One of my favorite places in town to grab lunch. Pretty much everything on the menu is good. My go-to is the deluxe falafel sandwich with extra shatta, but when Im not in a vegetarian mood, I also like the gyros, shawarma, kebabs, and burgers. (You wouldnt expect the Mediterranean restaurant to be one of the best burger joints in town, but they make the beef patties in-house with onions and spices and its ??.) Compared to the other Mediterranean restaurant within a 2-block radius, East West Cafe, the atmosphere is definitely not as nice (Id say more diner-esque than anything else?), but the prices are cheaper and, AFAICT, where the menus overlap, the food is just as good if not better.

Ordered the chicken spring rolls. Which was made with precooked packaged chicken that had been chopped so gross. Additionally they served the food on a plate covered in foil then wrapped the food in foil. The foil was sticking to the food which can cause cross contamination of metals into food. Waste of money threw it away.

Love the pizza but we have ordered the hand made bread a couple of times recently and they substitute for the bread made in the shape of the pizza. We dont like that kind. It shouldnt be available on the online menu if they dont have it. Tried to call to get it fixed and the employee was rude and short and hung up before we were done talking. Tried to call back and it rang forever. Tried again and they finally answered and his response was call me back I have customers and he hung up. Really, what am I? I think Im a customer too. Obviously needs some training on customer service.

Dont let the odd name fool you. This place offers stellar gourmet pizza that is bursting with flavor and textures. It definitely tastes like California cuisine and isnt your typical pizza flavors or format.Even though a typical pie is round, the pizza slices here are rectangular and served by weight, which is kind of hard to grasp; But after your first visit and an explanation by the server, you will easily be comfortable ordering next time. You can mix and match pizzas to have a couple of different varieties on your plate.The staff is unbelievably welcoming and cheerful. The restaurant is small, but cozy and feels inviting. When I went there for dinner on a weeknight, there was a line of about 3 people in front of me and the line went quickly, but the place was well-attended for sure.It seems they put up varying different pizzas to choose slices from. When I was there, two were vegetarian and one was meat. (Im a vegetarian). The flavors and textures are so robust, that even the biggest carnivore would not miss the meat on one of the vegetarian pizzas. The pizzas feel very satiating. Overall, it is a fantastic gourmet pizza experience that deserves your visit.
