Golden Flower Veggie Vietnamese Restaurant
14942 Bushard St, Westminster, CA 92683, United States
2012-12. Opened about 7 months ago. Replaced the old Pho shops that were at this same location. Buddhist leader nearby inspired the opening of a vegetarian restaurant. Now, taste. For a pure vegetarian clone of standard Vietnamese dishes, among one of the better vegetarian places visited, with two vegetarian friends voting yes. For me, its a five star within the vegetarian niche. The basic pho bowl replaces meats with tofu, and yes, the broth is sweeter than standard meat-based pho at nearby excellent Pho 79 and you can tell right away its not meat based, but smells and tastes delicious....for a vegetarian dish.Compared to the actual pho at Pho 79, this is a 4 star because it lacks the meat flavors. Nonetheless, completely edible and I had no issues finishing the entire bowl and feeling satisfied. Both vegetarians who wanted to eat here were also happy with their eggroll and fried tofu on vermicelli, as well as the rice dish.Naturally, not a vegetarian myself, so no reason to come again versus Pho 79. But for anyone in the area who is vegetarian, its a must try because it really is pretty delicious! Hsi Lai Temple is another great place for vegetarians, but thats a drive up to the temple from OC.

This restaurant has such good quality and large varieties of delicious vegetarian Vietnamese dishes. Their bun bo hue is pretty good compared to most Vietnamese vegetarian restaurants around OC. If youre looking for delicious, high quality, vegetarian Vietnamese food with a great ambience, this is the place.
Ikes Love & Sandwiches
15062 Goldenwest St, Westminster, CA 92683, United States
Ikes is my FAVORITE sandwich shop ever! Each sandwich has a unique, memorable name, and the flavors in every bite are just as unique! Im a huge fan of the Red Pesto they make, so I usually get either the Jim Rome (Turkey, Avocado, Red Pesto, and Cheddar), or the Reading Rainbow (Vegetarian) on a Dutch Crunch sub ? Although I gotta say, I personally think a great place to start for a first timer is the Backstabber (Halal Chicken, Creamy Caesar, Marinated Artichoke Hearts, and Provolone.) Ikes signature Halal chicken is so tender and flavorful, combined with the creamy Caesar sauce here, its no joke that this sandwich would bring any Roman emperor to their knees. And one of the best parts of all of Ikes signature subs, they all come with fresh tomato, shredded lettuce, and Ikes Dirty Sauce. The sauce is everything, seriously, so dont miss out, get all that good stuff! And with over 800 sandwiches and endless combinations of ingredients, you can make a vegetarian and even vegan version of whatever your dream sub might be. The possibilities are endless, so VEGANS REJOICE! ?This new location right off Goldenwest and Bolsa is probably going to become my new regular spot since its right next to my work, and the fresh staff is so friendly too ☺️ Im so happy they finally opened this store, owned by the same guy who also runs the Fountain Valley location a couple miles away. I was lucky enough to meet the owner during their soft opening this week, and he was extremely friendly, and generous enough to give me a free sandwich for my sister back home, a loyal Ikes fan through and through! So definitely stop by, soak up that Ikes Dirty Sauce, and prepare to ditch Subway (respectfully, sorry Jared ??)Pictured is a Vegan Reading Rainbow on Dutch Crunch, with vegan cheese to substitute the usual cheddar, and vegetarian Red Pesto on the side ?Regular hours and current soft opening hours are also pictured.
Pieology Huntington BeachWestminster
16338 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA 92683, United States
For those toxic positive individuals in the crowd, Ill state outright that I hold high standards as it concerns the quality of pizza. It can be a difficult task to satisfy my rare pizza cravings, but there are many who have managed to do it with ease. However, Pieology is another in an even longer list of those who brought me nothing more than utter disappointment.I ordered a gluten free pizza with black olives and onions, and for twenty-five bucks I was expecting something more on the edible side. Take into account that I could care less if a tiny pizza is as pricey as sixty dollars if it is delicious, but this pizza was anything but worth its price. Id go as far as calling it an egregious example of what pizza should be.The gluten free pizza I ordered was thin, the toppings were so scarce that I couldve ordered all cheese and thered be no difference, and worst of all they didnt cook it to a nice crisp. I cant stand biting into a, doughy, undercooked pizza, and everyone knows that gluten free pizza needs to be cooked longer than your standard dish to get that proper crisp. To add onto my distaste for the culinary experience Pieology offered, the pizza was very oily and covered everything in a nasty residue.Id totally give this place another shot if the price matched the quality, but after being handed this level of careless pizza creation I dont feel confident in spending any money here again. Cest la vie!

Recently my friend and coworker Michi baught a couple of sandwiches ? from this place and gave me one of the sandwiches ? and let me tell you that it was one of the best pastrami sandwiches ? Ive had. Ive been to many different sandwich ? shops including some of the well known franchise sandwich ? shops and they have nothing on this place. The place is a hole in the wall old place and the owner a cool guy. Today I stopped buy to grab a sandwich and I couldnt make up my mind cause I saw on the menu a few sandwiches that I would like to try. So I am coming by tomorrow and bringing the whole family to eat here my treat. If you are in the neighborhood I highly recommend this place. And if you live from a distance, this pla e is worth the drive. Im making this one one of my favorite places for sandwiches. Oh and the size of the sandwich you get for the price is more then well worth it. Enjoy

I was in Westminster today and wondered if there were any good vegetarian places nearby. Turns out Little Saigon is a thing in Westminster and if anybody knows vegetarian its the Vietnamese. There were too many vegetarian Vietnamese restaurants to choose from, but this place stood out among them because it was sushi. Great! I was actually in the mood for sushi and I hadnt had vegetarian sushi in maybe a decade. The place was a little easy to miss so I double checked street view and managed to figure out where it was. It was in the afternoon when I went and it wasnt super busy; the vibe was extremely chilled out and cozy due to the small space and selection of music. They were playing what sounded like city pop on the speakers and between that and my server wearing a Street Fighter shirt I immediately got the impression that this was a hip place. I was glad to have come here even before I ordered.I ordered a miso soup and the crunchy roll. The roll was huge and delicious. The miso soup was a bit lacking; it didnt have the richness or saltiness I am used to with miso soup, which was disappointing, but it might be because it doesnt have bonito in it. Still, I think vegan miso soup could still be a little more flavorful than this was. I was mostly full on just the roll and soup but I hadnt eaten all day and I was enjoying the company of my server so I decided to hang out for a little while longer and I ordered a hand roll, which was pretty good.I definitely want to come back to this place. Itd be a great place to bring my girlfriend. I wish I lived a little closer, though; its a bit out of the way but if Im ever in the area again Im definitely stopping by.
Shinobu Japanese BBQ
15202 Goldenwest St, Westminster, CA 92683, United States
Meh experience. We did AYCE Gold on a Thursday night. Very expensive menu, especially considering the location.Meat was good, but not sure if it was great enough to justify the price. Outside skirt was to die for. Beef belly and prime short rib were quite delicious as well. Obviously you don't go to a bbq place for shrimp and duck, but both of those were strange enough to be on the menu and ended up tasting funny. Would not recommend the shrimp or duck at all.Hated the atmosphere of this restaurant. I understand the dark lighting is an attempt at an aesthetic ambience, but it's ridiculous when I can barely see the color of the meat on the grill. Not to mention, the fan was in the way, so it was a struggle to converse with people sitting on the other side of the table. Turn the lights on a Tiny bit, and you can still create a dark atmosphere while letting us see how cooked our meat is.Service was excellent, but we came on an early Thursday evening with very few people (just two other parties) in the restaurant. Considering we ran up to the 90min limit (and still had a bit of a stomach left), the time limit would be a significant concern if the restaurant is more crowded and service was not as quick.Another note on service: they have a lot of younger workers, and they are bustling with energy and positivity. We enjoyed when they took our meat orders; however, we certainly did not enjoy the older servers, who seemed grumpy to be there.Something strange at the end of our meal... We were told after the 90min timer ended that we could order dessert and have all-you-can-eat ice-cream. But then one server cut us off at two scoops and said they could only serve two rounds for each person. Questionable that another server had told us AYCE ice-cream. Also the supposed “2-round limit” was nowhere to be found on their menu. Place was not crowded, so not sure why they were rushing us to exit their restaurant. With all that said, we had a solid meal. Personally would not return, but it's worth a shot for anyone who loves bbq.
Ham n Scram

Hands down one of the best breakfast burrito joints in all of California - and thats saying a lot coming from me because I dont live anywhere close to this yet Ive been coming to them time and time again for the past four years and finished two loyalty cards (which by the way I highly recommend getting so you can get a free burrito after your 10th purchase!) And I live in the valley, in fact next to the all local famous corner cottage, and I will say this...if I had to choose between the two, Id choose this place, no questions! The chunks of smokey ham is all i need to say how absolutely delicious this place is! It is definitely my go-to spot for breakfast burritos in the OC!It puts other ham breakfast burritos to serious shame!I think what sets them apart from all the other spots is based on the following:1) THE CUSTOMER SERVICE - great great beyond great! and he emphasizes hes about customer service too. he remembers customers which is nice, and they all seem like regulars, another i look out for when im on the hunt for a place i plan on going back to more than once.2) PROPORTION - and im not just talking about size, but im talking about egg to ham to cheese to the usual filler potato - equal amounts in each burritto....I LOVE THAT!
