El Zarape Michoacano
6212 E Gage Ave, Bell Gardens, CA 90201, United States
This restaurant is the quintessential neighborhood dining place. The food was fantastic, plentiful, the staff ; two beautiful ladies were so nice, so helpful, so pleasant. The gentleman just stayed busy preparing everything and he still had time to assist the two ladies, and customers, in assuring that everyone had their orders met. This was a terrific dining experience. Seating, well, not so good. 3 booths, 2 tables and a counter for 3. Inside then 3 tables for four and a counter for 3 outside. Parking is 80% on the street and maybe 10 spaces off street. This is a great Mexican restaurant. Everyone speaks primarily spanish so know what you want prior to stopping unless your fluent in Spanish.Highly recommended.??

My girlfriend found this nice spot with indoor and small patio sitting, the Pho is sooo delicious, in one week today is the 2nd time we have dinner from this amazing spot, the lady is very nice, always smiling, questions asked, questions answered with a smile on her face both times, I highly recommend anyone to try their Pho, springs rolls are delicious as well, they have waffle burger, waffle dessert, teriyaki bowls, quite a variety of dishes, and to beat the heat they also have a nice selection of boba, (the brown sugar one is so good)frappes and some other can sodas, is a must try place,, cant wait to come back again pretty soon, lets all together help small business to keep them afloat again I highly recommend their Pho
MUI SUSHI
6370 Florence Ave, Bell Gardens, CA 90201, United States
This place has promise. I wanted to try one of the chef specials which include:- Salmon Capaccio (Salmon sashimi and bean sprout with ponzu sauce),- Yellowtail Jalapeno (Yellowtail sashimi and jalapeno with ponzu sauce)- Albacore Crispy Onion (Albacore and crispy onion with soy mustard sauce)- Salmon Citrus (Crab and lemon wrapped with salmon)Neither of these sounded too exciting though I may come back to try the Salmon Citrus on my next visit. For this initial visit, I opted for the LA favorite Philadelphia roll as well as Salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, and Yellowtail sashimi.Im a fan of Salmon so as long as its fresh enough Ill enjoy a good serving of salmon sashimi. The Tuna sashimi had a nice cut and the color and texture confirmed that it wasnt the highest grade. The Yellowtail sashimi left much to be desired. It may not be visible in the photos I shared for this restaurant but the consistency was slightly slimy but there was no bad odor and it didnt taste old. It just seemed to be a lower-quality cut. This is in comparison with similar Yellowtail orders from local sushi spots in the surrounding area. For being a small and almost hidden spot, this has the potential for being your local hidden gem. The menu is surprisingly large with many fresh rolls that have a Mariscos fusion feel to them such as the Bell Gardens Roll (Crab, Cucumber, Shrimp tempura with Spicy tuna, Cilantro, and Red Onion). I dont tend to see many fresh rolls with cilantro and red Onion. (Legend Roll, and Monster Roll are two more examples). One fresh roll that also caught my attention is the Numero Uno roll which may give some fierce competition to some of the close-by sushi spots that have similar rolls (Im thinking MPR).In closing, I cant give this spot 5 stars yet. Not because they do not deserve it, but because I havent sampled enough of the wide range of dishes to see how it fairs among the more established sushi restaurants in the area.If youre in the mood for sushi Mui Sushi will hit the spot without hitting the pocketbook too hard.EDIT (05/24/2022):Went in again today to try out the Numero Uno Roll which has Spicy Tuna, Cucumber, and Cilantro inside the roll, and Albacore, Avocado, and Jalapeno on the outside. It was not too spicy but extremely delicious. Highly recommended, especially if you are a fan of Spicy tuna.I also tried the Chef Special: Salmon Citrus which has crab and lemon wrapped with salmon. The crab reminded me a bit of the mix youll typically find in a California roll but it was a bit more smooth. Being a salmon fan, this was a huge thumbs up for me. Cant wait to try the other 3 chef specials. As a side note, although Ive only tried a small fraction of the dishes available here, I did update my review from 4 stars to 5 stars. The sushi chef hadnt realized I placed my order, and although it was only a couple of minutes over the initial time I was given to receive my order, the chef came out, apologized, added a couple of extra pieces to my order, and gave me a complimentary drink. This was absolutely NOT necessary. The extra star is for the importance given to the customer. Going out of your way to make sure they have the best experience is something we dont see too often anymore. In coming back to update my review I noticed the new reviews and decided to read through them. This fantastic customer service was not unique to me, meaning that this sushi restaurant does its best to ensure every customer experience goes above and beyond.Great job Mui Sushi!
Rocios Mexican Kitchen
7891 Garfield Ave, Bell Gardens, CA 90201, United States
We notice it was highly recommended by a renown gourmet website. We were totally blown away. The chips brought to the table were topped with a light drizzling of molé and some pipian. The chips and its toppings were really telling us we were in for an unforgettable eating experience. We started with Queso fundido with chorizo. It came with hand made corn tortillas. The chorizo comes cut in bit-size chucks, not the crumbly pan dripping you get at most places. We enjoyed it very much. The cheese and the chorizo were flavorful. For our main course, we ate tacos de chapulines (grasshoppers), taco feos (ugly) and an empanada plater. My teenagers loved the grasshopper taco. I ate two of them. Absolutely delicious. The tacos feos are a chicken taco with some molé manchamanteles over them. It also has a pineapple slice and small slices of fried plantain in the taco. It was a flavor explosion. The empanadas were crispy and flavorful. I ordered some extra molé manchamanteles to dip them in and that took them over the top. We highly recommend you try the platanos in tequila. It beautifully presented on a plate with strawberry garnish. The bananas were slighly carmelize and topped with a flavorful cream topping. You could take the hint of tequila in the topping. We loved it. We even took some molé home. This is Mexican food its truest form. You could tell it was cooked the love and respect for the customer. We will be back soon
El Coraloense
6600 Florence Ave, Bell Gardens, CA 90201, United States
The food was quite delicious and a real deal for what youre getting. I tried the mini ceviche tostada sampler your choice of three for only $8.50. What a deal! (My first visit I read mini and figured okay well this is not going to be enough, but it is!) the smoked Marlin tacos plate comes with three tacos for $7.50 and their plate of Camarones al mojo de ajo (thats garlic shrimp) is EXCELLENT! The shrimp come head on and its served with rice very homestyle made and a salad for $11.50. I love this dish the best part is sucking all that yummy juice off of the shrimp before you eat it and then taking a scoop of that saucy and slightly spicy rice. Yum!This is one of my new favorite spots, so the reason I give it four stars instead of five is because I visited this place twice before writing my review to get a good feel and I feel they are a bit unexperienced with running a restaurant. Although the food is great! the service is a bit slow the food comes out of the kitchen slowly as they make it not all at once and I ordered an horchata de coco both visits, My first visit it was poured into a cup and I was fine with it the second visit I ordered it again and it came like a smoothie, So Im not linking the inconsistency, Also my first visit I ordered fries and they never came I was still charged for them which I brought to their attention the second visit They ended up refunding my money but the way it was handled felt unprofessional she said well not much I can do about it Ill ask someone to see if they remember and then she kind of ignored me for a while and then finally came to me and said well they dont remember :-/ . But she gave me the money back. But that was a mistake they made and the proper way to handle that is apologizing for the mistake and then offering a fix. Food is great and Im hoping the way they run the business will soon catch up they need to be a bit more consistent.

The best urban Thai food that I've ever had!!I ordered:1. Seafood Tom Yum2. Sriracha wings3. Chow mein4. Thai quesadilla - Chef's creation!5. Thai fried rice6. Thai milk tea7. Mango sticky rice with coconut milkThe food is definitely bomb, so good! It is flavorful on all the dishes, the Thai tastes are really on point. The service is also super nice and fast. I asked them for recommendations and satisfied with all of them. The sauce tray has 4 sauces that go really well with the dishes. They also manage the sauce tray really clean, this got me!There were 2 tables for dining in due to COVID but it gave a decent flow to the restaurant. I went for lunch that I see the place was busy during lunch time which showing me that this place is good! I also love the huge size Thai milk teas and yummy mango sticky rice desserts!! I also heard from the store manager that they change store decoration once a month for the occasions. This place is so fun!! I would definitely come back!
Evas Cookery
7211 Garfield Ave, Bell Gardens, CA 90201, United States
This is a nice place and the service is friendly, BUT....why would management have only ONE waitress working a Friday Evening? I went there on Jan., and noticed only one waitress was working a couple of tables. Once we sat down, she was nice and presented menus, but by the time we ordered I noticed more people coming in sitting down. In less than 30 minutes she had almost 10 tables to take care of with more people coming in. What this translated too was her running around like crazy and I cold see the frustration in people waiting for coffee refills, place orders, or ask for other things..She was also acting as cashier, I mean this girl was the only one serving this packed restaurant. I got up with my two cups of coffee and went to the counter and asked her if I can have a refill thinking i saved her time by going to the counter myself, instead she snapped at me saying ill take it to the table myself When? tomorrow? geeezzz. Eventually what looked like a kitchen helper came out to help her clear tables and deliver coffee.. Icing on the cake was the fact that I noticed my shoes kept making this splashing sound, and I took my cell phone to use the see what that was, turned out I been standing on a puddle of water under the table that have sipped through the wall from the previous rains, Oh well.....there will be better days for Evas Cookery. I do give props for the one lonely waitress to be brave enough to try and tackle a packed restaurant on a Friday night. And Management, shame on you for poor staffing planing.
