Vietnamese Sandwiches & Noodles
4084 East Ave, Livermore, CA 94550, United States
Great food at a reasonable price. Family owned with friendly service. Many patrons become friends with the owner and there is a genuine sense of community. The establishment is always sanitized and orderly. They sell the freshest coconuts that Im able to find in the area and I love drinking the water right out of the freshly cut young coconut. The Beef Vermicelli Noodle is one of my staples. The Pho is high quality, authentic and served as a generous portion. The sandwiches are delicious as well. I leave feeling happy with my experience every time.
Viet Noms - Vietnamese Restaurant
1100 E Stanley Blvd, Livermore, CA 94550, United States
As of 2018 this is hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant in Livermore. The food quality is great, both plates and pho/vermicelli. The only negative is their limited menu, I would like to see them add a plate or two over the next few months to provide more options. Vietnoms is not a true hard core traditional Vietnamese restaurant but they will satisfy that need and they cater to the Americanized palet as well.
Saigon Cafe
2011 Second St, Livermore, CA 94550, United States
Update: 10.28.23 Tofu lemongrass rice plate was delicious, except for the rice, which tasted like fish! We are vegan, and while we understand this restaurant prepares all foods in one kitchen, shared utensils should not be used, especially between steamed rice and fish. This has never happened before, and we hope it wont happen again. Otherwise, the rice noodles & veggies in our tofu veggie pho were undercooked quite significantly, so we microwaved the soup in a large bowl until properly cooked when we got home. We have eaten at Saigon Cafe since they opened, but the last few years are more hit & miss wrt quality. We still really like this place & want to support local businesses too...we hope theyll fine tune the kitchen for quality control, but well definitely give them another chance as we want to give the benefit of the doubt this time.Edit 8.18.23 My veggie pho was great, my husbands rice plate with tofu & veggies was quite undercooked. We do like veggies stir fried, but still crisp, but cabbage, broccoli, carrots were still raw, not well heated, so not sure why cook would undercook it like that. Rice was perfectly cooked. Salad on the side was fresh with a large slice of cucumber & we love the ginger dressing. Server was attentive, helpful, & polite. We didnt complain to him about the uncooked veggies, weve been coming to this place since they opened many years ago.Edit 4/19/19: Far too much salt being used, especially in the pho. Theyve always been heavy on salt, but its worse for the past few months to the point that we cant eat here anymore. Requesting easy on the salt results in bland food, no underlying spices or flavor. We all drink water for hours after eating there, hadnt really tuned into this until recently after not having eaten at Saigon Cafe for several weeks. Lowered rating to 3 stars for using so much salt instead of spices.Delicious Viet food, friendly service. Reasonably priced. Quick take out available. Point system to earn free food is quite generous. Good portions. Free street parking.

Well it was nice at the start. My husband, his cousin, and I went inside and we were greeted right away and the kind man sat us down at a booth. The food was okay and service was nice. However after my husband PAID what we ate and walked outside of the restaurant one of the women follows us outside as we walked to our car and asks if they had done something wrong. We all looked at each other confused and then she proceeds to say because we didn't leave a tip is why she asked if they had done something wrong. No one should HAVE to tip, in reality. The worst part was that she followed us outside as if we were crooks who didn't pay for their meals. It all began so nicely before the owner or employee decided to follow us outside because my husband didn't tip. Will not be returning to this place. What horrid education to make customers look as if we hadn't paid what we ate. Terrible

I am Asian so Im very picky about Asian food. I wasnt expecting much because it says its a vietnamese restaurant but they have Thai, Chinese, vietnamese, etc. However, Im very surprised by their food. Their Singapore fired rice noodles, typically a Hong Kong-ese dish, is perfectly spice with curry flavor. Their beef chow fun is not HK style, but very fragrant. Their chilli oil is definitely amazing, kind of like an XO sauce. Im genuinely surprised (in good way) about how tasty their food is. Big portion, fair price too. Definitely will come back.
Rosniyom Thai Street Food

We stopped at this unassuming Thai street food bistro for a sit down meal during a road trip from Nor Cal to So Cal. It was so good we hit up this freeway adjacent spot again on the following trip.We have had the deep fried pumpkin and chicken satay appetizers - which would be enough for a meal together. For mains, weve tried the beef boat noodle soup (similar to Vietnamese phô), the kana moo kra (pork belly and Chinese broccoli), and pad Thai prawns. Every dish was a winner and we want them all again, plus the other chef specials on the menu. They also had excellent thai iced tea and our favorite dessert: mango sticky rice. You can hear the food cooking and smell the authentic spices. However, because its authentic you should ask for light spice if youre sensitive.Ros Ni Yom was so good that we try to time our trips to allow us to visit again. We just wish this place was near our house because it rivals our favorite Thai restaurants from around the bay area. If you live nearby, you have a treasure. Otherwise stop in for lunch or dinner and you wont be disappointed in the flavors.
