Mariscos Playa De Corales
640 W Chapman Ave, Placentia, CA 92870, United States
HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. By far the WORST service I have ever experienced...anywhere!! It took us at least 20 mins to order because our waitress pretended not see us, even though there was only four other tables in the entire restaurant. I guess the waitresses think that their attire is what will make them money and not their quality of service. After finally putting in our order our food seemed right out of the microwave. It is over priced and the food quality is can worthy at best. The whole experience was so bad I was dreading the fact that I had to even pay for it! Ended up spending $45 on the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Big city or small, Ive never experienced valet for a BAKERY. Bruh. Its a shame that the parking lot for 10 cars is larger than the bakery itself. Says something about society in such a spacious warehouse heavy place. Whether its a small town spot like Bobs Well Los Alamos, or something tight spaced in a big city like Great White Venice or Atelier September in Copenhagen, NY, anything...I agree that you will encounter a sort of wait or line, but I would have preferred a traditional system where you receive a number and wait for a table, or place your name down. The whole two line thing and coffee bar on other side and everyone having to explain to every customer which line is for is a lot of energy that could be placed elsewhere. I didnt like having to strategize and split up the party to get a pastry before they ran out but also wait separately for a table all to have to pay for everything before even trying it or sitting down. Makes the experience feel transactional and rushed when I think going out to a bakery or cafe in general should feel like a relaxing treat. I overheard many other customers I encountered debating and discussing this.Speaking of treat, I didnt think any particular pastry really stood out. Bulle was beautiful, but maybe could have been doughier and sweeter / saltier more balanced. Didnt have the strong cardamom flavor either and its really supposed to be punchy and knock you out. The sourdough ganache cookie ... more like a piece of bread, not dense or moist, kinda dry chalkier, felt like I needed a glass of milk after one bite. Ganache in middle was great. The presentation of the Benedict was beautiful and we were excited about the sausage patty. Was sad to find out that the sausage wasnt super flavorful and if it wasnt there, I dont think it would have made a difference. Wanted more salt. Biscuit was good and texture was nice. Expecting the flavor bomb that sausage usually offers. Was debating taking it home so I could eat it with Maldon and hot sauce or harissa.Service was a great especially female barista and the long-haired young man serving the pastry counter too. Also the server with curly dark hair. Everyone else was being helpful, but I felt the interactions were a little odd. My partner described it as if talking to us like we were children. Felt like way too many rules. I had a few questions for the person seating us and was told things like no but Ill triple check (didnt even single or double check, why triple?) and that if I wanted to order more food for lunch there was a eating limit of 60-90 minutes and if we want to sit outside we cannot go back on our word if we want inside instead. I just abhor a rushed atmosphere and it takes away from the joy of food and being out, especially if youre spending $22 on a Benedict & $8 bacon slice. Spent about $70 total on some pastries, coffee, an entree to share, and the sides. Spending money is fine, but for the whole hullabaloo, I wanted to walk away happier. We left our table super neat and I even said thank you to the owner / manager in a fairly audible / loud level and he didnt hear me or say anything back or look. Speaking of said manager / owner, I asked a few questions about what we ordered and he answered them very matter a fact. We talked about the stuff I wish I could try that werent available and I was hoping for more of a welcoming response about how he hopes we come back at another time to try those items soon. Nothing really. I wouldnt want to put blame on someone who is busy and thinking about so much, but that was an observation Ive seen other restaurant staff do very well even in chaotic circumstances.Overall we are forgiving of the places newness and hope some of these things can be fixed. Aesthetics arent everything and while the space is fresh and beautiful, thats doesnt last if food and service and experience lack. For a brunch place nearby that really does things right and leaves me feeling cared for, happy, satisfied, Id still recommend Toast Kitchen.

At first, I thought this place was only a make your own poke bowl place where they add sauce mixed in with the fish. However, they also had chirashi bowls which had big chunks of sashimi as well. I must say that Im a huge fan of this. At almost the same price as other poke bowl places, I could get a chirashi bowl for almost the same price - with much fresher fish. The fish was pretty buttery and it was great quality. It wasnt fishy smelling and it pretty much melted in your mouth. Delicious. The spicy mayo and yuzu wasabi were also delicious. I loved the mayo on the fish and the yuzu wasabi with my rice. I liked that they gave you options on how to have your sauce. The portion was generous and I was left feeling very full afterwards. I will most definitely come back to visit this place. So delicious!Service was friendly and the place was spotless. So clean. Also, really bright for photos. Yep, I definitely like this place!P A R K I N GBig lot shared with other places so it was easy to find parking.
Sake Sushi & Grill

Trip to the US with West Coast Lube.Serious customers, people who have Halloween pumpkins at the reception and who have put who is bringing what for the October 31st party on the list where guests sign. And theres someone bringing chocolate lasagna. But thats nothing, a man who doesnt go unnoticed shows up and speaks with a Scottish accent. Do you want a coffee? he asks and accompanies us in a small car. He speaks, he looks like Eddie Murphys crazy professor, he makes coffee for himself and takes us to his office.Do you want to know what we do? We do vertical. When covid happened we did molecular tests and we made a lot of money! Cosmic guys! And then we are inside everything, our software creates Toyotas digital twin. You drive and your car has a digital twin, and so you get tokens. And our tokens are yours! If bitcoin crashes you lose everything, if Ethereum collapses you lose everything. But our tokens remain yours to use!For what?We are also inside the Vishnu temple, we made the digital twin of Indian museums, you go there you look at a painting and you have a token. Then with these tokens you earn sanctity... and then and then and then we spoke with Taco Arecilla, who was in the federal government, when the guy with the funny hair was there, but now hes retired because he doesnt want to compromise himself. And anyway he told us Woe to you if you give your software to someone before giving it to the college here at the corner! And so we made digital twins of the college, the students click and have fun and get some tokens. With the tokens they go to the cafeteria and get a coke. And then if you see that that student is behaving abnormally, maybe hes not happy and you can intervene before he gets depressed and maybe kills someone as often happens in colleges-around-the-corner!Together with this we have a little product that does not lower the entropy of the universe but almost. Paco Canalla, who knows everyone among the feds in government, said that we have no competition. So MASS PRODUCTION! For every dollar you save you get a token, but only if you sign up for the premium subscription - otherwise well get the tokens! Not all of our customers understood this trick! At that point the coffees arrived. What does this have to do with sushi?Every nigiri you eat gets you a sushi token that you can use to take an ill-advised action in the afternoon after three. We went to Sake Sushi & Grill, I dont think so, but I dont have an internet token and I lost the address of the sushi place we went to.All delicious, if its your birthday you win double tokens for the whole day and they sing you the little song while the strobes flash. At the entrance there is also an Alpino who has played some immortality tokens. If you didnt like this review, contact the support center and we will give you your cheer tokens back.
Birrieria Guadalajara

The service was rude, dismissive, and standoffish. The register person didnt know the menu, or anything about the food, and acted as if our being there was very burdenous and annoying for them. I only asked two basic questions, made no substitutions, ordered a good amount of food, and there wasnt a line behind me, nor was it busy, so it wasnt like I was holding them up. So really it seems they were just acting out with their attitude because they hate their job or do not understand the basic premise of how to do their job in the customer service industry. Their demeanor made it very uncomfortable for me to be there and when I drive by now I get reminded of how they made me feel. So I now hold distain every time I drive past which is almost daily. The food was just ok and the corn tortilla was dry and to dense for the dish in my personal taste. Anyway, I would give the food three stars, the service negative stars, and the aesthetic 2 stars (though I really dont account for that detail as I dont expect aesthetic quality from a quick serve taco shop. So that had no effect on my rating).Which leads me to my final point the food took a long time, and the place was slow with plenty of staff on hand so idk what happened there. Regardless, not impressed in any capacity nor did I enjoy plausibly because the customer experience tainted it before it even began. Too bad really.

Went into this place by accident, our restaurant we normally go to was closed for the night. We drove passed this one and it was packed.. so we popped in and it was full of students cheap taco Tuesday, no problem students have to eat, lol I had the pozole soup and it was yummy, the service was good considering how busy they were, the best customer service was when one of the owners went around all the tables and asked how everything was, old time school works for me
Fresh Off The Boat Fish Grill

First time here tonight. The place was hoppin with customers, lots of to-go orders as well as socially distancing on the patio for dining. No inside seating which is good, nice to see compliance with local orders and guidelines. It tells me they follow health code guidelines in their kitchen too and are thinking about their customers and staffs health and well being. This is important. We all ordered something different. My son got the filet steak plate, hubby got the salmon plate, I got the mahi mahi plate, and our daughter tried the grilled shrimp plate. We tried the flowing appetizers: falafel, hummus, ceviche, and even a side of grilled tomato. Family had some baklava too. Everything was made to order and double checked by staff before it was given to us. Total wait time from ordering at the counter to our food being handed to me was 15 mins. You can order ahead on their website and we will do this next time now that we have tried their yummy food. All around great experience. Sorry, no pictures this time, brought all this goodness home to a hungry family. Cant wait to try something new next time....and maybe get some pictures taken before we devour the delicious foods!
B & C Burgers

Ok, found this place a couple years ago and have gone there off and on. The food was good, mostly breakfast, is what we ordered, but in the last couple months we noticed the food quality has dropped dramatically. It is not “Real Mexican “food but it is ok. Chile Verde is tomatillo sauce and Ortega chili… Salsa is rough chopped tomatoes' and onion; Guacamole is or tastes pre- made baby food type. It's OC Mexican for OC customers.BTW, no chips and Salsa today. They used to make the best Chorizo Plate breakfast but, it has been inconsistent the last few times and not hot. Also notice the beans and rice look and taste like microwaved food, and also not HOT, kiss of death for a Mexican restaurant. They are busy as heck and have a very small kitchen and may be cutting corners, but this is not how to do it.I get the family restaurant thing, but the kids that are working the counter don't care about taking your order or even paying attention to what you ask or tell them. I was asked 3 times what kind of tortillas I wanted and told what I ordered was not on the menu. Mom corrected him… almost.I ordered the Chorizo plate, three times the kid said ok the Chorizo Omelet, right? The Chorizo Omelet was the special. I corrected him each time. I got a Chorizo Omelet chopped up and quasi scrambled.Too bad, it was a good breakfast spot, though I never thought the burgers were great, just ok.Pretty sure we are giving it the X, third time's the charm. Too bad, got too popular, too fast.

Old town Palcentia is so Nostalgic. Im an 80s kid so it always reminds me of the good ol days if Orang County before she got all face lifted over the last 25 years driving thru the little neighborhood a few minutes and shop areas brings great memories. Anywho the resturant itself is on a corner. Traditional entry way and restaurant interior. There were about 3 or 4 tables upon our arrival. We got seated within a minute or 2 and viewed the menu. Everything on the menu looked great, and the food was absolutely delightful! I got a wet burrito, half green half red mole and wished I would have got it the red, dont get me wrong the green was great but I Love me some good red mole. Drinks were great as well. We really enjoyed our time here. We didnt feel the typical rushnesd by the wait staff to order, eat, drink, and get out. Very different than a chain resturant. We spent about an hour and a half in total eating, chit chatting and 2 rounds of drinks. I would recommend this place to bring a date, a relative or family members or a few friends for a start on the night on the town. Food portions are great. Look forward to our next visit. P.s. the chips and Guacamole portion is the biggest Ive got at any resturant and is fresh made order it as appetizer and mix woth house salsa!

Very rude. I asked her if the lemons were in the bag. She said did you ask Mom and I said yes she said been there in there. So I looked in the bag and they were not in there so I told her and she said are these the ones you asked for really rude and I told her nicely maam I said lemons and then she got super mad and said we dont have lemons we have lines I said okay can I please get some lines and then she went and got the lines and threw them into my hand hard with an attitude. It was the lady with short hair with a heavy accent. Ill never be eating here again. Ill be calling corporate Monday morning because this is very unprofessional and ridiculous. This place is supposed to be a fun place to go to and theyre treating you people like this is unnecessary. She was very disrespectful and rude. Ruined my weekend and made me feel really bad.
