Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
2020 Business Ln, Chico, CA 95928, United States
I took some family out for dinner at Olive Garden in Chico California. There were 6 adults and 2 children. We were seated in app. 20 minutes to a table with no napkins or silverware. Soon drinks and breadsticks arrived and we ordered and asked for napkins and silverware. The breadsticks were covered in melted butter and while taking good they covered our fingers with melted butter. Once again we asked for napkins and silverware. 10 minutes later our soup and salads showed up. The three that ordered soup could eat because each bowl contained a spoon. We who ordered salad could sit and look at it or use our hands to eat. After another 2 or 3 minutes a waiter came by and informed us that they were out of forks. At this I went looking for the manager. When I found him I had to wait for 4 minutes while he talked on the phone. I explained that we had been served food but had no napkins or silverware. He apologized and said he would immediately take care of this. He said it was unacceptable about 5 minutes later a waitress showed up with the missing items. Eventually our food arrived, it had been sitting under heat lamps for quite some time and was not what we were used to at Olive Garden. Through all of this we had a good time visiting and I was glad to leave a 20% tip for the waitress as she was not responsible for the lack of napkins and silverware. I dont know what was wrong last night but I will be prudent in the near future and select other restaurants for dinning out.

Panera Bread
1910 E 20th St, Chico, CA 95928, United States
This was my second visit to Panera. I wanted to make sure the experience was consistent before reviewing and so far it has been. I enjoyed the flavors Panera offers, though some of the portions are on the small side compared to price. We ordered the family meal pack so we could try a variety of sandwiches. So far, the ciabatta cheesesteak one is my favorite as far as flavor goes. The cheddar broccoli soup was good and the portion was enough for the 4 of us (two adults and two kids). The Cesar salad was decent, but more like a two-person (adult) portion than 4. The dressing appears to be made in-house, not bottled which is a notable plus. The chocolate chip cookies were actually quite big and tasted fresh.I think its worth mentioning that I did have a couple special instructions noted on both visits and the staff followed through both times (e.g. no peppers and other such preferences). So many places ignore comments on to-go orders so I appreciated the attention to detail.Overall, I would go back and Id recommend giving it a try if you havent.

Top other services in Chico:

Pho Bonsa
221 Normal Ave B, Chico, CA 95928, United States
Among the best Vietnamese restaurants in the vast region including Sac metro. I think Pho Bonsa is comparable to our long time favorite Pho City in Sac, but Bonsa is even better in terms of soup. Surprisingly all our super picky little kids finished all the food including soup. It was a great discovery for us and great addition to once disappointing county for pho lovers. The only disappointment was lack of choices on menu. My most favorite Vietnamese food is vermicelli but Bonsa doesn’t have any.

Snow Man Ramen
951 Nord Ave #3, Chico, CA 95926, United States
Service is fast and friendly! Seems like a mom and pop shop, and they are working hard providing a great product. My daughter and I ordered tonkatsu ramen and cream cheese wontons. The wontons arent put together until they are ordered and you can taste how fresh and clean they are. The ramen was rich and there was a really decent amount of pork belly served with it. We took it to go and they keep the broth and ramen stuff in separate containers as to not make the ramen noodles too soft. Portions are super big and my daughter couldnt finish hers because there was so much. I wasnt able to eat mine for a few hours after we got home, but it held up quite well and was still very delicious. Will definitely be back. I want to try their fried rice next.

Asian Market
347 Nord Ave #3, Chico, CA 95926, United States
Neat odds and ends, plenty of ingredients, and a nice selection of foreign snacks. Gotta love their melon soda. They also have a small section where some older lady comes by and drops off homemade dishes throughout the day. You never know what youll find. Could be minced meat dumplings, could be unnamed banana leaf-wrapped yum food. Come try something new, like their high protein canned tofu chicken that looked so weird i just had to try it on a dish.

Country Morning Bakery And Cafe
2625 Aztec Dr, Chico, CA 95928, United States
Certainly a step above any donut shop. Busy busy up to the last minute, parking full nearby, impressive indeed. Ordered 4 small cinnamon rolls, after trusting the many praises as to how fantastic they were. These smaller version had a center of lemon glaze? Small amount to even tell, but sure, why not. Next I attempted to go for half a dozen cookie, but nearing closing time they only had 5 available, so they suggested some mini pastry (2) to qualified for the half dozen price of $10.99? I rapidly accepted. 3 of the sizable cookies were peanut butter? With m&m's for color. Totally a let down. Grab some peanut butter, smother it with plenty of sugar, and you got a cookie whose main attribute is the sweetness. The other two, same size, one white and the other ginger like? The two many pastries nothing to rave about it, but obviously this place seems to be more than the blanks in what I selected. Plenty of female bakers, plus one older male doing this and that. Customer base healthy as a permanent small line never wavered. From customs wore I ventured to think Amish, Dutch? $21 total, but later these selected items prove to be below par. After all sugar shouldn't be the main attribute on any cookie, and the cinnamon roll ($2.75 each) had zero appeal, the ones I use to buy at malls, nice and warm, better bargain. For what we tried 2.5 Stars, for the possible better items with benefit of the doubt, 3.5 Stars.

Wine Time
26 Lost Dutchman Dr, Chico, CA 95973, United States
Relaxed atmosphere. Great service. Tasty gastronomic offerings. Sufficiently satisfying wine list. We tried a Paso Robles Cab Secret Cellars @$23. Light fragrantly fruity nose couples with inky jamaliciousness that expands into nice chewy tannins. Worth the coin. As the name is Wine Time the focus in on wine....however they do have a small beer selection with four on tap, but I believe (even if takes a bit of negotiation) one could order from the twenty-something beer smorgasbord at the sister tap room The Lost Dutchman which is across the adjoining easily-walkable-with-a-pint-of-beer parking lot. Of course, with an adequate gratuity, Im sure your table host could arrange for it to be brought to you eliminating the need to be distracted from the conversation going on at your table. Saturday night they usually have live music which makes Wine Time a great destination for any various celebratory or social occasion.

Siphos Jamaica
1228 Dayton Rd, Chico, CA 95928, United States
Horrible experience! Ordered over the phone and after waiting for close to an hour, I opened the 2 orders and they were wrong...the cook came out and told me they didnt have what I ordered and instead of informing me while I sat there, he waited til I opened it and then told me he was closed so he couldnt fix it...then the cashier gave me the wrong change (shorted) me and when I brought it to her attention she had an attitude. So I asked the cook to at least remove the stuff off my plate that I didnt order due to allergies and he scraped it off and replaced it with what I actually ordered after first telling me he didnt have it! If this was in LA, where I drove from, it wouldve been closed the day it opened. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy!

The Winchester Goose
824 Oroville Ave, Chico, CA 95928, United States
Pros: Cozy atmosphere, excellent food, friendly service, great craft beer selection.Cons: only street parking.I recently visited the Winchester Goose and was thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, with beautiful brick-lined walls and a stunning claro walnut bar. I had the crispy chili chicken sandwich and a house fresh salad, and both were excellent. The sandwich was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of spice, and the salad was fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive, making the entire experience top-notch.I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy great food and a fantastic selection of craft beers in a welcoming environment.
