Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
25960 The Old Rd, Valencia, CA 91355, United States
Now I remember why Ive only been to Pick up Stix once. It looks and feels like a Chinese fast food restaurant. But the menu and the price feels like a full service restaurant, even if you dine in.It was a little confusing to order. They didnt hand us a menu. We had to look all over the board. The combos arent available after 3 pm. I guess the entrees come with rice because he offered white or brown rice. If I wanted fried rice or chow mien I would be charged $2 more to replace the rice, not beside the rice.I ordered curry tofu. It had no curry. Maybe they sprayed a fine mist of curry flavor on it, possibly. The rice was super dry and chewy. I EXPECTED a juicy bowl filled with creamy curry sauce and veggies with a healthy serving of tofu. I GOT a takeout box with what looked exactly like the package of frozen veggies I get at the market. The tofu was breaded and dry. Why?I also ordered a small wonton soup made with the same veggies. It was actually the highlight of the meal. I had to mix the so called curry into my soup to give it flavor and soften it up.I paid the extra $2 for my boys kids meals. The chow mein was just spaghetti dripping in some brown stuff. The orange chicken was tough and had bird nerves in it. Poor kids!Ill probably be blindly tempted to try this place again in a decade or so. But until I forget again, Im staying away.

Toppers Pizza

The pizzas here are just the best. You may pay a little bit more per topping, but you get a lot of quality ingredients, they do not shortchange you. In my photos I have spicy pepperoni, pineapple, black olives, and meatball chunks. The drink is a diet Barqs Root Beer with Strawberry from a Coca-Cola freestyle machine, of which they have three. Its really nice to be able to blend flavors and step outside the normal soda norms. They have a pretty open policy about pets, during my visit I saw one Pitbull and another small dog just chilling by their owners. Every once in awhile a random employee would walk by and pet the animals and chat with the owners.A nice interior touch was the Bobs Big Boy statue by one of the doors, a friendly face I grew up with and always a pleasure to see.The restaurant is always clean, they have people running about and cleaning to ensure that there are no messy tables. The staff is excellent, made up of many of the local young people, they all appear happy, friendly, and have a decent work ethic. That is something that is harder to find than you would expect. They also have an exceptional salad bar, although the bowls they give you are very inadequate. But thats just my preference, I would prefer a larger bowl instead of having to pile everything up. Their salad bar is made with quality ingredients and is very tasty, but it is one use only. You cannot revisit. The restaurant is very well designed, there are small booths to hold two people there are larger boost to hold for, even larger booths to hold up to eight, and some round booths that could easily accommodate the same. At the back of the restaurant, there are raised tables with many chairs suitable for solo, or group customers. In my photos you can see I am sitting at one of the larger long raised tables, not a booth. They also have many TVs in the dining room so you can watch the latest sporting events.Parking can be a little tight, especially when it is the busy time of day. There is a bit of an overflow in the parking lot next to the restaurant, it actually appears that many of the staff park there instead of taking up spots in the customer parking lot. They do have a nice lunch special for under $10, but I always get a large pizza and take it home so I will get 3 to 4 meals out of it.I highly recommend Toppers and while it is a little bit of a premium over some of the normal Pizza fare, it is well worth the money and you will not be disappointed.

Beware $195 unauthorized charges! No phone contact info listed on the website. My wife attended this location and spent about $93 on herself and her friend, but also recieved an unauthorized $195 charge ($300 total). There is an email address for event planning, but no recourse for quick contact with a live person. I left a message with their sister bar, The Third Rail, which just so happened to list a phone number, well see if there is any attempt to contact me...... Tristen Philppart deFoy followed up with us the same evening after I posted this, but he treated my wife very rudely, with condescension, acted as if he were the one doing us a favor, made excuses, and passed the blame onto their point of sale software provider, Breadcrumb, and never once apologized on behalf of the business he was respresenting. Oddly, I felt as though I were back in my customer service rep days again, as I was the one who had to calm him down, not the role I was expecting to play.Ultimately, the unauthorized charges were reversed. I was hoping to raise the rating once I was reimbursed, but Tristens failure to appropriately handle a situation where the customer was 100% NOT at fault keeps me from doing so.ADVICE: If this happens to you, just go through your credit card company to reverse the charges, dont deal with Tristen.

This review is for poor customer service and management. My partner and I sat down for lunch on a Saturday. After waiting 40 minutes, we were eventually told that their machine did not print our order. No big, these things happen, and it just sucked that I happened to have an 8-hour training immediately after. We were given the options of either canceling our order (no food at all) or waiting 10-minutes and taking the order for takeout (scarfing down the food in the car.)Having food is better than no food, so we waited. After 15 minutes, the food still was not ready. The bill came and we thought it was very fair to ask for a discount. The manager refused, blaming the machine and saying he cant just give discounts to anyone that asks.We left with no food and no apology. I went to a 12pm - 8pm training with no food and my partner had to spend additional time getting lunch elsewhere. This is a question for management: why should the customer have to pay for your mistake -- with our own time and energy? To the manager -- you are treating your business like a simple transaction for food. We dont just pay you for food, we pay you for timeliness and for the entire experience.Heres two examples of good customer service from two very similar experiences.1) We went to a SPiN, a ping pong bar, and made advanced reservations. They were running 30-minutes late, so they took responsibility and covered our table for free. 2) We went to a sushi restaurant and ordered sake. The waitress forgot about the sake until we were almost done for our meal so she gave us the sake for free. These two locations recognized the importance of timeliness and its impact on our experience, and the consequences of chain reactions on the customer when they dont deliver their product on time.In the end of the day, its not about money. We are not asking you for a discount because we want to save $10 dollars. Its because we want acknowledgment, an apology, a form of you taking responsibility for your mistake and the consequences it has.

Terrible service. I went in one night with my two friends. One of my friends is part Mexican and speaks the language. Were all vegetarian and so we ask for veggie burritos. I asked for my guacamole on the side. The staff proceeded to role their eyes and make comments in Spanish while getting the guacamole after I reminded them. The woman handed it to the man at the register and he threw it in the bag where it busted open. He got annoyed and asked for another all the while talking with the woman. They smiled at me, but my friend who spoke Spanish looked amazed at what they were saying. He got the new guacamole and shoved it in the bag. I hadnt realized the first one got all over everything and so I took the bag and thanked him after paying. It wasnt until I was in my car with my friends that the bag broke from the bottom, the guacamole seeping through, and staining my car seat. And my friend told me once we left that the staff were laughing at our food choices. They also said that since I was the one who asked for the guacamole on the side that I should be the one to pay for both the one that the man dropped and the new one they gave me. Food was good but service was terrible. I dont normally leave reviews of any sort but this wasnt the first time Ive had issues there and I felt it was necessary to share.
Valley Marketplace Valencia
23975 Newhall Ranch Rd, Valencia, CA 91355, United States
Today I got the bad experience at valley marketplace. I checked my grocery bill as usual when I was coming out from the store . And I saw they charged one bell pepper of $5. So I thought it was by mistake of the cashier. I went back in 1 minute said I you charged it wrong. I asked what is the price this bell pepper she said $2. I said you charged me $5. She was not accepting and blaming us that you guys did something wrong. Then she called her manager and then she said guys went to car then came back and said bell pepper price is high we need to return. then cashier said I need to check whole grocery one by one. I said okay. I was shocked when I saw every grocery item weighing is less than the weigh she charged us. So I was surprised because we never checked the weight of any item. It was an coincident of the bell pepper price. How can they say that in one minute I took out some of the grocery. Think about that then why I came back only for the bell pepper not for other veggies. Badly disappointed. I returned my whole grocery immediately. For their better service they should check their weighing scale and they need to train their cashier how to weigh the items and talk to the customers.
RAW Sugar Factory

I came here for my birthday with one of my friends. I was so excited to try it after looking at pictures on yelp and reading great reviews. However, we arrived 30 minutes prior to closing time for lunch. The waitress/ host was arguing with me about which table I could sit at when the entire restaurant was empty other than 1 table! Why does it matter if there are so many seats available that we could all have our own section? So she had an attitude and reminded us that they close in 30 minutes. I said ok, got the menus, she wasn't friendly at all. Took our order and didn't check on us until it was just about time for the bill. The only reason they are getting 4 stars is because the food was delicious, came out fast, it was something I've never had before and it was my bday so I was in a forgiving mood. We were so hungry we finished our food in 15 minutes and the other table was still there as well. So they might have stayed an extra 8 minutes past “ closing” and the other table left after us...Doubt I'll be back though

We have been customers for more than 8 years. One of us have some special needs and they would accomodate. Last year we were dining in. We had some leftover. They have always packed the leftover for us. We asked Josh the server to pack it for us right after he packed it for another customer. He just gave the boxes to pack. I asked him why the difference, is it because of the way we look ? He started arguing. Another server took our food and packed for us. We thought of not going there again even after giving them so much business over the years. Still we decided to give them another chance. Over the pendamic we have always ordered every week from there and picked up. Today we ordered over the phone and we went to pick it up. They knew our order but there was a woman who would not give the sauces which they always used to provide. We were not asking for extra, we just wanted red chilli powder instead of red hot sauce. The woman became rude and started arguing. Nick, the guy who always took our order said sorry he cannot do anything. We are done with the Staff at the restaurant. This attitude of theirs is way beyond unproffessional ! They are not Loyal to their customer even if customer have been loyal to them. Sad.Then and Now.We went back after a long time as their food is excellent to give them another chance and we were content the way they have been taking care of the service. As earlier, we repeatedly go there almost every week. The food is excellent. The service is good. Their lunch special weekdays are the best value for the money. This is the only place where they use more than 7 different kind of vegetables in their Veggie Cashewnut curry.

**UPDATE: MY BELOW REVIEW WAS FROM OVER A YEAR AGO WHEN I STAYED AT THE HOTEL. MY UPDATE IS REGARDING A RECENT INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED THAT INVOLVED ME. ** RECENTLY WHEN A FRIEND OF MINE WAS STAYING IN THIS HOTEL FOR OVER A WEEK DUE TO A DEATH IN HIS FAMILY, I CAME BY THE HOTEL TO CHECK ON HIM. THE ASIAN HOTEL MANAGER PULLED MY FRIEND ASIDE THE MORNING I WAS THERE TO SEE HIM AND TOLD HIM THAT SHE HAS BEEN GUNNING FOR ME FOR A LONG TIME AND THAT I NEED TO LEAVE THE HOTEL AS IM NOT WELCOME, AND IF I DIDNT LEAVE THEY WERE GOING TO KICK HIM OUT. MIND YOU UPON HIS CHECK-IN THE OTHER HOTEL STAFF WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING AND UNDERSTANDING AS TO WHY MY FRIEND WAS STAYING AT THE HOTEL AND WHY HE WAS IN TOWN. THE MANAGER THEN BEGAN TO SLANDER ME AND TELL MY FRIEND THAT I WEAR WIGS AND HOODIES WHEN I COME INTO THE HOTEL SO SHE DOESNT RECOGNIZE ME AND THATS HOW I SNEAK PAST THE FRONT DESK! CLEARLY THE HOTEL MANAGER IS CONFUSING ME WITH SOMEONE ELSE. I DO NOT FREQUENT THIS HOTEL NOR HAVE I BEEN AT THIS HOTEL ANYTIME EXCEPT THE TIME I STAYED OVER A YEAR AGO AND WHAT MY BELOW REVIEW WAS ABOUT. MY FRIEND WAS EXTREMELY BOTHERED BY WHAT WAS SAID AND IMMEDIATELY CHECKED OUT AND TOOK HIS BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. NOT ONLY IS IT VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, BUT VERY WORRISOME THAT A HOTEL MANAGER IS HOLDING SOME TYPE OF GRUDGE WITH SOMEONE THAT SHE IS CONFUSING ME WITH AND THATS VERY SCARY. ***** Love the fact that you can help yourself to a cup of coffee, hot tea or hot chocolate at any time of the day down in the lobby. The breakfast in the morning has different choices of things to eat. I didnt appreciate being hounded in the morning by the kitchen staff demanding I tell them what my room number was, treating me as if I didnt belong or wasnt welcome, to the point the employee trapped me in the breakfast area by closing the doors until I told her what room I was staying in, and then she opened the doors back up allowing me to exit to the seating area in the lobby. I have never felt so offended, not to mention extremely bothered by how I was treated. I will never stay at this hotel again.

I have enjoyed going here almost weekly for many years; the food and service have always been excellent.Unfortunately, an experience I had last night was appalling. My friend and I were eating on the patio. We were served by a gentleman named Chase, who was very pleasant. Unfortunately, Chase had his mask pulled down the entire time he was assisting us. He also spent a lot of time talking to the tables behind us, where his friends were seated. No problem, except that at one point I smelled cigarette smoke and turned around in my chair, to see the people at the table behind us were smoking. My friend and I are both prone to lung issues and are sensitive to cigarette smoke, and of course are concerned with our respiratory health during this COVID-19 pandemic. Chase came over to us ask asked if we were ok with them smoking, We said, politely, that no we werent. Chase went to speak to these people, and one lady seemed to understand and stepped away to have her cigarette. Another gentleman did not, and Chase didnt say anything further to him. My friend and I finished our drinks quickly so we could leave, and I went to the restroom. When I returned, my friend approached the manager on duty, and in a friendly and polite manner said Hey, I have some concerns Id like to bring to your attention. The manager turned to walk away at this point. Honestly, this was pretty shocking to us. My friend said You really dont want to hear what I have to say? and the gentleman turned around. Once hed heard our concerns, he basically dismissed them and told us to leave. My friend asked for his name and he refused to give it, and repeated that we werent welcome there anymore. I have this on video. We are not people that behave unreasonably or conduct ourselves in a rude way; my friend was entirely polite with this manager until he was rude and dismissive of his concerns. The behavior of these staff is highly concerning to me, because I manage an assisted living facility. I put my 90+ elderly residents at risk if I contract COVID-19, and was very sad to see our server not following mask policies as outlined by the department of public health. I and my own staff are subject to very strict policies, so I know how difficult they can be. However, they are necessary, for the health of the vulnerable populations in our community.I dont want this restaurant to do anything for us, or even to respond to this review, only that they review current safety guidelines and make sure their staff are following them. It is so, so important right now.
