I have travelled the world extensively for the past 15 years always seeking good food.I recently moved to the USA from Australia and my first quest was to find good Vietnamese and Thai Restaurants.The food at Tamarind is the best of its kind in the world. Everything on the menu is delicious creative and beautifully presented and the service exceptional. I have been twice in 2 weeks and plan to go regularly, it is so good. I really want to like this place. It is so close to where I live and I always love thai, vietnamese, and fusion! But every dish I have ordered has been poor. The pad thai is 95% noodles with barely any sauce. I ordered it twice because I couldnt believe it when every other restaurant pad thai instantly wins my heart. It doesnt have to be fancy, this includes Pei Wei pad thai fast-casual. The kung pao tofu had no spice. The mushroom/vegetarian delight was the best dish. It was really nice and light, very vietnamese! But unfortunately this style feels more satisfying as a side than a meal.I have had much better thai from Twin Falls Idaho and the tiny town of Front Royal Virginia, so I think I can expect a little more from a place in Palo Alto.

The food was all very delicious, and the decor and atmosphere were super pleasant, too. I ordered the Pho Seafood, which was full of all kinds of delicious and fresh fish, and had just enough spice to both have a satisfying kick but not take away from any of the flavor. My mom and I split a Banh Mi combo, and were pleasantly surprised to find the meats perfectly balanced with the sweet and crunchy veggies. The Rancho Special tea was perfectly sweet and had really soft boba pearls, as well, which was great because not many restaurants have good food and boba. My mom enjoyed her vermicelli and combo spring rolls, too! Shout out to our host Billy, who was really kind and friendly and explained everything for us perfectly. Would recommend to anyone looking for good Vietnamese food in Palo Alto! :)

My favorite restaurant downtown palo alto ?♀️?♂️ went with my viet friends and we got complimented for our vietnamese ??the bún chả is a bit too sweet with the fish sauce but the chicken crispy sticky rice has my whole heart. The waiters lowkey forgot our order for 30 minutes so we got a 15% discount instead they’re soo cute.

I’m giving one star for atmosphere today. The music is driving me nuts. Every single song has this finger clicking beat overlay. ? It doesn’t go well with the singing. There’s already a drum machine in the music. It’s too much! It’s really hard to relax! I loved the jazz they used to play here. It was so wonderful. Next time I’ll sit outside if this is playing again. I did not enjoy this meal. ? Another time I was here I asked if they could change the music but they said they have no control over it. ?*******************************************I’m so exited there is a new pho restaurant at the shopping center in Palo Alto at Middlefield and Charleston. The ambience is great. The decor is modern and earthy. Service was very quick. The chicken pho broth is excellent. I liked that the free-range chicken breast meat is sliced very thinly. I was hoping there would be red bean drink on the menu but alas, no. So few Vietnamese restaurant serve this beverage.

We came to the shopping area to spend some hours and occasionally got hungry. Checked for healthy and not overpriced food in the area and discovered this place. We came to the place and could directly order as it was not crowded. We ordered two Argentinian salad bowls - one with lax and one with steak - and dined in. We paid somewhat above 30 usd. We took a place outside. The food arrived very fast.The food was very tasty and fresh. The portion could be a bit bigger but generally it was enough. I liked the combination of rice and quinoa, I found it unusual and very tasty.A pleasant surprise is that the food is served on real plates and with real silverware, which is such a relief after all the plastic and paper that you get in other places.The design of the place is very nice both inside and outside: the combination of bright colors makes you feel happy, while wooden elements add some natural touch. I liked their vases with succulents placed in the exterior, it made the place look cosy.I could definitely recommend this place.
