Thai Power Restaurant
6057 Mission St #2007, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
This restaurant is misrepresenting themselves and overcharging customers. To All the potential people wanting to eat at this restaurant: Beware:My husband and I came to this restaurant on 3/3/16 around 8 pm. We used Google search to find a Thai Restaurant close to where my husband works, and found the restaurant Thai Power. When we arrived, we noticed they had Karaoke and it was very loud. We noticed the restaurant was filled with patrons. When we sat down, we waited a long time to get serviced, but no one really came to our table. I had to go to the bar to ask for menus. The lady behind the bar gave us 2 menus and we went back to our table. As I looked at the menu, I noticed that it was Filipino food and some of the menu was in the language of Tagalog. I got up to give the menus back to the bartender, and explained that I thought this was a Thai Restaurant, and that I wanted Thai Menus. She took the menus back and gave us 2 different menus and this time, they were in English and it was Thai food. Here is where we have problems with this whole situation. After the female bartender gave me the menus, she immediately said, I want to let you know that these menus (Thai) are old. We dont have the ability to make some of the items on this menu and the prices are incorrect. We havent received the new menus yet, but we will have to charge you at least $1 or more more for any of the items that you order providing you order something that we makeI was surprised to actually hear this from her. I went back to the table with my husband, and we made a decision not to eat in the restaurant anymore. We gave the menus back and we walked out.I feel that we should have not been treated this way.Although we dont have a problem with Filipinos or their food, it is not why we came to the restaurant, to eat Filipino food. If you give a Thai menu, the restaurant should be cooking all of the Thai Food in addition to Filipino food. Finally, we should feel welcome in the restaurant and not be told that we have to pay $1 more per item because the menus are old. Please note***Other people have written poor reviews similar to ours in Yelp Revews
Banana Island
273 Lake Merced Blvd, Daly City, CA 94015, United States
The menu is huge and the flavors are undeniably unauthentic. Its also a good value for the amount you get. That said, not all the dishes are winners and the service can be slow. You may also have to wave down a waiter to be serviced. Overall, good spot if you have a hankering for Southeast Asian flavors, but not necessarily good if you want that solid restaurant experience

Noodle Station
6055 Mission St, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
This place confuses me a little bit because their presentation is always 10 stars- their dishes, their broths, their outward textures always look and seem solidly amazing. Always. I dont think Ive seen a questionable or bad photo from this place out there! Thats pretty incredible. However, the taste of their noodles and soups just seem lacking or somehow just dont quite hit-the-mark. My laksa house special curry dish for example, was made with a thin rice vermicelli noodle that doesnt absorb sauce/flavor at all, so my experience of this dish involved alternating drinking broth, eating toppings, and consuming dry noodles, none of which can really be considered that appealing when separate from each other. The flavor of the broth was intriguing, with lemongrass and other rich flavors which were interesting but not something Id personally crave.I enjoyed my husbands roast duck with dried egg noodles in XO sauce more, but we both agreed that the specific sauce mix was a bit salty and the flavor of this dish was generally off from our personal preferences. All that said, the price and portion sizes were good, the dishes looked good, and I cant dismiss the possibility that these possibly taste perfect to someone perhaps of a Laotian or other background with a different flavor profile than we have... then again, it could just all come down to one guy experimenting with flavors in the back kitchen, who doesnt have it quite down yet... In any case, their flavors just werent for us, unfortunately, and we wont be coming back.
Manila Oriental Market
950 King Dr Suite 112, Daly City, CA 94015, United States
I have been shopping in the market for several years. Actually, I would give five stars for this supermarket because of the good price and the great variety. But I am very disappointed at one of the cashiers, which is the tallest(probably) woman with colored short hair. She is very rude and unfriendly. You will never feel that you are respected as a customer from her. When she finishes scanning the items, she always pushes the food rudely to you and turned her back towards you. Either talk to her coworker from another aisle or just turn her head to Somewhere else. What's more, she still ignores you and just pretends that nobody is in front of her when you say “thanks” and “have a good one”. She really doesn't know how to respect people.I Will NEVER go to her aisle anymore. She will definitely ruin your day. Any cashier over there is way better than her. Stay away from her and save your day!!!
