Ph Tn Ha Vietnamese & Chinese Cuisine
431 Jones St, San Francisco, CA 94102, United States
Good Vietnamese restaurant, decor and atmosphere are fantastically 80s kitsch. Pho tastes nice but could use some more vegetables, I think. Nice to have had some drip coffee again. Would come again.

Ben Tre Restaurant
398 Grand Ave, South San Francisco, CA 94080, United States
My partner & I were craving Vietnamese food a few days ago and decided to try this place for an early dinner. Ben Tre is authentic, from the family who owns and operates it to the food that is served there. My partner is first generation Vietnamese and values a truly authentic dining experience. But our overall experience was mixed, with both highlights and lowlights. We ordered #12 Muc Chien Don (Crispy Salted Pepper Calamari), #29 Bun Rieu (Tomato Crab & Pork Vermicelli Soup), and #64 Bo Luc Lac (Shaking Beef).Though we had ordered the calamari as an appetizer, it was the Bon Rieu that came out first, and quickly. When asked if we should still expect the calamari appetizer, the waiter said yes. You could tell he had been asked that question many times before as he went on to explain that soups like Bun Rieu were prepared ahead of time and come out faster. The disappointing dishes: My partner had ordered the Bun Rieu, one of his favorite dishes, because it received so many compliments in online reviews. He said that it was ok, but lacked flavor. And the lowlight among the dishes was the calamari. Rather than being crispy as the menu described, these were very lightly-battered longer strips of rubbery calamari served on a thin bed of what looked like chopped iceberg lettuce with salted, peppered, and very lightly sauteed green bell peppers, onions, and julienne carrots. And this $13.50 appetizer was served with no sauce. At the end of the meal the waiter noticed that we had hardly touched the calamari, and he seemed surprised when we declined the offer to box it up for us.The clear highlight of the meal was the shaking beef, starring as described very tender cubes of filet mignon sauteed with garlic, bell pepper, and onion, served with the garlic noodle option, and all topped with cilantro. I have ordered Bo Luc Lac at nearly a dozen restaurants over the years, and this was one of my favorites. I was glad the portion was family sized because the leftovers also ate well the next day.

Golden King Restaurant
757 Clay St, San Francisco, CA 94108, United States
#1 Vietnamese restaurant in San Francisco. We ordered Bun Bo Hue and Bun Thit Nuong, which was delicious. We were so satisfied with the Bun Bo Hue, it is an authentic Vietnamese flavour. We tried so many Vietnamese restaurants in SFO but turned out so disappointed. However, Golden King is a lifesaver.

Lys Vietnamese Cuisine in San Francisco is a true gem that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure every need was met, from recommending dishes to promptly refilling our drinks. Now, lets talk about the menu - absolutely divine! The 5 spice chicken was a flavor explosion, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The beef satay pho was a comforting bowl of goodness, with tender beef slices and aromatic broth that warmed the soul. And the potstickers were crispy on the outside, yet bursting with savory filling on the inside, leaving us craving for more.As for the ambiance, it was simply enchanting. The cozy yet elegant décor created a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Soft lighting and tasteful decorations added to the charm of the restaurant, making it the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.Overall, Lys Vietnamese Cuisine is a must-visit for anyone craving exceptional Vietnamese food served with unparalleled service and in a delightful ambiance. Unusual for Vietnamese restaurant, but theyre appeasing to the dense Chinese population in SFATMOSPHERE:Regular pho but with bigger round tables to accomodate large parties, perfect for our office team lunches

Bac Lieu Restaurant
3216 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94110, United States
I’ve never been inside a restaurant with staff that is as rude as them. I will never go back, not even if I was paid to eat there. There are better recommendations for Vietnamese restaurant such as Kevin’s noodle house, and others in sunset and Richmond. I will never go back there to see those rude employees. If they’re so rude to you in front of your face, imagine what they do to the food behind your back. Failed establishment.

Sunflower Garden Authentic Vietnamese Food
1368 9th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94122, United States
I wasnt excited about this place looked unauthentic but my partner wanted to check it out anyways. Its the only Asian option on Potrero hill and the menu is a mix of generic Canto style cuisine and Vietnamese food. The appetizers were really good, they had one of the best crispy Vietnamese egg rolls and the salt pepper chicken was tasty. However dont order their pho or chicken rice plate. The pho was disgusting the worst bowl ever. it was straight up plain luke warm can of chicken broth and some strips of beef steak. The chicken plate came over cooked and they gave us cold water to our rice paper. Oh they gave me a bag of pho toppings but plated everything else lol. The waitress wasnt attentive and kinda rude. Not entirely her fault as shes the only one on staff, unfortunately. Overall not great wont be back.

Pho Recipe Vietnamese Noodle House
2511 Noriega St, San Francisco, CA 94122, United States
My mom and I both tried #10, which was the rare and well done meat (FYI, this restaurant does not make authentic Vietnamese styles). Waiting time was quick and customer service is decent. However, the food was not on the good side. The meat was slightly more harder than other places with the well done part and tasted ok.It served fresh noodles (another type of noodle). The main problem was the broth... we both agreed that it was too salty! I don’t know why they put so much salt, but we could not finish and enjoy it. I do not recommend this restaurant for its pho, but maybe other foods as I have not tried the others yet.

An Chi Vietnamese Cuisine
4683 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94112, United States
This was my go to place for good Pho and sandwiches. As for today my partner and myself were very unhappy with our treatment at the An Chi Vietnamese Cuisine Restaurant. We came in and got good seats in the front middle part of the restaurant  and placed our orders. We were drinking some tea whyll waiting for our meals. This guy with his two little kids walks into the restaurant was looking around.. He was going to sit at the table next to us but didnt. He was looking at me and my partner then went to the waitress, then waitress came over to me and my partner asking us to move to the bigger table in the back of the restaurant because the guy with the two kids didnt want to sit in the back he wants to use our table and the table next to ours. My partner said No as we were already sitting there for 15 minutes waiting for our food, plus the table where they wanted us to move to was a bigger table not comfortable for only two people. I dont understand why the guy with the two kids didnt take that table and why he was pushing for ours and why the hell was the waitress going along with it? The second waitress was coming with our food, she was ready to place our food on the table, just then the waitress that told us to move our sits was pointing to the other waitress to take our food to the back table. We didnt feel happy with the way they were treating us so we got up and left. We have been good customers here from day one when they opened this restaurant and dont appreciate this treatment, to be told to move our seats as someone else is more important and deserving. Does this have something to do with us being Latino? The way they treated us today made use lose our appetite and feel bad.

Que Huong Vietnamese Deli
2138 Irving St, San Francisco, CA 94122, United States
The male owner is very rude. He literally yelled at me when I tried to pay for my breakfast takeout with $20.02 for a total of $19.92. He threw back my 2 cents and gave me 8 cents in return. He could have politely explained to me that his business doesnt take pennies, but he chose a very rude and stupid approach to treat his customers. I have never encountered such a rude owner before and will never come to this restaurant again. There are many other good Vietnamese restaurants in the Sunset district.
