Double Bamboo Restaurant
7013 Katella Ave, Stanton, CA 90680, United States
To be fair, I'll lay the whole scenario. They close at 10p, I ordered at 9:37. I was on my way from another Thai restaurant that was closed and I Siri'ed Double Bamboo. I ordered Green Curry w/Shrimp (which wifey said was good), Chicken Pad Thai, and Shrimp Tom Kai soup. First red flag was he said it'd be ready in 10 mins..When I got there 12 mins later, it was packaged and sitting on a table. I made small talk with an older lady that rung me out. An older man in the kitchen area smiled as I completed my order and exited. They were nice enough. However, I live in Newport Beach about 25 mins away. When I got home and made the spread for my family, the pad tai was inedible. Everyone knows kids love noodles, my kids didn't touch it. The chicken wasn't fully cut and resembled mangled meat. The noodles were clumped and lacked the flavor I was anticipating. Although the temperature was adequate, the dish was dry and not appetizing. The soup was bland and tasted like some concoction with Campbell's tomato creamy soup as the base.As a budget conscious consumer, eating out is not something my family does often. We have more so during the pandemic and civil unrest to support local businesses. Even though I was nonplussed with the food, I felt it was warranted to reach out before reviewing to let them know and to see what they would propose as a remedy. Succinctly, I was told to bring the old food back from last night. That was 10 mins ago..Like I said, my lady liked the green curry. That's why they got the 2, but Double Bamboo is a one hitter quitter 4 me.
Thai Nakorn Restaurant
11951 Beach Blvd, Stanton, CA 90680, United States
Weve been coming here for years and its changed, but not necessarily in a totally bad way. I ordered the satay combo (chicken and pork), but they only gave me chicken. Luckily, it was so good, I didnt mind. The meat was so flavorful on its own, but it comes with a peanut sort of sauce, but it actually took away from the chicken, so I didnt use it. I also got Thai beef salad. This was flavorful, but very spicy. My friend got the shrimp and tofu pad Thai and you cant go wrong with that. It seemed a little under sauced and theyve been skimping out more and more on their ingredients every year, even though the prices keep getting higher and higher. I understand inflation, but please dont start serving lower quality food and/or smaller portions to save money because, pretty soon, loyal customers will stop eating out. I think my biggest thing is the soda. If you want to establish yourself as a restaurant with fancier tables and menu than fast food, please dont serve me soda out of a can that i need to open myself and charge $3.00. Its low class, insulting, and unappealing. You make other great drinks; invest in a soda fountain.I thought there was a reason I hadnt been back in a while and now Im starting to remember. I have very fond memories of this place, from years before, but they are slowly being replaced by disappointment and sadness. 4 stars is being generous at this point. I doubt I will be back.
Lucky Chinese Food
7003 Katella Ave, Stanton, CA 90680, United States
Okay now lets put this in context, this is four stars with the understanding that its cheap Chinese food. This is not a gourmet establishment, it is what it is. But for what it is its quite good.I tried their vegetarian egg rolls which were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, along with a combo including mushroom chicken, and pepper chicken. The pepper chicken was, as some of my friends like to call, white people spicy, which is to say not very spicy. It was, though, very tasty, with a good proportion of chicken to peppers. The mushroom chicken had very good flavor, with big chunks of mushroom. The chicken, however, had a somewhat mushy breading on it that I could have done without. The noodles had a good flavor, and decent consistency, not the best Ive ever had for cheap Chinese food but still pretty good. The portions are extremely generous, the two item combo is certainly enough to share. I didnt count the number of options available, but there were quite a few, so if this kind of food is your thing, you should be able to find something youd like.I will certainly be visiting them again in the future.

Super friendly and very attentive service. The restaurant itself is brand new, clean, and has very nice decor. The food is also very good, but may be a bit more Americanized it seems, as the flavors seem to be a bit on the lighter side compared to most Southeast Asian restaurants.
Kra Z Kais Laotian Barbeque
12885 Beach Blvd Unit 3, Stanton, CA 90680, United States
This week, we explored Kra Z Kais BBQ, snuggled inside Rodeo39 Public Market. Located in Stanton, CA, right off the 22 Freeway. This is Orange County's latest hangout spot. If you are from Southern California, you must be familiar with Anaheim's Packing District or Long Beach Exchange (LBX) - The Hangar. Rodeo39 is no different and a great place to bring a date to dine and drink. At this location, there is ample parking, clean modern restrooms, and outdoor dining patios to catch some fresh air and summer rays.Kra Z Kai is serving up Loatian-style barbeque that'll knock your socks off. Each plate entrée comes with your choice of steamed rice or fried rice and a side salad. I opted for the sticky rice, which is a Lao staple and must be eaten with your hands. You grab a piece of sticky rice, roll it into a ball, and use it to sop up sauces. I couldn't decide on what items to get, so I got their Lao BBQ Mix plate. It comes with your choice of BBQ Chicken Wing or Thigh, BBQ Pork Rib, Lao Sausage and their BBQ Beef Short Rib.Southeast Asian Cuisine harmonizes sweet, salty, sour, spicy and umami, which Kra Z Kai is doing with their Laotian marinade. Each meat item was grilled to perfection. Their meats were tender, juicy, rich, smoky, well-seasoned and well-marinaded. Instead of their side salad, I got their papaya salad, which paired well with sticky rice. Their papaya salad was nice and spicy, balanced with sour and salty to help cut the rich, fattiness and sweetness of their barbequed meats.Kra Z Kai was high on flavor and low on price. The quantity and quality of their food will leave you filled and satisfied, without your pockets feeling empty. The BubbleGutGuys give this place a combined average rating of 3.75 out of 5 guts. Rodeo 39 Public Market
12885 Beach Blvd, Stanton, CA 90680, United States
So Canada doesnt have a lot of these public market style food courts (which seem to be more prevalent in the states), especially not in Alberta, so I was absolutely blown away and in love with Rodeo 39. I think I really have just loved EVERY public market style place I have visited in states thus far, to be honest. From the outside, especially at night, the neon lights of the market immediately pull your attention in as somewhere you would want to check out. The market is super clean and well maintained and there are several (very instagramable) murals. There is lots of ample seating both inside the market and outside in the front. The inside seating is located more in the middle and between the craft beer vendors so a great place to chill and have some drinks with friends while getting food.I loved how many different selections of food there was. There was literally something for everyone - Coffee and doughnuts, ice cream, pasta, pizza, onigiri, Japanese curry, Pho, Asian fusion, Hawaiian, Burgers, beer and so much more. I was especially pleased to find Tenori and the Japanese curry vendors. Im not gonna lie, I ate at both places twice during our vacation cause I just couldnt get enough of their food. There are also a couple of little shops in the market. There was a clothing store and a Japanese novelty store. Oh one extra fun feature in the market is the photobooth store. The store is located directly near the front entrance and has 4 large photo booths, which allow for customization of photos. We squished 5 people into our photos easily. The store also has props (think fun glasses, headbands, hats, etc) for people to use in their photos. We found this to be a really fun experience, especially for the kids and grandparents.I think Rodeo 39 Public Market is one of the things I will miss the most from our vacay. Definitely go check it out for a bite to eat or if you are just lured in by the lights and open and fun style of the venue.
