Walked in for the first time for a fruit tea which was advertised on the window in front….amazing by the way. The next day came in to try their food. So good. Super tasty. Staff are polite and welcoming. Me and my family eat here once every couple of weeks. Other reviews say the prices are slightly higher than other Vietnamese restaurants in National City but you can’t put a price on the friendliness of the staff. To me that’s priceless. Ritchie and mother Angela are just the nicest pair of hosts I’ve come across in a long time. My go to place for pho…I highly recommend the fruit teas (all flavors)

The best Vietnamese food I have ever tasted. There is seating outside next to the restaurant, the trees makes a great shading from the sun. Pricing is great but the flavor of the food is better!Some of the staff dont know how to speak English but has been always courteous and kind. The owner is hard working and must have a photographic memory because she remembers what we order the last time.(June 2018): If I could pick up this restaurant including the owner and the staff, I would move it to my home state.Next time I come to visit National City this would be the first place Id like to dine at. If you havent been here before, trust me, youll love the place and come here often.Edit (Oct 2019): Came back to National City for a visit and just found out the the original owners moved out to the east coast. Food flavor isnt the same as it was before. So sorry...and I was so looking forward to dinner here.Edit (May 2022): What can I say!? Keep coming back when I am in town! Already said this before and Ill say it again...best Vietnamese food I have ever tasted. Got the beef pho this time. Loved it!

My first time I’m very disappointed 15$Pho combination of 3plbs of half cook noodles barely have meat in it ? do not go to this restaurant y’all this restaurant needs a better cook or shut it down seriously ? you’re just wasting money. This is the worst Vietnamese restaurant I ever been. No wonder it’s always empty and it’s a poor location too. Flavor and everything was horrible I didn’t get what I paid for ? NEVER AGAIN !!!! What a waste ?

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the extremely friendly and hospitable Sam, who prepared an unforgettable meal.Sam took the time to explain to us that Phenomenal specializes in one type of pho, and its a Cambodian-style masterpiece called House Special. We were intrigued by this unique product, we decided to try it out. The House Special Pho is served with ribs and meatballs, creating a delicate blend of flavors and textures that is simply out of this world.Simmered short ribs, beef bone broth, and perfectly marinated meatballs blend together to create a harmonious symphony of flavors that makes our taste buds dance with joy. The photos and videos we took (yes, we couldnt resist immortalizing this moment!) We hope to give you a glimpse of the delicious flavors of this pho.Besides pho, we also ordered spring rolls. Portion sizes are generous and the freshness of the ingredients shines through. We ordered two dishes, but in retrospect, only one would have been enough, as the abundant pho awaited us.The atmosphere of Phenomenon was also a pleasant surprise. They played a video of imported cars with hip-hop music in the background, adding a unique and lively touch to the atmosphere. The volume of the music was perfect, allowing for comfortable conversation without overwhelming the experience.Cleanliness is paramount and Phenomenal excelled in this department. The restaurant and restrooms are maintained extremely cleanly, contributing to an overall pleasant dining environment.What really sets Phenomenal apart is the exceptional service provided by Sam. He checked on us multiple times to make sure our meal was perfect. This place is great! I dont frequent National City that often, but Im really glad I did a bit of research and found this wonderful cafe on Yelp.They have some really delicious drinks that you can customize any way you like. After reading the Yelp reviews, I already knew I wanted to order the Kyoto in Summer drink. This is a matcha strawberry drink. They also have another drink called the Kyoto in Winter, which is matcha with peppermint. The staff are really sweet and helpful.Additionally, Good Moments Tea Bar has wifi, tables, and outlets located throughout the cafe. It makes for a great place to study or chill. They also have a really fun playlist of great throwback songs here! I didnt need to put on earphones, because this is what Id prefer to listen to anyways.As the day went on, this place does get crowded and loud. Come early if youre planning on getting some work done. This place does not disappoint. They have desserts like shaved ice and mango sticky rice, though I didnt try it when I was there. The drinks, dessert, and entire cafe are all instagram-worthy! I love that there are plenty of art work and decor to look at here. The last big plus is that the cafe is located in a private lot shared with other businesses so parking is not an issue.
