Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
27000 Alicia Pkwy Suite D, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
I called in my order. I asked for two orders of Kung Pao Chicken with extra peanuts and chili for both. I also asked for two bags of crunchy noodles for each order. The guy on the phone Bill was a great guy with a nice personality. When I arrived to pick up my order suddenly I was being helped by the lady owner of the franchise. I made sure to ask if both had extra peanuts and chili in both. She never really answered me. Then I reminded her that I wanted two bags of crispy noodles for each order. After rolling her eyes at me she continued filling my order. When I got home both orders had no extra peanuts or chili. When I went to the bags of crispy noodles there were just three and on top of everything else she gave me no soy sauce. I was willing to pay for the extras but I could tell this lady doesnt believe in pleasing her customers as much as nickleing and dimeing her customers.

Cinpolis Luxury Cinemas

Decided to take a long lunch and by long lunch I meant bounce out of work early and get my movie on. To all those new to the Luxury movie game, this is not Regal or Edwards or Ultra, this is Cinepolis. Frankly the United States just wasnt ready for the world wide movie giant. They have been doing posh theaters all over for a long time now and we here in the States just hasnt caught on. This is my 4th Cinepolis Ive been to in Socal and although not my most anticipated or in my opinion the nicest, its OCs first foray into something I honestly thought would start in LA and work its way down, not the other way around and something that has been a long time comingBear in mind the tickets are pricey and unless you have money this is not somewhere you can go on a weekly basis. I cant imagine having kids and taking them here. This is so much better than almost every theater most people have probably been to and with the amenities they provide its absolutely worth the money, whether you order food or drinks or not. Its a perfect place to bring someone out. The odds of having loud, annoying, patrons, kids or a bad experience is low. Most parents wouldnt bring their kids to a theater that allows drinking. Not all showings do this, so check ahead. Arclight allows you to pick your seats and yes they are bigger and they are a little less crowded, they have nothing on Cinepoliss fully lounge lazy boy recliners. Its more comfortable than most peoples couches.Food and drink is what will kill you. Were all so used to snacking at theaters that getting popcorn or sweets and sodas will hurt your wallet, but again I say this isnt your average theater and you shouldnt expect your average experience. They have a real kitchen with chefs and you order from your seat and they have a full bar, the lounge is nicer than most peoples homes as well. What I suggest is to have dinner elsewhere, grab a few drinks before the movie and have your mind blown.Only downfall is they dont have the highspeed reel showings of some of the techiest movies. No IMAX.The revolution has begun and there will always be resistance, but people need to get over their preconceived notions of a cinematic experience, because no one is denying the intimacy, the convenience and ambiance are worth a look, but people are so used to the matinee discount they forget they serve sushi (not very good though) here. They cant comprehend what its like to not drink and 60 oz soft drink or eat a tub of popcorn with candy from a box. You cant go to Mortons and expect sizzler or pay sizzler prices or sizzler experience. Maybe that means you use this to treat yourself from a half dozen other movies you watch. It took me a while to get used to the prices of a Luxury Theater and it will be that way for many, but as far as comparison to other supposed Luxury theaters its not close. Cinepolis threw it all out the window while Arclight is just Hollywood upgraded through and through. Youll always have people on their cell phones or chatting it up and you cant please everyone, but I think its safe to say everyone that comes here finds regular theaters annoying enough to pay the extra money for the luxury or convenience or experience.I prefer Del Mars location due to the shopping center and surrounding areas. I prefer La Costa since its close to me, but if I ever want to splurge and take a girl out and she lives in OC, Im bringing her here.
Nalus Hawaiian Fish Grill & Tutus Kitchen
27000 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
Wow I am floored. This is easily the best Hawaiin in the surrounding area (Aliso Viejo, Lake Forest, Irvine).I got the spicy salmon plate (picture to be included). It came with rice, Hawaiin Mac salad and colesaw.First things first, the Salmon was FRESH. You can tell it hasnt been frozen. When you cook, prepare and eat fish, it becomes very easy to tell when it has been dethawed. The skin was still on it, which was pan seared perfectly. Spicy aioli on top with a little fresh lemon squeeze. Delicious. The Mac was awesome as well. Not cold to the teeth. You can tell it hasnt been sitting in a fridge for a few days *cough Ralphs*.The coleslaw was on point to. Ive never been a huge fan of coleslaw usually because it is too tart. This was perfect and I actually ate it!
Good Choice Sushi Restaurant
30251 Golden Lantern # F, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
This review pains me a great deal as I have known the owners for nearly 20 years. I used to frequent the establishment when I first moved to the area in 2002; but that tapered off after a few rather unfortunate incidents involving poor service in and around 2010. The company began to employee younger and younger servers who did not seem to understand customer service, which I often consider a lost art form.I would periodically visit the establishment for convenience sake as I had adjusted my expectations accordingly. Slowly thereafter I would cease visiting the establishment, opting for other sushi places in the area or getting my orders as to-go orders to avoid the underwhelming customer service.I left the area temporarily in 2020 and returned in 2022. I decided to give Good Choice Sushi another shot and I was surprised that I was receiving good customer service and good sushi; but this did not lost long. What was most unfortunate was that the sushi chefs appear to control the establishment. For some reason, the establishment did not seem to have an actual manager, instead leaving the managerial tasks to the sushi chefs, which was quite unfortunate and many of them were quite rude and cocky. The straw that broke the camels back was after I visited Good Choice sushi after a short hiatus. There were only 2 servers on one of their sushi roll nights. You naturally expect some delays when specials are running as opposed to the nights I would go there absent any specials as I was visiting the establishment on a frequent basis, either Friday or Saturday and either a Monday or a Wednesday. I was a good patron and I tip well, so I expect good customer service. That night, however, the server was what we in the restaurant business call in the weeds, which happens; but in such cases, adjustments for poor staffing need to be provided. I ordered some sushi rolls on special with some cut rolls. I tried to get the servers attention several times before the 9:00 cut-off for the sushi roll special as well as to order some additional cut rolls; however, the sushi chef refused to accept the order advising the server that it was past the deadline. The server was experienced, so she should have advocated for the customer and for the fact that it was her fault because the establishment was understaffed and she was the one who failed to come to the table despite my repeated attempts to gain her attention for over 15 minutes. That was the last time I visited Good Choice Sushi in Laguna Niguel. That was about 4 months ago.The funny thing is many of us locals to this establishment have commonly referred to Good Choice Sushi in Laguna Niguel as: Good Choice? Is it? I now have to conclude after giving Good Choice Sushi repeated attempts to overcome what many of us know about the establishment as No. It isnt a Good Choice!I am sorry, Michelle, because I believe you are a good person; but a poor restaurateur. You need to hire employees who care about the establishment and your customers. You cannot spend most of your time at your other location and leave the customers who provided you with the means to open the other location feeling dissatisfied, displeased, and neglected. Loyalty goes both ways, and I am sad to see that you do not value your customer base in Laguna Niguel as you once did all those years ago.
