Pho Anvi Norwalk
12200 Civic Center Dr Suite F, Norwalk, CA 90650, United States
The restaurant serves the staple pho noodle and Vietnamese cuisine. A consistent menu item thats reliable to comparable pho restaurants. The differentiators are the Chef Special Pho: Pho Anvi (filet mignon w/ginger), Pho Ap Chao (filet mignon, garlic, cabbage, & tomatoes), and the Pho Duoi Bo (ox tail).I got the ox tail and it was worth the dining experience. Its not exactly a Wow! moment but it was very pleasant. I do recommend keeping your condiments light with this meal, i.e. hot sauce, hoisin sauce, et. al. This bowl of pho is best enjoyed with little to no additions, as I found adding the go-to accoutrements had overpowered this simple yet delicious dish. I would reorder this dish again and look forward to trying the other two Chefs Special. The location is great, a food court and at the time of this writing, surrounded by other interesting restaurants such as a ramen shop and a poke bowl specialty restaurant--which are framed by the nearby AMC theater and courthouse. Closest parking is at the rear, that encourages patrons a 45 minute grace period.Inside is a contemporary noodle shop with a great staff and service. The meals do come out quickly.Light broth, light atmosphere, and light in the pocket.
Golden Pho

I am surprised this place has high ratings. Big bowl with a lot of broth but hardly no meat or noodles. If you want an authentic Pho with generous portions please try Golden Noodle in West Covina or Rowland Heights. It is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been too.

Very consistent in terms of quality and service. So glad to have a great Vietnamese restaurant in the Whittier area! You can tell when theres attention to detail both in cleanliness and menu items. Their pho is super amazing, but you should also try their rice vermicelli salads, rolls, rice plates and chicken curry. Highly recommend! Give them a try and youll see why. Saké, wine & beer available.

I attempted to order online today at about 645pm and by 7pm I received a notice my online order was canceled due to the restaurant being out of chicken. I had already arrived at the location when I received the notice and shortly after received a phone call from the restaurant stating they did have chicken but it would take about 25-30mins to cook. I had already waited about 20 mins from the time I ordered to the time I arrived to the restaurant where the order could have been prepared. When I arrived to the front of the restaurant I saw two guys standing behind the register on their phones. Mind you the location doesnt close until 8pm so I didnt understand why there was no chicken prepared. I was told by the gentleman on the phone that they could still make my order but it would now take an extra 25-30 mins for my order two be ready. I respectfully told the person on the phone that I would not be going through with the order.I really enjoy coming here for the food but the customer service in the evening time is always poor. Its like the closer it gets to closing time the less work they want to do. Thats just my personal opinion. Hopefully this can be addressed. A si.ple phone call letting me know about the wait time when the order was placed wouldve been ideal.Maybe the online ordering should not be an option if the guys who work in the evening find it hard to make peoples orders.
Tasty Goody Chinese Fast
15912 Pioneer Blvd, Norwalk, CA 90650, United States
Hungry Fatty goes to Tasty GoodyHappening upon a Valpak advertisement for Tasty Goody, my eyes spied a 3 item combo w/ egg roll for $6.49. Appreciating a good deal when I see one, I made the quick jaunt to Tasty Goody for some lunch.Potato chicken, teriyaki chicken, salt & pepper chicken wings, egg roll & fried rice/chow mein-The potato chicken is chicken with potato wedges & sauce. Sort of like a Chinese poutine, I enjoyed the fluffy on the inside potato wedges and the tender chicken. The teriyaki chicken consisted of a grilled breast cut up in front of me & doused with teriyaki sauce. Without the teriyaki, the breast wouldve been bland on its on. It is a large protein serving, which is always a plus. Generous helpings of fried rice & chow mein wont keep you hungry. The chow mein seemed a little soggy, but I didnt mind too much. The only thing Tasty Goody skimped on were the salt & pepper wings. 1 item = 3 wing sections. I was hoping for at least 5, but alas, only 3. However, they were breaded well, with a little kick & my favorite of all I had.I asked if I could have soup as one of my items, but was told its a la carte only. Besides the already prepared food, Tasty Goody has made to order menu items, as well.In a hurry? Tasty Goody has a drive-thru for those that want to stay in their car. Parking is in a small private lot, with street parking available. A good amount of seating for those that choose to dine in. Service was good, as the ladies were friendly & appreciated my business.Without having high expectations coming in, I found Tasty Goody to be a decent Chinese fast food restaurant. Large servings (besides the salt & pepper wings) for a cheaper price than Panda Express can feed you for multiple meals. Saving a buck or two, but still having a filling meal, is always much appreciated by me and Tasty Goody fits that to a tee.Recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

TERRIBLE SERVICE. We just went, we only ordered a Mocha and a caramel, it took around 20 minutes and they only gave us the mocha, they told us that they were going to prepare the other one, 25 more minutes passed, they attended and served 3 more people, we went to ask them about our caramel and they responded that they were already preparing it, 15 minutes passed, they served another person and nothing for us. We went again and they said Im going to call my manager, the manager came out laughing and just said that he would return your money, the process began and he said that they lost the order and then that they had forgotten it and then that they already had it making pure lies, we just told him to give us the money back. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE.TERRIBLE SERVICE. Asian chicken is the bomb if you order it well done so its crispy! Other menu items are not bad, albiet expensive and plain compared to the many diverse, delicious cusines which promise to reward the palates of the adventurous which lay within close walking distance of the hotel. See front desk for a map of local offerings or Yelp it. At the very least walk to the restaurants next to the theaters where you have Vietnamese, (they make Chinese too!) Japanese (teriyaki bowls etc.) and a Mexican specialty place with smoothies and chicken.
