Dharmas Restaurant
4250 Capitola Rd, Capitola, CA 95010, United States
Quietly nestled between the DMV and AAA, this pseudo-cafeteria style vegetarian restaurant was a great find. I had a very yummy breakfast burrito, which was larger than expected, filled with scrambled tofu, curried potatoes, chives, sour cream, and a salsa on the side (at $12, I thought it wouldnt be worth it, but boy was I wrong!), with a salad to boot.Staff was friendly, and although there was no table.service, and you clean up after yourself, it really was a great experience.

Trestles Restaurant
316 Capitola Ave, Capitola, CA 95010, United States
I was pre-disposed to like Trestles because the owner grew up with my sons here in Santa Cruz, and I know he has a great background of experience working in the business in Napa. What was so great is that it exceeded all my expectations and we had a memorable dinner here. We tried as much as we could possibly eat and every time they brought the next thing, we loved whatever it was more than the last thing we had. Starting with the fantastic Tuna tartar, and Pork Belly appetizers and on to the beet salad and the heirloom tomato salad, we oohed and awed and shared every bite around our table. Then the entrees came and we were equally pleased. My wife loved the halibut and I loved the prime grade New York steak. Rarely do you get this quality anywhere else, and Trestles sure didnt miss a beat with us. And as mentioned by other viewers the french fries done with truffle oil and parmesan cheese on top was special. We didnt have desert as there was just no room left, but I did get the fresh street corn with my meal and it was to die for as well. Roasted and served with lime and cheese on top, and I couldnt get enough...., which is how we felt about everything here. Which just makes it so we cant wait to return for another special meal soon! Top marks for this great new restaurant in Capitola!

WOW is all I can say. I have been there every weekend since it's opened because I am hooked. Most incredible breakfast iv had in Santa Cruz. The flavors, the freshness, the consistency is something you don't find often. I have pretty much tried everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. The cinnamon rolls!!! Omg the cinnamon rolls are not only huge but so tasty and don't leave you feeling overly gluttonous, the perfect amount of sweetness without being too much. The avocado toast is absolutely to die for, the tomato relish on top is out of this world. The biscuit with honey omg insane. The flavors are so well done with each dish. I wish I could eat there everyday, fresh food, sweet staff can't beat it!

Reef Dog Deli
311 Capitola Ave, Capitola, CA 95010, United States
I was down in Capitola pulling my buisness liscense for a roofing project. I decided before I get back on the road I will head down the street to find something to eat. I was glad I did! The owner ! Many people go into buisness, very few are in it 100% The owner was working the cash register talking to a couple of regular customers about the salads and prepackaged ready to bake/cook halibut, tritrip, chicken, pancetta wrapped with bacon stuffed with goodness. I cant do this place justice by just naming only a few of the things they sell. I advise people to try this place! YUMMY! The sandwiches are awesome along with the close knit staff. I was intrigued that the owners dog Reef was a huge influence on the owners establishment. With pictures on the wall with his dog Reef out on the waves like his owner, surfing away a day back in time. It was really a blessing to find this place and to see the owner in love with his buisness and what he does. I WISH I COULD HAVE MET REEF. If you want to find out what a good dog is and owner and food stop by Reefs!!!!!!

Shadowbrook Restaurant
1750 Wharf Rd, Capitola, CA 95010, United States
We went to Shadowbrook and I am so glad we did. First off the atmosphere is amazing. We spent some time before dinner just looking at the beautiful gardens. They will pick you up in a vintage taxi if you are within 3 miles of the restaurant. The cable car ride to the restaurant was so cute. The restaurant is gorgeous. You can feel the history. I bet it was a nice place to live back in the day. The food....AMAZING! We had a bunch of different pallets in our group and even a vegetarian. I got the scallops and mash. They were so buttery and melt in your mouth good. My boyfriend got the chicken Parmigiano and pasta. He said it was the best hes ever eaten. My best friends got the truffle gnocchi and the steak and the smoked gouda potatoes au gratin. The gnocchi was so flavorful and pillowy. The steak was cooked perfectly and was so nice and not chewy. A great piece of meat. The star of the whole meal was those potatoes. Im dreaming about them. They shaved them down in to so many layers like a baklava and the texture was crunchy and cheesy. Probably the best thing Ive ever eaten and Im a foodie and eat out a lot. Im going to try to copy them at home since I live in Texas and cant drive up there whenever I want. Thank you for the great meal and service. The wine and drinks were also amazing. They even gave us some chocolate truffles because it was our anniversary. They were amazing too!!! Dont sleep on this place. Its amazing.

Left Coast Sausage Worx
107 San Jose Ave, Capitola, CA 95010, United States
If you are trying to figure out what to eat in Capitola I HIGHLY recommend Left Coast Sausage Worx.To start the service was outstanding. Very friendly and welcoming. The choices of sausage were spot on. I normally stay away from the average hot dog. But Left Coast Sausage Worx has some of the highest quality of sausages in Santa Cruz. They post all the details of the sausage on the menu and source multiple options from Corralitos, home to mouth watering sausages.Their buns are sourced from Aldos bakery. A local bakery/restaurant that my family has been going to for years. For thoes not interested in meat they have a veggie sausage! This was my order and it was the most flavorful sausage I had ever tried. Had my boyfriend try it and he was mind blown for how rich it was with italian flavor. You can find some bomb eats here without breaking the bank.Highly recommend and will be returning.

Affordable Chef Services LLC
1871 43rd Ave, Capitola, CA 95010, United States
My son lives in Santa Cruz and was getting married in August. I was in charge of the rehearsal dinner. I didnt start looking for venue until the end of May. I was panicking because I wasnt having any luck on such short notice. Reluctantly, I decided to have the dinner at the house I was renting on the beach. A house I had never seen. I searched the Internet and found Chef Marks website. Afraid that I would come up against another, no, we cant help you on such short notice, I called Mark with my fingers crossed hoping he would be my Hero. My needs were a little more complicated than just needing some food on a specific date. I also needed a menu for my vegetarian and gluten free guest, as well as, a satisfying selection for my meat eaters. Did I mention, to top it off, I hadnt seen the house I was renting except in pictures? In steps my Hero. Not only was his fresh menu ideas not your typical catered affair food; he went to the house to view it for me to make sure it would accommodate 25 people. He also, transformed the house to fulfill my vision of a casual, yet elegant indoor barbecue! He met me at the house when I got to town to assure me he had everything under control. That evening when we came back from the wedding rehearsal, his staff had transformed the great room into a beautiful dining room with white lines, glass ware, china and the gorgeous flower arrangements I chose for the tables. All overlooking the ocean view. The staff started by walking around offering appetizers and ran the show all evening, including pouring the champagne for the toast at the end of the night. Everyone raved about the food and how beautiful everything looked.Mark took what could have been a very stressful situation for this out of state, Mother of the Groom, and made me look like a rock star! I have been raving about the Affordable Chef to everyone who has asked about the wedding. I attend catered events frequently in my line of work. Marks food and service were one of the best Ive had. THANK YOU AFFORDABLE CHEF! You customer service skills are exemplary and its proof you love what you do!

Mr Toots Coffeehouse
231 Esplanade #100, Capitola, CA 95010, United States
My weekends now start with a ritualistic pilgrimage to the legendary Mr Toots Coffee House. I commence this journey still in my pajamas, much to the shock of my neighbors and the local fauna, but the temptation of Mr Toots coffee is far too grand to be delayed by such trivial matters as dressing appropriately. The staff, as enthusiastic about mornings as a rooster on a caffeine high, greet me like a long lost friend, possibly because theyve seen me more often in my PJs than even my own cat. They are so amiable that Im starting to believe theyve all graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Customer Service.Once I secure my daily dose of sunshine in a cup, I take a seat by the window. The view! If Monet and Van Gogh had a paint-off to capture the beauty of Capitola Village and the shimmering ocean beyond, theyd still struggle to outdo this vista. Its as if every day someone up there hits the Bob Ross happy little trees button. But wait, theres more! The breakfast snacks - oh, the sweet breakfast snacks! I am convinced they have a secret partnership with the Tooth Fairy. Their pastries are so heavenly, its like every bite sings a symphony, and my taste buds have VIP seats. I cant be sure, but I think I heard my muffin hum Beethovens 9th Symphony last Sunday. In short, Mr Toots Coffee House is a magical symphony of caffeine, sweetness, and mesmerizing views, conducted by the friendliest orchestra of baristas. Its not just a coffee house, its an experience. One that helps me forgive my alarm clock for its early morning sins. So heres to you, Mr Toots. I raise my coffee mug in salute and give you my sleep-deprived but wholehearted five stars! ?????
