5i Indochine Cuisine

BEST VIETNAMESE TAKEOUT FOOD IVE FOUND IN LOS ANGELESI consider myself an aficionado of Vietnamese food having eaten it in dozens of LA and Washington DC restaurants, as well as in Vietnam and France. I ordered from 5i Pho on the basis of the menu and the fact they delivered to Playa del Rey, before I saw the mixed nature of the reviews, and all I can say is that on the basis of the Rare Steak Pho, the Shrimp Spring Rolls, and the Tokyo Fried Rice, my delivery meal was an absolute winner. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared, the steak was of a quality that could have been used for steak tartar, and the pho broth was terrific! Also, everything was delivered hot and the portions were generous. Please keep doing what youre doing!

This place is an absolute gem!! I had such an amazing experience from the service to their perfectly curated dishes and drinks, their adorable decor and great tunes, I had to come here pretty much every day of my stay! I'm from Canada and am not super familiar with LA, I stumbled on this place my first day here while I was waiting to check in at my place in marina del Rey. I'm so so grateful I did! The first day I came with my suitcases and exhausted from my trip, they let me hang out there for about 4 hours, I had the best coffee pretty much of my life, they were even okay with me repacking my bags and charged my phone for me!The service was so phenomenal I had to come back with my girlfriend when she arrived, and continued to come for my daily coffees. My girl loved it maybe even more than me! I ended up ordering some smoothies, lattes, their sweet potato fries, the drunk cauliflower, and the northern lights pasta, I would rate all of them 12/10 and I will be back for more before I head back! I loved this place so much that I didn't end up even going to that many other places cause I just didn't want to miss out on my daily get from this place! Go here! You will not regret it I promise!!Maya and Joel are lovely humans and I'm sad to be leaving them!
33 Taps Culver City
9739 Culver Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232, United States
Very disappointing first experience at the new 33 Taps in CC. We were frequent visitors to the previous bar (City Tavern), and while disappointed that they had to close, we were excited by the first look at 33 Taps. The menu looked like everything you could want from a bar.Perhaps our mistake was ordering primarily off the HH menu on July 4th, but the food was a massive letdown. We ordered 3 things:- HH Burger - while the meat and cook were OK, we were served a meat patty, with cheese and a little sauce on a bun. No fried onions or pickles as advertised. Quite a boring burger.- HH Banh Mi Fries - these were remarkably bland. When I think of Vietnamese banh mis, I think of loads of fresh flavors, but this was a plate of underwhelming fries, dry bits of chicken (we upgraded from the vegan chicken), a few sad slices of carrot and cucumber, and a bland chili mayo sauce.- Buffalo Wings - decent wings, but far behind the quality of City Tavern (and other places in CC).Im totally fine with order via your phone system, but still find it a little much to have the built-in tip at 20/22.5/25% settings for basically running food and clearing tables (no check ins, conversation, etc.).Im tempted to give 1 or 2 stars, especially after the massive 4th of July disappointment (who doesnt want a good burger on the 4th). But Im willing to give it another try and hope for better.
Jasmine Market & Deli (Restaurant)
4135 Sepulveda Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230, United States
This was the first time that I had eaten Burmese food. The lady working the front counter was very helpful to make sure that I ended up with a fairly authentic meal. I was also pleased to discover a bit of a shopping mart here that included Myanmars local newspaper.I highly recommend the salad made with the pickled tea leaves. It sounds like you have to be adventurous to eat it, but its not spicy or two strangely flavored. It certainly is unique and robust. The fish soup is also unique in its overall flavor. However, be prepared for a little more kick. It has a little bit of a sweet and sour flavor to it as well as the spicy hit of the chile. It comes with some little crispy chips that helped after each bite to reduce the heat.My favorite part of the meal was the Shami Kebabs. My wife felt that it had a flavor similar to samosas from India. I think it had more aromatic flavor to it, probably because it has a lot of beef. The side of slaw that goes with the kabobs is extremely flavorful. In fact, my wife just wants the kebabs with the side slaw the next time I go.Finally, I recommend trying the Falooda. It is a cold drink with hints of strawberry and rose. I have no idea whats really in it, but Im guessing that its yogurt based. It does have little strips of young coconut in the bottom so you have to drink it with a boba straw. My wife felt that it was more of an effective dessert after the meal because she liked the chai with her meal and the Falooda after.Im definitely going to be picking up from here at least once a month until we make our way through the first two pages of the menu.

It is spacious but not a marathon walk, there are plenty of choices which creates competition and drives prices down. Food court has a large variety of restaurants to choose from, from panda express, to sushi bar, Mongolian bbq, Vietnamese, Italian to good old burgers and steak sandwiches.
Ms Chi Cafe
3829 Main St, Culver City, CA 90232, United States
Honestly I believe this restaurant is underrated. Clean dining environment, welcoming servers, tasty food, reasonable price. What can I ask more about a restaurant? I saw some negative reviews saying that the food isn’t authentic such as the duck dish. I mean, it’s never advertised as Peking duck so why would you expect it to taste like Peking duck? They are totally different dishes.I recommend the cheeseburger dumplings (mind blowing) and Vietnamese mocha frappe. Other dishes we ordered taste good too. One thing I thought needs improvement is the black sesame donut. It’s a bit too sweet.
Nong L Vietnamese Cafe
9552 Washington Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232, United States
We ordered the beef pho which was delicious and the beef was tender, but the Bun Bo Hue was really not authentic BBH. The broth was tomato based and not very rich. The meatball was good and tender but there was no blood cake and no pigs feet, both of which let's be honest, are the stars of a good bowl of BBH. I know this is a Westside restaurant but I'm just passing along the feedback that anyone who knows what BBH is is going to want a more authentic version. People who don't know will just order pho, so really, what do you have to lose by trying to make it more authentic? ?
