if it comes with rice and the guys says no. My husband gets home and for $20 (which should have been $30 but we had the coupon) we got two entrees that were maybe the container size of a chipotle bowl. No sides, no rice, no noodles. Just the entree. The food was nothing special. Wasn't bad but wasn't something I'd order again. Small portions and quite expensive.
The crawfish lounge
1011 S Glendora Ave, West Covina, CA 91790, United States
We were seated, and it took them 30 minutes to take our order, the place isnt that big, and they still took a very long time to bring us our drinks, it then took 1 hour and 43 minutes to get our food, everyone in our party began to get their food at random times and It was just rediculous, The food was over fried and disgusting with no flavor. The employees looked clueless as to who to give the food to when it was clearly stated that every person had a number for their food. Then I spent $85 just on myself, the michelada I was told it was a $2 special and come to find all they bring you is the cup with the rim fixed and half an inch of liquid from the bottom of the cup with clamato, the beer had to be ordered separately, when normally you would order a michelada at any restaurant, Its allready prepared for you with beer and all, this is unheard of then they have the odasity to charge an additional $17.60 for service charge on top of my bill which amounted to $117.18 and still expected a large tip, this was just for myself, I can get better food at weinerchnitzel than this I highly recommend against this place, our birthday party was a complete disaster... im verry unhappy with the way they treated our guests and then the fat girl at the entrance was very rude and tried to shut me up when I wanted to ask her a simple question...
70s Saga Ramen & Curry
204 S Glendora Ave, West Covina, CA 91790, United States
It was late night, I was dying for some Japanese curry and sushi.Found this place online and I ordered to go for this places katsu curry and also rainbow roll. Their sushi rice are actually just regular rice, not seasoned which is kind of disappointing for a sushi place since it diminishes the flavor. The fishes they used in the roll are not the freshest fish, or the better area of the fish, as the fish tasted a bit off. I can see why this place didnt really collect the best review.Their curry was not bad, however the rice portion seem like it was more than the curry and meat for the price.Would order to go again for curry as there isnt many places that make curry now. However wont ever come back here for sushi to go since their rice is so bland and unflavored.
Corner Bakery

4/15/24 We decided to give this restaurant another chance and I think we are officially done coming back here. I think covid was their downfall. Now the service, quality and atmosphere has gone down hill. I don't think anyone seems to care about customer service. I think they should close and put another restaurant here. We used to come 2 times a month and now we never want to come back. Carl had the turkey club. It basically looked like a sandwich you would receive in prison. There was 1 slice of turkey. Then they forgot the bacon which didn't make it that much better. The sandwich was $12.39 and it was really worth $6.00!I had the shrimp pasta and berry pecan salad. The pasta had no flavor and then the salad was missing both berries. When I brought it back up she said they were out of berries. They substituted some apples but it would have been nice to been informed and given an option to what I wanted instead.Management doesn't even both to read the reviews to see how they can improve anything. Anyway, doesn't waste your time or money coming to this restaurant. :(We used to really enjoy coming here. Then after covid they started closing at 8:00 on a weekend which I thought interesting. The food can be good but a lot of times it's not hot. A previous visit the food was cold so we asked them to heat it up. 15 minutes later we asked about it and they had forgotten about it. They didn't even offer a pastry as an apology. We decided to give them another shot a year later and it was a little better. The requested items that we wanted served hot were not so we had to wait for them to hear it up. This place could be good but it's alright. Plus the carpet is really worn and old and needs to be replaced. They don't seem to really pay attention to the details.
