10:36AM: We leave to head to Ipoh. I think were being ridiculous.10:46AM: We arrive at Ipoh. They are still closed. We are the first ones here. I am sweating and feel silly.10:47AM: We make idle chatter with the man and wife who have been trying so hard to try this place as well, also discouraged by the wait in previous attempts.10:53AM: There are 6 parties waiting outside. I retract my feeling of ridiculousness.10:56AM: The staff begins to shuffle outside with dining tables, chairs, etc. I can hear the restaurants phone ringing nonstop. The line wraps around the corner where the cafe is, and I no longer question our arrival time. All that to say... Get here early. Im not sure if it was because of Labor Day weekend, but the first time I came here there was an hour long wait and my impatient butt did not want to.We were seated promptly a little after opening, and I feel like it was a full house within 5 minutes. I love a good Malaysian/Singaporean restaurant. I think this place has a strong Cantonese influence though, if the staff speaking the language was any indication. We tried a lot, including:- Hainan Chicken Rice: We had to. It tasted great and the sauces hit the spot! The chicken was boneless for lazy people like me. 4/5- Bak Kut Teh: the kind they serve here isnt the powerfully spicy kind, but it was still great. There was a lot of chewy tofu though and not a lot of pork ribs. 3/5- Roti Canai: I didnt try this one.- Kaya Toast with Butter: The party I was with was too health conscious to have most of the butter, but WOW is it good with butter. 5/5- Char Kway Teow: Tasty! The noodles werent clumpy and there was lots of added ingredients. 5/5- Laksa: Spicy and hits the spot! There was generous amounts of topping. 5/5- Yuanyang coffee: They didnt understand what I was saying when I asked if they had kopi teh. ??? I was really excited for this drink after waiting outside in the heat, but the coffee flavor wasnt strong at all and generally the flavor was really weak. 1/5The dishes come out quickly and the staff is super efficient. Theres a small above-ground parking lot, along with 2-3 levels of underground parking.I wish you luck in finding a spot and even more luck in getting a short wait. You can join via the Yelp waitlist whenever its available!
Henrys Cuisine
301 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Higher end Chinese restaurant in an area filled with cheaper eats. The quality of the ingredients, however, justified completely what they charged. A pan south Asian, Chinese cuisine features Vietnamese, Singaporean, Chinese style food. We samples three districting entrees: Singaporean curry chicken, pea shoots with garlic, Vietnamese style crispy fish. All three were great. Give this place a try. Youll like it. Bring ear plugs. It can get very loud inside.
Baccali Cafe & Rotisserie

If I could do half stars this place would be a solid 3.5. The food is ok, nothing I ever eat here makes me say “Wow! That's the best _____ I ever had!” So starting there, this place gives you an AWESOME bang for your buck. I posted photos from 2 separate trips - one set from dinner and another set from the breakfast menu.Dinner: We ordered 2 fried rice plates that no one could finish. Fried filet of sole that came with a big slab of fish and a side of mushroom gravy, filet mignon and chicken combo plate, filet mignon and shrimp pasta, lamb chops and beef plate and finally a spam and egg over instant noodle for the comfort food diner! The plates are definitely loaded with food. A few of us could have just shared each plate without packing all the leftovers afterwards. The meat is nicely cooked but it doesn't taste like much other flavoring except salt and pepper. So as I mentioned, nothing special. Their rotisserie chicken is also nicely roasted and wasn't dried out but you really do need side gravy to help the plates by adding a little flavor to everything.Breakfast - Breakfast is served until 11am so if you want to try their breakfast menu, be seated by 10:45am to avoid “missing” the golden time to order! That said, this place is packed for breakfast but don't fear, they move people in and out quickly to turn over tables. Six of us arrived at 10:30am and were seated within 10 mins so be patient and don't worry, they will seat you. The breakfast menu has a number of options available. We ordered grilled pork chops (comes with toast, eggs and coffee), porridge (comes with your option of a noodle), steak and eggs, instant noodle with spam and eggs as well as a fried chicken sandwich. My friends like this place because it's such a good deal for breakfast but food is ok.Service - overall service is quick and efficient. The waiters are multi-dialect in Chinese and speak English as well. They will keep your never ending lemon ice tea filled as well as your milk tea. Once you clear a plate they'll grab it to keep things moving. They also offer outdoor, tented seating but when it's hot and sunny outside that can be a bit rough so we normally opt for indoor seating.
Cafe Spot

The food itself deserves a 3-star rating. My overall rating was knocked down to a 2 due to a rude employee. When my friends and I were dining at this restaurant, its closing time was midnight. Starting at 11:34pm, an employee started standing approximately 6 feet from our table, simply staring at us impatiently. She literally did not do anything other than look at us and our food while standing completely still. Whenever we glanced at her, she would let out sighs, trying to hurry us up.We had just entered the restaurant at approximately 11:15pm, and we had only received our food minutes before she started staring.Worse, at 11:44pm, she started clicking a pen repeatedly - I am not exaggerating when I say that she clicked her pen at least 40 times per minute, and that went on for the 6 minutes that we rushed to finish our food.It seemed like there were other tables to be cleaned, and possibly other duties to do, but she decided to devote over 15 minutes just to rush us while doing nothing else for the restaurant itself.
Gold Hibachi Buffet

物美價廉,用在星期一到五的中午是完全正確的。老的,年輕的,小的都可以找到些喜歡吃的. 值得考慮再試一次。Price on weekday Lunch special is quite shocking at $10.99 per person. All you can eat international style buffet which comes with from sushi to fresh stir-fry, from pizza to Korean BBQ,from din-sun to cotton candy? I saw the machine there.Seating was fast during weekdays lunch hour, but it doesnt mean they are not busy.Food looked amazing, except first impression the display was too close to the entrance. Make you wonder if you dare to try it over the weekend. They have the reputation for lots of customers.Great for family, since the verity are for different ages. Doesnt matter Chinese or American, old or young, with teeth or without, you will able find something all right.Waiters come and help to clean up your empty dishes really quick. Unless you are really messy, most of the time you can enjoy a nice long meal with friends. They will not rush you around and chase you out. If you stay too long. Are they fresh? Yes, it will make wonder. Did you get what are you pay for ? Well, eat smart! I did try some sushi one style a time, but avoid some raw food later on.Seasoned seaweed was great, so are the cooked Chinese food, or hide in the back fresh stir-fry were pretty good. Not a big fan with deep fry but dessert were worth a try. Lots of fruit to choose from strawberry, pineapple, kiwi, cantaloupe, and other Chinese sweet.Drink? To be honest, I wasnt sure if it was included. I should have asked first. Next time, I will be back ! Thanks, it was a good experience.

Well be back to try more from their menu.Service was excellent/friendly and plenty of seating in or outside large patio area.Dining in is an option however patio was more pleasant.Practice social distancing here, sanitize and very clean.Ill give them 5 stars for their excellence.
