Annapurna Cuisine
10200 Venice Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232, United States
Annapurna is a decent Indian Vegetarian restaurant. Artesia has much better options for Indian vegetarian food, but if youre looking for something near Culver City/Westwood, its a decent option.Ordered two items:1. Kadai Paneer: Ordered this item alone first. It was very bland. Super disappointed. They also didnt offer it with basmati rice. It almost felt like eating South Indian rice with North Indian curry. Given that their North Indian items were pretty average, decided to try something South Indian.2. Karaikudi Kothu Parotta: Very flavorful and tasty! We loved it actually. Decided that the next time we visit here, well likely only try the South Indian items. The waiters could offer a better ordering experience overall.

Banana Leaf - Indian Restaurant in Culver City
10408 Venice Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232, United States
Leaf Indian specializes in a fixed menu and a rotating seasonal menu of South Indian dish specialties. The owner, a very friendly man named Sri, is proudly bringing South Indian dishes and new tastes to the Los Angeles area that have not been seen here before. One unusual item is the powdered leaf of the tamarind, which is grown for him and imported from India. This is featured prominently in the Tamarind Leaf Dal. He is very eager to offer lots of variety on his seasonal and rotating specials, along with the dishes that will always be available on the menu. All meats are halal.I sampled quite a few of these dishes, and all were easy on a palate, mine, that does not like hot foods, spice-wise.- Two salads: A simple combination of black eye peas, diced cucumber, tomato, red onion and a sprinkling of chat masala and lemon was very clean tasting and pleasant. A pasta salad of vermicelli accented by cilantro, peanuts, fresh curry leaves, and mustard and cumin seed also was light and yummy.- On a riff off onion bajis, the chef fried a long slice of green plantain in baji batter, like an Indian tempura accompanied by a chutney of fresh grated coconut, cilantro, tamarind and chile.- I LOVED the dry style Chicken 65 dish, which has a crunchy coating (and the secret ingredient there is corn starch); kind of like air fried buffalo wings. There is also a wet style which includes a chunky, herby glaze. Sri mentioned that all the meats they serve are marinated for 24 hours first, and that is what keeps them so moist.- I have also sampled another dish that is a WINNER - the Hyderabad Tilapia Filet, with a crunchy Baja-Fish style coating but topped with a sauce of yogurt, curry masala, onion, cumin and coriander.- Rojan Josh made with goat sukka, a stew from the Andhra Pradesh region, includes cashews and mild curry saucing.- There is a wide selection of different Biryanis, including chicken, goat, another kind of goat called Dindigul, and paneer cheese. A specialty is the - -Dindigul Biryani including a special rice (not Basmati) cooked with goat, and including a whole hardboiled egg. This is a meal in itself. If dal is your thing, they offer a large assortment: toor dal, mango toor dal, dal makhani, and tamarind leaf dal.We finished our lovely meal with sweet rasmalai cake and gulub jamon cake - both variations on the usual deserts and his creation. The restaurant is new so a bit unfinished décor-wise, but this is a small, casual anytime you want great South Indian food spot to visit over and over. Pricing is low for the high quality, with all dishes less than $15. Get it while you can!

MAHAN INDIAN RESTAURANT Best Indian Restaurant ...
5660 Selmaraine Dr, Culver City, CA 90230, United States
I ordered take out from this restaurant recently. Their menu is well priced which is a nice surprise for west LA. I searched online and it appears to be a new business that opened recently by a well-known 5-star Indian cuisine chef. So don't let the lack of reviews fool you. The food is amazing! I've tried dozens of saag tofus over the years and this was definitely in the top. My partner enjoyed his paneer makhani, he said the curry was very flavorful and creamy. Their samosas are very tasty and perfectly crispy. And the roti is thick and satisfying. I live nearby so I'll be ordering from Mahan frequently! Highly recommended.

sweetgreen
8840 Washington Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232, United States
I walk in and there are 5-6 employees who could all see me waiting to be served and none approached me until one finally did after several minutes of me standing with no one ahead of me. I ordered the crispy bowl. The girl making my bowl literally scrapes a scoop of burnt chicken scraps from the bottom which was all that was left of the blackened chicken from the hot bar. I ask her if they were making more chicken she said no. She scrapes another scoop of burnt leftover scraps onto my bowl. I ask her if I can get tofu instead since they didnt have anymore of the chicken and she said that it was extra. I said I didnt want the order and walked out. She yelled at me as I was walking out that she put 2 scoops like she was doing me a huge favor. Yeah two scoops of burnt leftover chicken skin scraped from the bottom of the container. I have been to this location once before months ago and the staff were also unfriendly and the portion of chicken served for the huge bowl I ordered was literally 3 chunks which wasnt much of an improvement from today. Very disappointing and a general turn off for me to go to other sweet green locations. Ill be sticking to Loqui the Mexican spot right behind sweetgreen at the Platform.

Hey, Sunshine Kitchen
3863 Overland Ave, Culver City, CA 90232, United States
Wow, where do I start.Every square inch of Hey, Sunshine Kitchen sparkles with good juju. The bright signage outside previewed the ear-to-ear grin that I was met with by the gentle and welcoming staff behind the counter. I must say I had a tough choice with selecting my lunch items, but upon recommendation by a lovely human named Heather (who it turns out is one of the co-founders of HSK) I settled on the Spicy Carnitas Tacos and the Mediterranean Chickpea bowl.Mind = blown, heart = wide open.Having been a lifelong vegetarian, Ive sampled hundreds of plant-based restaurants across many countries, and can say with full conviction that Hey, Sunshine outshines them all! Not only did I find the flavors so refreshing, they had a very particular profile Ive never sampled before. Not only that, the preps were filled with freshness and were plated beautifully. I could tell that each part of the menu and kitchen operations was tended to with care, love, and with a singular focus on total gustatory delight. And, to top it all off, the decorations in the bathroom were a total feast for the eyes (pun fully intended). Do yourself a favor (and flavor!) and welcome in the summer with a trip to this place. Its sublime. It helps that its SO central and easy to get to (with plenty of parking pretty readily available).Writing this makes me want to rush back there, actually. As it happens, Im about 15 minutes away, so I might do just that :)

SAGE TO GO DELIVERY & PICKUP ONLY CULVER CITY
5668 Selmaraine Dr, Culver City, CA 90230, United States
I almost never leave reviews but this place has been such a pleasure to eat at every single time. As someone who has life threatening nut allergies and has been vegetarian for most of my life, it’s been pretty impossible to find veggie friendly restaurants/dishes/cuisines that i’m able to eat due to so much cross contamination/allergens. Sage has ALWAYS accommodated me, (especially for online orders which is unheard of!!) and they have the best vegan/vegetarian options I’ve ever had. Seriously this place has been a life saver to me through the pandemic and now and will continue to be! Thank you so much!!

India Sweets & Spices
9409 Venice Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232, United States
It’s hard to find yummy indian fast-food spots. Usually they are sit down restaurants, and though the beloved Indian buffet allows you to get food to go, it can be pricey. This is an Indian market that sells prepared food. It is very reasonably priced and the food tastes good. It’s mostly vegetarian dishes, rices, curries, lentils and such. They have good samosas that are big and vegetable pakora. Can’t forget the condiments: tamarind chutney and green chutney. I love being able to try several different dishes on one plate, so this place is great because they have combination plates and you can get bread, samosa/pakora, and a lassi (depending on what size combo you get). For those of you that get frustrated at restaurants because you only have the option of getting one big entree but want to try several things, this would be a good place to go. The downside is that they don’t have the Indian favorites like Tikka Masala, Lamb vindaloo, or palaak paneer. It’s more of a casual eats kind of place, to get Indian staple dishes but every Indian dish is flavorful so you can’t go wrong with even the most basic of dishes. It is a very small market, but like any Indian market in the city they pack all that they can, (and all that you need really) into a convenience store size space. Bulk basmati and jasmine rices, all the spices, sauces, frozen items like naan, samosas, and dinners, chai and masala teas, and several other things. They also, as its name implies, sell Indian desserts/sweets. Quite contrary to my feelings about the food, I’m not a fan of indian sweets so I have never tried any of their’s and can’t report on whether they’re good or not.

Chicas Tacos
9345 Culver Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232, United States
These were pretty great tacos! I love the location in Culver City, and the restaurant decor is absolutely beautiful. The concept of this place is really cute and they have some really cute merch to go with it!I love that they have vegan and vegetarian options, and I tried their impossible taco with their own tacossauce and it was pretty good. Their steak and pork tacos are delicious, both meats are slow braised for over nine hours...And they had really good flavors in the tacos. I also really enjoyed their deep dish taco pizza as well as their chips, salsa, and guacamole. I think this is a great place to come and get get Tacos and drinks with your friends on a night out, and its also a great family spot too.MUST ORDER! Coconut Cream Horchata

This a vegetarian restaurant. I am glad that it is a complete vegetarian restaurant. The food was okay. The taste was decent. The decor inside was nice. I really liked it.The door is in the front parking in back. There is a separate small bar for water and other amenities. They have soy based meat. I wont say it the best soy based meat, but its not that bad either.
