Thai Dishes Restaurant
707 S Pacific Coast Hwy, Redondo Beach, CA 90277, United States
Tonight we celebrated my aunts 80th birthday. A friend recommended Thai Dishes Redondo Beach. I dont know when Ive had a delivery dinner (or any dinner, really) that was so good. We ordered coconut chicken soup, Pad Thai, spicy Thai fried rice, and Kang Ped Curry. I cannot say enough how wonderful each of the entrees were. The soup had a strong and tangy galengal-lime-lemongrass flavor, offset with the sweetness of the coconut. It is hard to say which was better: the pad thai with a mildly peanut vinegar idea, or the curry* which was utterly complex yet light with notes of basil and cilantro in a sweet coconut broth. (*Note - the curry does not come with rice, so be sure to order some.) Willie, who I think may be the owner, delivered the food himself. He also took the order, and customized the order for our party readily and happily. For example we asked for no mushrooms in the soup - Sure! Can every item be mild? - of course!Could you add egg to the spicy Thai fried rice? Sounds good!He is very personable and friendly. This restaurant could shut down all other Thai food places around, if people only knew. Ive lived here all my life, and this was my first time. Check it out, for sure!

Visited Friday, Dec 16 2023 7:30pm[ Update Dec 21 2023 - We did go back before heading home, 2 more times to this restaurant with a 3rd time for carryout dessert. Sweet sticky rice with coconut ice cream and fried banana with caramel desserts were both amazingly light and delicious as well.? ]On Thursday, after walking back from dinner, we stopped in this cute little place to ask their hours and to look at their menu for perhaps a different night.A very welcoming young man, Nes, gave us a tour of the menu. Hours are 1130am to 9pm, with the last order taken at 830pm. Also we asked someone who was picking up a carry out, if they frequently eat there and she said yes & that the food is always excellent and fresh. Agreed !!!So here we were, trying it out the next evening. Again, Nes was there who was so genuinely happy to see us return. He was so very welcoming, polite & gave us excellent service. This place is small, peaceful & relaxing with a small outside patio that is also very inviting. We felt like Nes was welcoming us over for dinner, just a very pleasant experience. The food was very fresh, nicely presented and quickly prepared. I ordered a mixed vegetables plate and added chicken and my boyfriend had drunken noodles with duck.Everything was amazing, so fresh and deliciously mouthwatering. The prices are also very reasonable. This place is really a hidden gem that I almost want to keep hidden....but I also want them to flourish in business because they deserve it with the care they display in preparing the food and the grateful & humble service they provide.I should also say, I am now a fan of Thai food which I wasnt before visiting. Both dishes we tried were not spicy, I am quite the wimp when it comes to spicy food.We will be returning to try appetizers, more entrees and dessert before going back home to Michigan. Honestly I could eat here every day before we leave and I am so thankful to have discovered this beautiful restaurant.Even the green tea was also very delicious.Thank you.

WOW I never!!I sooooo wanted to like this place but it was a total bust from the beginning.1. The vegetarian options are AWFUL. I got the Fried Rice with veggies and tofu and the rice wasnt even fried. It was a disturbing yellowish color that didnt resemble any fried rice I ever had, and the veggies were frozen peas and carrots. Something you could make at home on a lazy Wednesday. It was an OK dish. I wouldnt recommend it at all.LESSON: NEVER GET BACK OF THE MENU ITEMS!!!2. The bathroom was filthy. FILTHY. Walked in and a large turd was floating in the toilet. (Had to kick the toilet handle to flush it, didnt wanna touch the handle). It was toilet paper covers all over the floor. It looked like a public restroom in a park -_-LESSON: Dirty Restroom = Dirty Kitchen = Dirty Staff3. The kitchen was FILTHY. I sat near the swinging door and caught a glance of the kitchen and was petrified. Cut up boxes on the floor to absorb water or keep the staff from slipping. The floor was visibly wet. Plus it was food particles all on the floor. It wasnt a great sign. A messy kitchen = food poisoning in some occasions. Luckily I didnt order any meat but I was worried about dookie fingers in my fried rice.LESSON: NEVER EAT WHERE THEIR A DIRTY KITCHEN4. The staff was sooooo confused. They mixed up more than one order. They gave me someone elses Tofu Stir-fry. It was at my table for a good 2 mins before they realized it and before I could figure out it wasnt what I ordered. They took it to the man behind me which i thought was kinda awkward since I was breathing over his food seconds prior. But he got his revenge when they accidently gave his table my FRIED RICE!!LESSON: NEVER LAUGH AT SOMEONES MISFORTUNE, IT CAN EASILY HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!!As a borderline germaphobe there were just one too many strikes about this place. I kept thinking ima get gonorrhea or something messing with this service. I would of appreciated it more if the food was actually good. But it was basic.

So glad I finally found a great hainese chicken place near my area! The best part is that it is also a thai chinese hainese chicken place, and it honestly makes me so happy since I grew up eating chicken over rice thai style most of my life. Their menu is limited but honestly it helps when youre not the best at narrowing down your options. I decided to get the fried chicken plate along with the free herbal chicken soup for checking in #protip. I have to say I enjoyed every bite from the soothing soup to the garlicky rice to the moist tender chicken to the flavorful sauces! They have amazing variety in their sauces but my favorite was definitely the classic thai hainese sauce. There wasnt anything that I didnt enjoy about the dish. It was definitely one of the best hainese chicken dishes I have had and is on par with my moms own hainese chicken.! Service !The service was super fast and prompt, and we were quickly greeted immediately as soon as we walked through the door. The person who took our order was especially nice, since he accomadated my order of extra garlic in my rice and additional sauces.!Price Point!Initially I thought the price was a bit on the expensive side for $13, but was I wrong! The portions were big enough for at least 2 people with heaps of chicken. The only downside was the rice to chicken ratio since there was sooo much chicken.!Ambiance!A great place to grab a quick sit down bite. Its set up where you order and pick up your food, similar to that of a food court.!TLDR!Definitely an amazing place to come grab delicious thai style hainese chicken. The service was great, the food was amazing, what more can you ask for.
Little Sister

Behind Little Sister restaurant, there was a very inspiring story about its founder- Chef Tin. He single handily created the fusion Vietnamese restaurant chains and started Southeast Asian culinary trend in greater LA.Chef Tin’s food as he described in an interview, is about family. He created dishes that resembling what he used to eat at home with family. After seeing so many good reviews from some of the most prominent Yelpers, I decided to drive to Redondo beach to try out their food.Coming from the SGV where there are so many outstanding Vietnamese restaurants, I had high expectations as Chef Tin was also from the SGV. I expected the food would be miles better than what I used to here in our neighborhood. The first impression when we entered the restaurant was good. The decoration brought its patrons back to the colonial era with heavy French influences. Love the vibes with the big French windows and the long bars associated with a typical colonial restaurant in Vietnam. However, the food felt far short of my expectation. Despite its claim to be an improvement from SGV Vietnamese food, the fusion version offered here totally messed up the original Vietnamese flavor which should be aromatic and light. The food here, in order to cater to American taste, is very heavily seasoned and not much of the aroma typically emanates from the herbs. With the price 2 times more than the SGV restaurants, I expected a better Vietnamese food experiences. But I have to say the Banh Xeo was very good. I liked the crispy skins and the mixed of the veggies and prawns. I think mungbean was missing from the ingredients of this dish.I hope they have better foods in their other restaurants. Maybe the foods in their downtown LA one have better taste. We will try that locate next time.
