Nong L Vietnamese Cafe
145 N La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036, United States
There are very few clean and comfortable Vietnamese restaurants. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, much like dining in a café.Very clean Vietnamese restaurant, located near Hollywood but easy to park! There are usually not many people here, and the waiters are handsome and friendly, and are very attentive when recommending dishes.GOI CUON Spring Roll Shrimp Vietnamese Spring Roll ($8.75)The spring roll skin is made by using rice to make it very thin, but it will not break. It tastes slightly chewy and is wrapped in meaty and chewy sweet shrimps. The nine-story pagoda pandan leaves inside have a rich and tangy flavorThe sweet and sour sauce is very appetizing!!DAC BIET filet mignon, beef balls and pho ($17.5)The size served is what an adult man can eat.A large bowl is good for several meals, the meat is soft and tender, and the beef balls are full of beef flavor. The soup is relatively light, and Dandans chicken broth is very refreshing. You can add your own lemon, and the portion is huge. You will be very full after eating, and you have to take it out to finish it.Overall, the eel is a good deal. The only drawback is that the food is served slowly. It took almost half an hour after I sat down to eat.Awesome vietnamese restaurant ever!!Spacious and bright contrast to others.Quite comfortable as cafe shopServer gave us several suggestions to choose friendly, we really appreciate of it.GOI CUON Spring Roll ($8.75)Im not a spring roll lover, but these rolls are amazing!!Fresh prawns filled with tangy favor of mint & lettuce, giving us good appetite.DAC BIET Pho ($17.5)Super size of Pho, I order two then wrap up for another meal.Filet briskets are so tender, also with some beef balls, rice noodles as the same.Soup is not that salty, so I drink up all.The only cons. is they serve really slow, we wait at least 20 mins to get first dishes, but food will be worth it for waiting.

Pho Tay Bac Restaurant

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in North OC. I am fortunate to live in Brea and eat here almost weekly. Nothing cures a hangover better than rare steak pho add meatball! My mom had been hospitalized the last 2 weeks. My dad has never had food from Pho Tay Bac before and tonight was a first for him. He had the M1: Pan Fried noodle with veggies and steak. His smile is massive and he agrees the food is delicious! For his brief happiness, I will always love Pho Tay Bac.

The manager suggested a few items on the menu which I found super helpful given that everything looked so good.We ordered The pork belly & loin, spring rolls and A few more items. Everything was absolutely delicious. The meat was so tender and Juicy. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the flavors were perfect. I went to Thai 7 Bistro 3 times, always warmly welcomed by Marilyn, the owner or her mom, Betty. Small but cozy restaurant with good Thai food, especially delicious Pho, a famous Vietnamese beef noodle soup at very reasonable prices.

On The Hook
2445 E Imperial Hwy STE M, Brea, CA 92821, United States
On the Hook is an absolute gem for seafood enthusiasts, and my dining experience here was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, the inviting ambiance set the stage for a culinary journey that left me in awe. Heres a breakdown of the dishes that stood out:1. Live Oysters:Freshness takes center stage with the Live Oysters. Served on a bed of ice, each oyster was a pristine taste of the sea. The briny burst and creamy texture were unparalleled, leaving me craving for more.2. Clam Chowder:The Clam Chowder was a bowl of pure comfort. Rich, creamy, and generously loaded with clams and potatoes, it was a hearty delight that warmed my soul. The flavours were perfectly balanced, making it an instant favourite.3. Garlic & Cheese Flat Bread:The Garlic & Cheese Flat Bread was a wonderful starter. The crispy yet fluffy bread, generously topped with garlic and gooey cheese, was a perfect prelude to the seafood feast that followed.4. Fish and Chips:The Fish and Chips were a true testament to On the Hooks commitment to quality. The batter was light and crispy, revealing perfectly cooked, flaky fish inside. Paired with golden fries, it was a classic done to perfection.5. Jambalaya:The Jambalaya was a flavour explosion! The blend of spices, perfectly cooked rice, and an abundance of shrimp and sausage created a dish that transported me straight to the heart of Louisiana. A must-try for those who enjoy a bit of heat.6. Seafood Boil with Corn, Shrimp, Crawfish:The Seafood Boil was a spectacle of flavors. The medley of corn, shrimp, and crawfish soaked in the house blend of spices created a party in my mouth. Messy, delicious, and absolutely worth every finger-licking moment.7. Thai Iced Tea:The Thai Iced Tea was a refreshing companion to the bold flavours of the seafood. Its sweetness and hint of spices provided the perfect contrast, leaving my palate cleansed and ready for the next bite.8. Cold Vietnamese Coffee:To cap off the meal, the Cold Vietnamese Coffee was a revelation. Smooth, strong, and sweetened just right, it was a delightful conclusion to an unforgettable dining experience. In addition to the outstanding cuisine, the service was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about ensuring each guest had a memorable time. On the Hook has undoubtedly secured a spot as my go-to seafood and grill restaurant. I cant wait to return for another culinary adventure!

Otus Thai Kitchen & Coffee
1253 N La Brea Ave, West Hollywood, CA 90038, United States
Came to Otus on a friends recommendation and really enjoyed it! We had a huge party (11) and Otus was able to accommodate us without any issues though we may have been a little overwhelming to start the morning...I began with a pink latte which is a latte made with Thai sala syrup. The flavor profile is similar to strawberry milk but a little more floral. A couple friends went with bottomless mimosas but remarked that it wasnt too special. For appetizers we shared the roti and Ms Dangs crispy fried rice. Both were honestly delicious! The roti was prepared like a banana fosters french toast with roti substituting the toast. It was crispy, buttery, and similar to fried bananas! As for the crispy rice, it was done very well! Ive had versions that were way too dry and crispy or too tangy from vinegar and fermented pork but this hit all the right notes and the crunchy bites from the leaves of romaine paired perfectly! For my main, I went with the Moo Ping and OMG the pork skewers were TO DIE FOR! They were marinated and grilled to perfection! The accompanying vinegar dip was a little bit too acidic for me though. I really liked the accompaniments of papaya salad and sticky rice. Both paired perfectly with the super savory pork! I also liked using the remaining dressing off the papaya salad to dip and accompany the rice as it wasnt nearly as strong as the vinegar.I tried bites from my friends dishes and some really hit! The happy chicken was a must order but the happy ribs is a miss. The chicken was so crispy yet so juicy but the ribs were clearly over fried and so dry. The kai kata is unique! Getting a bite with the baguette, ground pork, Chinese sausage and creamy egg is really something to experience at least once!Among the rest of my friends (aka the other side of the table), reviews were mixed. Both friends that ordered the shitake chicken rice bowl mentioned that it was a little bland but the one that ordered khao kai jiew gave it a thumbs up. There were also two thumbs up for the the its a joke jook. By far the worst menu blunder though was the tofu street noodles. My friend said that there was zero flavor. He tried to fix it with a lot of sambal and then soy sauce but it wasnt until we ordered some peanut sauce ($3) that he finally enjoyed his meal. Our entire meal with gratuity came to about $370. Id say its safe to plan that your meal will average about $25 with drinks.
