+ Wonderful selection of pastries and beverages+ The butter croissant was delicious -- flaky, buttery layers, and fluffy in the center. Highly recommend!+ The cheese & chive scone was also really good -- full of onion and cheese flavor. The scone had a nice crust but I felt like it was a little moist for a scone IMO. Regardless, still a winner in my book!+ Very cute coffee shop with big windows, a decent amount of seating (some are very awkward and uncomfortable) and cute decor.+ Horrible and very slow wifi. If youre trying to get any real work that requires a stable connection, youll loose your f*cking mind here. Its impossible to load a web page, and forget about uploading even a small attachment to an email. After about 2 hours of trying to make it work, we had to leave to another cafe.+ Not many easily accessible outlets for charging devices. The only one we could find was right by the entrance door and against the wallpapered wall. Those stools are extremely uncomfortable and its not an easy place to work sitting in an awkward position.+ The place gets pretty crowded with people of all ages. You have students, remote workers, and people meeting up for afternoon pick me up. Its a very lively but chill ambiance.+ Personally, I feel like a lot of the space is wasted on retail. There is a whole section in the middle of the cafe thats just occupied with little nick knacks for sale. Its like a mini Urban Outfitters in the middle of the cafe that feels really unnecessary.+ They have one single stall restroom for customers. Its dark but very clean! I love me a clean restroom :)+ Service is very friendly and laid back.

Came here with a party of three for lunch when we were in town. It was just over twenty dollars for two meals and a soup á la carte. Very affordable!Pesto & Sun-dried Tomato Chicken SandwichI had this and I loved it. It was filling, but not in the Monty Python/Mr. Creosote way. Served on house-made focaccia bread, which was very tender and toothsome. It gave the sandwich a great chew. The sun-dried tomatoes were mild, but they added tartness and tang to a sandwich which would otherwise be overwhelmed by the garlic and basil in the pesto. Plenty of chicken and cheese on the sandwich. It came with a house salad, dressed in oil and balsamic vinegar over fresh greens. It was an incredibly healthy meal, all things considered. I would usually reserve this level of enjoyment for things that are conspicuously dire for my constitution and waistline, like cinnamon rolls or ice cream sundaes.Miso Salmon SaladThis was everyone's favorite. My wife described it as ‘bright,' like a shining star or precocious child. I think she meant it was glorious and radiant, like an angel. The dressing was delicious, so good that after she had poured it in the salad, I used my sandwich to scoop the remnants out of the plastic cup it came in. My wife loved the bits of mango and the amount of salmon. She and her mom were huge fans of the edamame, though she preferred the Armenian cucumber for the crunch. Overall, an excellent summer salad.Cafe SaladMy mother-in-law has this, though she was hesitant about the goat cheese. We usually go in for Gorgonzola or another stinky cheese. Compared to these, the goat cheese was very mild. She picked out the pear, but I thought it was tolerably good with the balsamic vinaigrette. (I let nothing go to waste!) There were loads of pecans and slices of avocado. She did say that the dressing was very tangy, so she recommended starting with half dressing, as it could be off-puttingly pungent, especially if on a first date.Sausage and Kale SoupI ordered a cup of soup because I was hungry and I tend to overdo it when in this state. I enjoyed the soup, which was savory with nice peppery bite. It was lovely with the bread and reminded me most of the zuppa tuscana soup at Olive Garden.Overall, I lovely place for lunch and we definitely recommend the summer menu!
BAHT

Local Take: Wow...great Homestyle Thai food in a food court in SLO-town...along with fresh reasonably priced eats! Who would have predicted this? Not me. While there are tons of Thai places in SLO County, it is really hard to find homestyle food...and the only one that this place rivals is a tiny Templeton Farmers Market vendor who also crafts homemade eats.Baht not only is homestyle but puts modern twists on both food prep. & the menu itself. My Thai Curry came out simply dreamy, along with a puffed egg on top [which was new to me].The Curry has a long name, which was Pinto Box Pork Shoulder Jungle Curry. It was a perplexing name, but after a few tentative nibbles, I just engulfed it like the old Blob movie...in which a relative played the staring role decades ago...JK.I initially wanted the soup, but they were out, and Pad Thai sounded a bit too pedestrian...so PBPSJC was it.Bahts curry was just the right balance of spicey, savory, & complexity. They also had the right amount of Jasmine Rice with the fresh food. The curry was so yummy that I did not even take one pic of it!In the kitchen itself, they had some ultramodern rotating Wok-like drums that they quick cooked their wonderful eats. Super cool & super yummy.Since I am obviously enamored with these set of vendors in the SLO Public Market, I had to return in just two days to have more.On this visit, I wanted to try more Bahts Thai food & this time I had the pleasure to meet the owner, Tanya. She was wonderful & very helpful with food selection & cooking methods. This time I decided to try the Thai Soup, the Fried Shrimp & Eggrolls.Again, I wolfed it all down, but this time I did take pictures. Both fried items came with different sauces. The Shrimp were beyond stellar & are among the very best shrimp I have had in years. The Thai soup had a clever two compartment take out dish, which keep everything from getting waterlogged.I only stepped away a few feet from Baht to consume my delicacies in the Market Common area. The soup was really savory & not too spicey. It had a good balance of the ingredients and did remind me of some Vietnamese soups.I am so please with Baht & the surrounding vendors since they are all very tempting and various ones are open from 3 to even 7 days a week, until about 7-8 PM. Many open around 10-12 AM as well. These places are ideal for locals who crave gourmet dishes for lunch or dinner in a relaxed casual atmosphere. As for my favorite overall vendor, I would have to say Baht, since I just adore great Thai food. Of course, I also eat almost everything else in the food court, and can have a multi course international meal either here or for take out.I am not aware of anything like this place in all of SLO County and we have eagerly awaited these fine food vendors in SLO Public Market. I really wish them all success. It kind of reminds me of some of the food court ideas on the Embarcadero in SF....but this is far far closer to home...just a few miles & a few minutes away for me!I have likely tried almost every Thai place in this county & this is the top choice in my book. While so far, they have a few choices, those are stellar ones at that....and just happen to be what I would get anyway in other places. In many ways this is superior to other Thai places, since it is fast, fresh, causal, and fantastic. You can also combine a Thai dish with an appetizer from another country via another vendor or even cool off your palate with some Buffalo Ice cream from Perfect Scoop around the corner. Bottlecraft can provide one with all kinds of beverages to go with all your choices. Since CCC or Torritelli is right across, you can also get some great Italian eats to either make at home or reheat.Regardless of what else one gets here, I think Bahts Curry stands out as the best of the best here. Thanks Tanya for opening this wonderful place !

You can have Thai, Laotian, and Vietnamese foods here. I ordered fried rice with pork and my husband ordered a beef salad and a side order of roasted pork. The rice should have been “fried” a bit more, the pork in fried rice was chewy, and the flavor was a bit sweet for my taste. The beef salad was good and the roasted pork was very crispy.Service was good! The restaurant is located inside a mall. Very comfortable ambience.

I really wanted to like this place a lot more than I did. I was so excited to get breakfast here based on everything Id seen, but the experience overall was a bit of a let down. The service was pretty slow (just while we were there several people came back up to the counter to ask about their food). I didnt mind too much personally, but it was definitely probably double the time Id have expected it to be.The drinks were sub par (chai latte and, if I remember correctly, mocha latte). The coffee was much better than the tea, but Id have been happier getting drinks elsewhere. The food looked really good, and maybe deserves something closer to a 4/5, but honestly my breakfast sandwich was good but nothing particularly special. My wifes avocado toast was good as well, but it had a slice of sourdough so thick that it actually made it pretty hard to eat (the single slice was the thickness of two healthy slices of bread). To be clear, its not that the food was bad. It was pretty tasty and filling aside from a few missteps, but the value just wasnt there. We had a much better breakfast for a little less money a 30 second walk away the previous day.Our experience could be an outlier, and I hope it was, but unfortunately I cant say I would make a return visit given the opportunity.

This small hidden mall appeals more to the Cal-Poly U crowd (students & staff), but it also can appeal to others. The main anchor store, which is a Lassens Market (an upscale gourmet/ health food market), boasts a good healthy hot/cold bar. There are a range of other stores here as well. These range from a Credit Union, to fast food, to a bar/restaurant, to a coffee shop, to a gym, to a Rite Aid, and more. All in all, a good pit-stop for those who work in the area, or are passing by on Hwy # 1....there is nothing like this on the 1 for the next few hundred miles...until you get to Carmel!!!The Breakdown:@Bites= the best & only Vietnamese eats in town.Milestone= an upscale Bar with amazing Burgers & Pizza.Lassens= it makes Whole Paycheck look cheap, by has a great Hot bar.Rite Aid= A nice newer store.Nail shopBlaze= fast Pizza.Scouts Coffee= standard coffee house.Barbershop or SupercutsTwo gymsFast PokeFast Fried ChickenFast MexicanCredit UnionFast Mexican food
