Rang Dong Restaurant
660 Central Ave Suite C, Alameda, CA 94501, United States
I had a craving for Banh Mi. My little bro told me about this spot. Well today I needed my fix, so I took a drive. As I walked in I was greeted by a very nice friendly and respectful lady who asked me to take a seat. So, I did right where there was a stack of menus and I grabbed one. I wanted to try different meats to see which one I liked the best. My brother wanted the shredded pork so I got one too. Then I ordered a chicken and a beef. I know that is a lot but I needed my fix! I hope you understand? LOL Yes I can eat especially when I crave something I have not had in a long time. I told the Lady I will wait outside in my truck and she said she would bring the food out to me. Is that sweet or what. The wait was not that long and she did bring the food out in a very professional and friendly manner. So, to me the service was very nice. Me and brother drove to our hangout and was getting sun and eating outside. Nice day. I tried the pork first which was very good and had some very hot green chile which I love. Then the chicken, again very good and tasty with that heat which I loved. I told my brother when I write the review I will use a word that I never use to describe food? I said I will use the word lovely. I told my brother these were some lovely sandwiches. LOL! I know that sounds funny but they were very lovely sandwiches! Lastly the beef, I preferred the other two. The beef for some reason did not have the heat and flavor as the pork and chicken but still good but not as good as the other two. The Banh Mi from this place all in all quenched my craving in a very nice way. So, well worth the trip and I will try other dishes when I have the craving for Vietnamese Food. My brother told me there are other dishes I should try like their pho. I recommend Rang Dong for their very nice service and very lovely Banh Mi! Alameda you have a hidden gem on your hands so show your support and go get some! Thank You Rang Dong! 5 Stars!!
Sidestreet Pho
2304 Encinal Ave, Alameda, CA 94501, United States
Good variety of soups - pho and several other staple Vietnamese soups. Some days its as good as San Jose and other days its mediocre. Still the best Vietnamese restaurant in Alameda so far. It gets pretty crowded and waiting times can be long. The restaurant is also pretty cramped since they try to put in as many tables as possible. Regardless service is still attentive.
Dragon Rouge Bistro Alameda
2337 Blanding Ave, Alameda, CA 94501, United States
Alamedas best Vietnamese restaurant. Set at the foot of the Park Street Bridge with a wonderful water view, this is the place to go for Pho and other Vietnamese dishes. The wait staff is attentive and responsive
Vietnam House Restaurant
1527 Park St, Alameda, CA 94501, United States
A casual Vietnamese restaurant in Alameda utilizes the old Wiener Schnitzel building. They made some improvements in that the outside seating area is now somewhat enclosed. Food is good with friendly service. I have tried their pho as well as their seafood noodle soup. Both were good. Dress warm if the weather is cool, as the covered outside seating area could be somewhat cool. There is no inside seating. Dogs are allowed in the covered area which makes this place one of my favorite casual restaurants in Alameda. There is plenty of parking space which is very rare for business on Park Street.
Bacogai

So this was a random find and was only craving some hot pot on a cold Monday sprinkly evening. This place popped up on Yelp while checking in the area I was in and I said lets check it out. We arrived around 6ish and there was not too many people but by the time we left, it was 3/4 full.A very modern ambiance for a Vietnamese restaurant. Nicely decorated and plenty of tables even for a big group. Its located in the old Blanding shopping area now where Nob Hills Market is where they modernized the place from my childhood days in Alameda. Alameda has been changing a lot over the decade and for the better with more places to eat.We ordered their sangria and it was pretty good. We also ordered their Beef Luc Lac. Very good portions of beef. The marinated beef was very good and we finished all of that. We also ordered their Lau Pork Bone Marrow soup, and added Wagyu beef and some enoki mushrooms! Not a disappoint. I actually thought the pot was small and that it was not enough for my husband and I to share but I was so wrong!! Very rich broth but once you add the veggies it makes the broth so much better. The broth was so good and creamy.Since it was only two of us, we couldnt order more or add a dessert to try because we were just too full from two things. Service was great! We will definitely be back to try other things. If you like hot pot style, come try this place.
Pho Anh Dao
1919 Webster St, Alameda, CA 94501, United States
Pho Anh Dao is a Vietnamese restaurant in Alameda that I decided to try a couple of days as it seemed to have OK ratings on Yelp. It is located on Webster & Atlantic and unlike most places on Webster has a small parking lot which I guess it shares with a hotel that is present in the back.It is actually two restaurants at the same location. You have Bucket O Crawfish on the left/front and Pho Anh Dao to the right/back section. The menu is like any other Vietnamese restaurant which includes Pho, Bun and rice plates. I decided to get the Bo Kho ($9.25 for extra-large) which is stewed beef noodle soup, to-go. I had to pay cash as they have a minimum to use credit cards that I did not hit. After ordering it was a short 10-minute wait and I was on my way.I got two containers one with the noodles and the other with the soup, which was a good start but unfortunately it did not go any further. The noodles had all clumped together and turned into one hard lump. No amount of soup was going to help loosen them up. This was like eating rice cakes instead of noodles. The soup itself was weak and had about 4 pieces of beef inside. Overall a very poor dish.Price wise it was pretty cheap but the quality of food was terrible. I think these folks should actually take some time and see what they are actually serving to their customers to understand their shortcomings. After this experience I doubt that I will return.
Pho Nation Express

Ufff. This is a rough review for me. I left it neutral because of a few reasons.1. Its just basicThe reality is that yes, its pho, but iv had way better for less sadly.2. They dont even serve it in a real bowlThey gave me a small to go bowl when I was waiting for a bigger sized bowl(what you normally get from eating in)3. I actually had to wait. Not a crazy amount, but normally when you get pho at any restaurant, you get a lot in a super quick period of time. This place is like a tea shop and pho restaurant all in one. But if you get tea you pay separately than if you get soup or actual food. Which is kinda weird. Spent $30 and honestly dont feel like Id go back knowing there are better places with more portion with a faster response than here. Dont get me wrong. Food was decent. And if I was working around alameda and had to get a bite to eat Id probably go next door. ? looks like they have sushi. Thus place is definitely more for the younger generation because I had at least 10 kids in front of me all go in for teas and Boba. I guess Im just a little more old school.
Pho Shop
333 Alameda St # 125, Los Angeles, CA 90013, United States
Gamsahabnida! Soup!! Delicious warm soup! While coming to the plaza to get some lattes at Coffee Bean, wife and I walked around and were attracted at how busy this location was. We made it a point to come back and try this Pho Shop. While never having tried Pho, I read through the menu and saw they have Ox Tail Pho. I ordered that and my wife ordered the House Fried Rice. We have been coming to this location for a couple of cold and rainy days and the soup just hits the spot. The ladies working hard are always attentive and respectful. By our third visit one of the ladies recognized us and almost helped us immediately...but alas the other lady stopped her and helped the other waiting customer. Fair is fair. The location is spaced out nicely. Many tables to accommodate visitors. All in all a nice location to enjoy soup with your loved one, a friend, or one of those days to be alone.Thank you and God bless you.
Pho Sinh Alameda

Craving for a hot pho in the neighborhood of Alameda after whole morning of meeting and Found this new restaurant on yelp search.Very nice and clean Vietnamese restaurant. Smiley server was very courteous. The no. 11 pho was hot and delicious. Plenty ingredients filled in the pretty big size of bowl. There weren’t many customers. But we certainly enjoyed it very much. Will try different items at our next visit.

Not authentic at all to me. Very disappointing. Americanized Vietnamese food served in smaller portions than real Vietnamese restaurants for higher prices. I think they are trying to pull a Slanted Door, but for lunch. Raise the price, make it slightly bland. Use pretty plates and people will think it is cuisine.
