Panera Bread
78902 CA-111, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
Well, I had just eaten breakfast at home, but I had some time to pass so I thought I would set out to graze a bit. And I came to this Panama Bread place and began.First of all, the place was a bit cold, but Anabelle, who took my order, warmed the whole place up. What a smile - kind of reminded me of the girls back home in St. Lou. In fact the whole place looked like a place in Lou called there the Bread CO. Now its from Panama. Go figure!I love cinnamon, so I first ordered one of those cinnamon crunch bagels with some cream cheese slathered all over it. I even had them put some of it on the bottom of the bagels so I could lick the plate when I had finished . You know, all those little cinnamon grit-fire thingys fall all off and plop! right into that glued on cheese. So it makes the plate lickin a bit more productive.Next I moved right into a cinnamon crunch scone. What is a scone anyway? Seems like a stomped-on cupcake kinda like those flattened out frogs you see on the side of Highway 40 in the Lou. But, doggone it, it was good. Darned good AND the cinnamon crunchy things didnt fall off into the nest of cream cheese I had made for it! So, I had to lick off the cream cheese without the crunchy cinnamon do-dads.I remember what Mom - RIP - said about balancing our meals and needed some protein so I next ordered a spinach and artichoke souffle. Lordy was it good! Yummy ukeleles!! I loved it. And fast? I swear on a stack of New Testaments that Anabelle got this out to me faster than my bulldog Nuggy takes his call to nature in the neighbors yard. And speaking of nature, it was my turn. Now Im happy to tell you the restroom (or in aviation jargon the lavatory) was spotlessly clean. Furthermore, I took out my trusty tape measure to measure the height of the urinal since I have some mighty short and stubby legs on me because of my parents were - as we like to say in this politically correct world - vertically challenged. And YUP! Im delighted to say that the Panama Bread companys urinal measured EXACTLY 16 inches from the floor to the rim. The ADA standards, of course, include a 17 inch rise, so Panama did their homework! And even I could make water without leaving a puddle.I washed my hands vigorously for 40 seconds, warm water, the whole magilla out of the Ebola play-book. And then did a pimp-roll up to the counter again to start scouting some dessert items. I tend to get a bit of gas with chocolate, so I asked Anabelle (still smiling, bless her heart!), for an orange scone. Again with the flattened out pancake/cupcake. Maybe a better name should be a pan-cup or a cup-pan, but whos complaining anyway? Maybe Baskin and Robbins will come out with an ice-cream SCONE!!!This orange SCONE was the little cherry on top of the hot fudge! Sooo delicious. So perfect. Made my tummy SO happy. Like when my mom brought home that happy happy puppy for me. That puppy was the happiest ever because he was born with TWO, NOT ONE, peters! So all in all this Panama Bread thing is the real deal. Call first to see if Anabelle is there. If not Id ask when she was next working and pitch tent till then. If you give me some notice, I can meet you there and lead you through the menu. And we could re-measure the urinal height to see if we can work them for a few Benjamins by the old ADA urinal height shake-down. I have the lawyer, and all he does is make a few phone calls. The lawsuit jargon is all ready to go!Delete review

WOW ? Chef James Nellis has a winner. His attention to detail shines throughout the menu. Appetizer of octopus was unbelievably tender, topped with light coconut sauce and tiny blue chips for crunch. The Caesar salad was A+! Not only house made dressing, but pumpkin seeds for texture. Instead of croutons, a chewy grilled slice of garlic bread. Anchovies fried and crispy. Delicious! Next, the crispy skin Branzino with Romesco sauce and oven roasted cauliflower. Perfection paired with the broccolini. Dessert was a “brookie” - somewhere in between a brownie and a cookie. Service by Elvin was top notch. Table bussers and runners were efficient and unobtrusive. Many have commented on the noise - we found it moderate, not overpowering. We did note acoustical tiles have been attached to the ceiling. Outdoor seating is unremarkable, looks out on the parking lot. Easy parking, BTW. Stick inside for the ambiance. Nice bar, extensive cocktail list. IMHO, their wine by the glass needs to improve in quality to match the exceptional food. Well done, team!!!
Arnold Palmers Restaurant
78164 52nd Ave, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
EXCELLENT food! And the Arnold Palmer drink was the best Ive ever had! Well... they better be! After all... duh! ?From the start, my friend and I decided we wanted to try something different. So... the bacon wrapped dates is what we went for. Neither of us have ever had them before. They were unbelievably good! A delightful taste sensation! Then we both ordered the filet mignon. They were prepared to perfection, and were very tasty and juicy! But... if youre going to get this dish, be sure you ask for the garlic mashed potatoes and not the petite oven potatoes. My buddy only got 6 tiny potatoes the size of a nickel. I got a whole bowl of garlic mashed potatoes.Also... Be sure you ask for the chimichurri sauce to go with the steak. It was extremely tasty and a perfect combination. It paired perfectly with the steak. The small arugula salad that came with the dish would make a rabbit cry asking for more. Honestly, it was more of an afterthought than a salad.Anyway, the main course (the steak) was very good! Then we move on to the dessert...We had espressos with a little lemon twist, which Ive never had before, and it was very good. I suggest you try it.We decided to have the sorbet, which was mango and raspberry.Absolutely delicious and very refreshing. We also got some carrot cake to go and it looks amazing. I cant wait to try it.If youre in this area, I highly recommend this restaurant. The only disappointing factor was, the hostess actually recommended more things on the menu than our server did.We were very disappointed with the service.Im not sure if they had a server call out sick tonight, because our server rarely came by our table. She came by right after they dropped off the steaks, like within one minute, and asked us how they were. We had not even taken a bite yet. She could have just looked down at our table and seen that. Then she short changed me because I paid with cash. Not sure if it was a misunderstanding or done deliberately, but it left a very poor taste in my mouth. So, everything about this place was excellent, its just that the service was very lacking. We were seated in the bar. Maybe thats a place to avoid. We had to ask several times for more drink, and additional items that were needed to go along with the meal. But I do HIGHLY recommend this place. The End!RIP Arnold Palmer! You are the man! ⛳ ?️♂️
LGs Prime Steakhouse
78525 CA-111 STE 100, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
I always want to love this place but simply cant, their food and service are just too inconsistent. Last night 4 of us dined together our reservation was at 5:15pm our bill with tip was almost $840 throughout our meal the restaurant was never more than 1/3 full so the fact the soup, main meal and afterwards cappuccinos were ice cold is so unacceptable. Did I send anything back? No, I worked in the industry for a long time and in this Covid climate as few of people handling my food is the better choice so I ate it cold. The waiter was not attentive at all. In the car on the way home I told my husband once again that will be the last time we go there for a long time...somehow we do end up back there as a last choice once or twice every 2 to 3 years but it strictly because of convenience for all the parties involved and its because of that we end up there when we are not focused on a good meal...when we are focused on great food and great service LGs is never a contender. Folks there are several great choices in the desert but a #1 spot for us is Mastros in Palm Desert. Its a shame LGs just cant get it right but after giving them many many chances they still remain the same an EXPENSIVE but not very good steak house!

Hub and I like to sample what a restaurant has to offer via shared appetizers. Shrimp, Artichoke, Wings wirh home made dipping sauces were wonderful. Their home made tomato soup is amazing. One of the best fish sandwich I have had in a long time was served with homemade potato chips. Happy hour will make you happy.
Pokehana
78742 CA-111 Suite A, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
Pokehana is an interesting higher end concept of making your own Japanese bowl a la carte. You pick your rice, protein, vegies, sauces, toppings, etc...all with strong Asian flavors so they all blend together exceptionally well. (Basically you cant go wrong regardless of your selections.)The ingredients were clearly fresh and perfect for a Sushi type bowl (I had the Salmon and Ahi tuna)...the rice spot on. The addons (edamame, garlic aioli, seaweed salad) also were absolutely delicious! The service was exceptional from an experienced, very pleasant and congenial hostess who provided her recommendations on what to try that I took, as I am prone to try what is recommended to me! (most of the time)While I probably couldnt have it every day, as looks are deceiving in that it is really a *lot* of food packed into one bowl, for an occasional change of pace for something unique and favorable...I would say to totally give it a try!
Rancho La Quinta Country Club
79301 Cascadas Cir, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
I got the chance to play The Jones at Rancho La Quinta Country Club. Wow. What a treat! This course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and offers a wide range of tees for all skill levels. They have an impressive clubhouse, a large driving range, and professional staff to ensure an unforgettable experience. This is a big campus, but they have good signage to get you where you need to go. (The guy at the main gate was very professional and made sure I knew where I was going.) The golf course is spectacular, too. It was in great, even during the summer, and was a challenge from tee to green. Eager to play it again. Some hard holes on the back... Lots of water strategically placed to force you to consider tee shot placement. Tip of the cap to the entire team at Rancho La Quinta for providing me with an unforgettable round of golf. FORE!
Louises Pantry
47150 Washington St, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
Service was slow. Food had no flavor. Huevos Rancheros had idk what kind of sauce. But it was like soup. $52 for breakfast, I would expect that at a 5 star restaurant at a resort but not a brunch place.
Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant
50855 Washington St ste 2I, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
Wow, new restaurant in La Quinta. This is a really good, basic Mexican restaurant with cooking just like Moms and thats because Mom is the cook!If you are reading any reviews here make sure they are after May 2021, because this restaurant moved from Cathedral City to La Quinta in May. Older reviews are about the previous location. This is a really friendly little restaurant in the old La Quinta Village shopping center, the home of the new drive-thru Starbucks. We have been 3 times and have had a good experience each time. The portions are good, the food is hot, and the family that runs it actually seems to like what they do. There is Mom and Dad, a couple of brothers, a cousin or two and they all really understand that a hello and friendly attitude is appreciated. The have a Beer and Wine license, and sell a wine tequila that was surprisingly good. The patio was not yet open, but at 108 degrees I am not too disappointed. It is new in every detail, new booths, new paint, really clean and well kept. While I say the food is basic mexican, they take pride in what and how they serve you. The Fajitas plate is served sizzling and on fire. Really spectacular. They had a whole fish dish on special the first evening we were there that was also served sizzling and hot that looked really authentic. The Los Tres Amigos is three enchilada side by side, each better that the last. Their Diablo Shrimp is not for the faint of heart, we loved it, but thank goodness they got their beer license the night we ordered it!Last week we had the Steak Nacho and were very happy. And full. Their chips and salsa are very good (the salsa comes in a small bowl, but ask for more, youll like it).Lots of parking, if you know the center it has suffered from lack of tenants for years, and this is really nice addition. Unfortunately, the pandemic was not kind to the other restaurants in the center and several have closed.Really like Los Arcos. Recommend it to all.
LongHorn Steakhouse
79705 CA-111, La Quinta, CA 92253, United States
We took our Mom for mothers day, we usually love Longhorn and have been to multiple locations, but our experience at this La Quinta one was the worst we have ever had at a restaurant. We called ahead to get into the waitlist since we were a party of 6 and we knew it was busy, they told us 90 mins wait. We got into the restaurant exactly as we were first in the list, they still made us wait for 2 hours more. The hostesses were kinda rude and unhelpful, and they kept chitchatting and laughing with each other. When we finally got into the table, our waitress was very sweet and gave good service, we ordered drinks and appetizers. An hour passed and the waitress tells us that shes sorry our orders got mixed up in the kitchen, at this point we were really hungry, upset and tired of waiting; our Mom included. Our waitress apologized and offered a discount but after waiting a bit longer with no one showing up, we decided to go.All in all an awful experience from a chain restaurant that one would think is capable of handling big parties with previous notice on an important holiday.
