SGD Tofu House

Seriously, they have the best banchan (side dishes) there are only a few but each one is seasoned really well and so delicious. So gong dong tofu restaurants are a chain and there are many around the bay area but I think this one is one of the best and the customer service is always exceptional! Inside tip....if you have little kids, ask them for the tofu soup for the children and they will bring a kid friendly portion of non spicy tofu soup with beef and a side of rice freeof charge!
Thanh Son Tofu

I usually visit Thanh Son Tofu for their rice noodles (bánh ướt), pork ham (chả lụa), and various desserts. On my recent visit around 9 AM, I spent a total of $72 on food. However, when I got home and cut into the pork ham (the one with the red string), I immediately noticed the texture wasnt fresh and it was super sticky. Taking a bite confirmed my fears – it was incredibly sour. I ended up throwing the entire thing away.I called the store to inform them about the issue and to check their product. The lady on the phone suggested I bring it back for an exchange, but since I had already discarded it, she said there was nothing she could do. I made the call just to inform them, not expecting a refund or exchange, but the response was disappointing. This experience has left me quite disheartened. It seems like they might be reheating unsold items from the day before and reselling them in the morning. I'll be avoiding this place, especially early in the day, and Im losing hope in the quality of their food.
Dong Phuong Tofu

Had the bun bo hue here and my friend had the vegetable spring roll and both were phenomenal. They take cash only so the total was $14.50! Bun bo hue was $10 and spring roll was $4.50. For the amount of food that we both had, it was cheap! All the food here is vegetarian which puts an interesting spin on things and tasted as such. The flavors were fantastic though, something about the fact that it was vegetarian helped contribute to it.The employees were very nice and helpful. The guy gave us recommendations and the most popular dishes (pho, bun bo hue, etc). The place seems like a mom and pop shop and it is one of my favorite places here so far!

This shop is extremely rude, and unreasonable. I came to the shop for the first time. While looking around, I accidentally dropped one of the displayed item, so I picked it up. Then one of the receiptionist asked me (with an unlikable tone) to bring it to their counter, while I was there I said sorry to her. Then after choosing some items, at checkout, another employee/owner asked specifically for my nationality (?), then scolded me again for dropping their item, I suggested that I am happy to pay (even for an unwanted item, bad service over an mere accident). She refused but continued to raise her voice.About the food, nothing special but rather average. Cash only business too. In short, not coming back here again. Rude!
Yummy Tofu and BBQ

Ok, call me weird but I consider a Korean restaurants ability to make a decent Bibimbap sort of a barometer of their whole menu. Its rice with meat and basically banchan (all those yummy Korean side dishes), all in a bowl. I got an order to-go and it was perfection. This was by far the BEST Bibimbap Ive had! A special treat was that the rice was that crunchy type, the fresh, expertly prepared banchan was next-level even without the usual spinach namul (which I didnt miss at all). Truly it was transcendent.Im planning to go back and eat inside next time to enjoy other things in their menu. Fantastic Korean food!

Poor service:1. I took two things to the counter but I was still hesitating to add something. When I checked out, the person didn't ask me if it was that everything. He hurriedly said please check out. The point is that there was only one other customer in the store. Brother, who are you? What are you anxious about?2. I used the amex card to pay. When he saw it later, he immediately reached out his hand and tried to stop the card from being swiped through. After swiping the card, he let out a big sigh and then told me very unhappily, please don't use the American Express card to pay next time. When I asked him why, he said, “Because the handling fee is very expensive and not worth it, don't swipe. Thank you for your cooperation.” Then why don't you disable it, brother? This option of American Express is good, but you still want to stop me from using it? What does it have to do with me if the handling fee is expensive? You have opened a store for 20 years and still care about these few cents. I am really convinced. This attitude is so disgusting. The food tastes bad:The rice balls are just like that, not as delicious as the Xiaoman rice balls.Don't sell the bowl cakes. I've never tasted them so bad. They're even a little watery. The spicy sauce is also bad. Was it made with Sriracha? If you want to do business, be sincere, okay?
Hung Vuong Tofu

Their tofu with the vermicelli and spices (?) is absolutely amazing and cheap! My family always tries to stop by when were nearby. I like the food court style ordering where you tell them what you want and they stuff it into a takeout container for you. Objectively speaking, the service isnt great (especially if you dont speak Vietnamese or expect extremely friendly customer service) but I personally like that no-BS, exchange the food and money and go approach.
Tofoo Com Chay Vegetarian Cuisine
388 E Santa Clara St, San Jose, CA 95113, United States
This is a tiny hole in the wall place. It was a cold and windy day so I was craving for something hot (noodle soup) and spicy is even better. Decided to try this place out since it was a late lunch (around 2pm).This is in downtown San Jose so no parking. Paid street parking only so take that into consideration your time of arrival. The shop has about 2-3 tiny tables (seat 1 each side but youre pushing it for 2) as its extremely cramp.Originally, I wanted to order just the spring rolls and spicy Hue noodle soup. I ended up ordering probably a weeks worth of take-out. In addition to the 2 items above, instead of the steam rice + entrée combo from the hot bar, I bought the entrée individually. Small round container is $6.00, large is $8.50 (I think)?.I got the braised lemongrass tofu, braised pickled Chinese mustard & tofu (this can be very spicy level) for the average person and lastly fried wonton (but they look and tasted more like goyza. This is a no frill, no thrill, tasty yet homey take-out vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine restaurant. Another vegetarian/vegan option for plant based dinners.

Stopped by to get my family’s dinner for takeout. The food was yummy and staff was super friendly. We had combination platters which include fried rice and an egg roll. What a great deal! Szechuan beef and Kung Pao tofu was delicious... a bit spicy as noted so next time will ask for it mild. We also had Chow Mein with pork and chicken.. very yummy.. sautéed string beans were also a nice side. Nice restaurant to have in my neighborhood. Will use it for all our Chinese food takeout orders from now on.
