Portion size is small for the price. Not very much chicken in my sandwich and is about the same size of my Samsung s8 smart phone, which is just under 6 inches. Kind of disappointing. Sandwich was about $8. Very light and had almost no weight at all. Will not repeat business. My local vietnamese restaurant sells a 12 bahn mi (sandwich) for $6.50. Picture #3 for example.
The Slanted Door San Ramon
6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd Suite 1300, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
Overall, this restaurant is fantastic. I never went to the SF Slanted Door so to have it in San Ramon is convenient and nice. However, first things first: theres no clear sign for this restaurant! Of course, its rather easy to find since its the biggest and busiest restaurant at City Center but as far as I could see, there wasnt even a small sign indicating that this restaurant was the Slanted Door. But personally, I dont hold that against them, assuming that they want to keep some minimalist aesthetic. The interior of the restaurant, as one could probably tell from the outside, is very spacious. I went there with a friend for dinner and it was POPPING. Since it was Friday evening (at prime time dinner time), it was rather loud, but not noisy per se. We got bar seats which made it easier to have a conversation in spite of the high volume level in the restaurant. As to the food: this is the main reason why this restaurant is fantastic. I really wouldnt recommend this place for family dinners; more for dates and such. We ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer (from what I remember, there were 2 kinds of spring rolls but I dont remember specifically what we ordered; we got the non-vegetarian one). The sauce for the spring rolls really made it. For the entree, we got the most appealing thing: the wagyu steak ($46). Was it worth the price? YES. Thats a rather subjective YES but like I said, this place is for dates and a wagyu steak around here is something worth $46 to me. Dont know if the steak if dry-aged but nevertheless, it had a deep umami unlike most other steaks one eats. It comes with grilled spring onions and shitake mushrooms which are a great touch to the steak. One thing that the servers will tell you if you eat here for the first time is that everything on the menu is for sharing. Its not necessarily tapas-style or tapas-sized but its that general idea. Theres no mashed potatoes or extra vegetables that comes with your order. What you see is what you get on the menu. As to the menu, its rather compact, which I appreciate.Come to expect to spend almost $100, if not more, for two, if you want to be satisfied. Which is another reason why you shouldnt bring the kids here, especially pubescent ones who eat incessantly. Nevertheless, quality of the food and general dining experience was great and though I have certain reservations regarding the aesthetic appeal of the City Center architecture in general, Slanted Door San Ramon is probably one of the greater restaurants in quaint San Ramon!
Pho Hoa Jazen Tea (San Ramon)

Poor poor service and food was missing items with zero flavor. Bathroom has no soap or paper towels. No one comes to check on you ever even after theres a problem. We used to come here all the time and usually the food is good. The service is usually poor even though the people that work here are really nice they just arent trained properly. They stand around even when the place is empty. You have to get up if you want a refill on your water. I waited 10 minutes and no one ever came by. They made our order wrong never checked on it afterward, I complained something was missing so I was brought soy sauce as a solution. I complained again because something was really off. One of the waiters realized there was no mayonnaise on my sandwich. After the cook brought it out the second time no one ever came back to the table to check. It still had no flavor but I wasnt going to complain a second time. No one comes by to see if you need anything ever. The only time they come over is to take your order, bring your drinks, and the cook comes out and drops off your food. Again really nice people that work here but they lack training. After I got home I realized more stuff was missing from my Sandwich. Both mine and my husbands orders were made wrong both the first and second times. Very disappointing.

I came here because the reviews implied good customer service, and that the food was good of course. So I came in, the place was empty, not a smile nor any type of greeting from the two staff who were there ( a middle-aged man and an elderly man) but I wasn't bothered. I ordered my food to go and requested egg noddles not rice, paid my bill, but while waiting for my food I realized I might have been overcharged. When my food had arrived, I asked the guy what the tax in San Ramon was, he said 8.25 then I said nicely (with a smile) that my bill seemed too high. He showed me the receipt, pointed his finger on the tax then I noticed that there was an extra $5 charge. I politely asked what the charge was for then he abruptly answered “You ordered egg rolls”. I again answered politely and said ”No, I did not order egg rolls”, but the guy insisted that I did. The elderly man also insisted that I ordered the egg rolls and as annoyed as I was, I still responded politely specially because the elderly man had helped prepare my food. At this point I just said “I did not order the egg rolls but it's ok”. I took the bag then the guy said that he can remove it. The whole situation of insisting rudely that I had ordered something I did not just made me want to leave the place so I said “It's ok, we can enjoy some egg rolls tonight”. Driving home I thought to myself these egg rolls better be good. I got home, took a bite of an egg roll and it was a bit soggy. The wrapper inside wasn't completely cooked either. My sister also gave me that look of disaproval upon having a bite of it. I started serving the soup and I found rice noodles, not egg noodles that I had requested. All these errors and misunderstandings would have been fine, if only they had handled the situation gracefully. I was excited about getting food to go tonight looking forward for a relaxing night. Instead, I left the place feeling tricked and unfairly treated.

Arrived at noon on a Saturday, several tables already occupied with parties of 6-8. Lots of celebrating in the first week of January, which was really nice to see. I was immediately seated at the back of the restaurant for a party of one with no reservations. The restaurant quickly filled up thereafter. However, not all tables were reserved.Food was good, and service & hospitality were excellent. First impression, if you are familiar with the Son & Garden located throughout the Bay Area (or their sister restaurants, Daughter Thai, Farmhouse Thai, etc.), decor-wise, this is a knockoff from them. Son & Garden does a far better job in interior design and florals... Im referencing quality, colors, lighting, details and overall design placement. One House Bistro is pretty too with gilded accents, ceiling lined with freeways of florals and multiple crystal chandeliers. It feels over the top French.I ordered the Ginger Fizz Mocktail at $8. Not worth it for the price. It was basically a extra gingery beer soda.As an appetizer, I had the Tuna Tower at $18. Beautiful presentation, but it was a little overpowered with the mangoes, therefore came across extra sweet. It was served with very thin wafer-like shrimp chips. Each time I put a little spoonful of the tuna mixture onto the chip, it would break and make it messy to eat.For my entree, it was served five minutes after the appetizer. Service was quick, which was great for me, but good to note if you like your dishes timed out. I had the Tom Yum Spaghetti with prawns at $22, which was recommended by my server. It was delicious! The plump and juicy prawns were cooked perfectly swimming in a Tom Yum cream sauce with mushrooms and spaghetti noodles. It was rich and decadent, and I couldnt finish the bowl, so ended up taking half of it home.Total bill = $48 w/o tipMocktail, App, EntreeDo dress warm if you come to this restaurant, cuz it runs on the cold side. I recognize I was dining in early January and thought perhaps maybe its just me... I looked up, and everyone still had their jackets and/or scarves on!Overall, would I come back? Yes, I would give it another try. Im curious about their other apps and spaghetti entrees. Is this a regular occasion restaurant? Probably not. The food is pretty good, and as I mentioned before, the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend it for a girly luncheon, baby shower, etc.
Sunrise Bagel Cafe
2005 Crow Canyon Pl #132, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
I'm a first time and last time customer of Sunrise Bagel. I was in search of a good cup of coffee for the ride and was planning to hit the competition a few doors down until I saw the bagel sign. We're fortunate that our bagel shops in the area all have pretty good coffee. So it seemed a no brainer. I purchased a cup of French roast and a raisin bagel. The bagel was fresh but not much better than our local supermarkets. What prompts me to write this review is the coffee. It was so watered down it tasted like they made a second or third pot on the same grounds. I had to dump the content. Perhaps this was a mistake and not representative of their every day offering. But as they say, “once burnt, twice shy” Most give them 5 stars so maybe i caught them on an off day.
Noshery Food Hall

A bit disappointed in the food and the prices. Food -Oren's -hummus chicken was very bland. Not sure what was missing from the hummus but it really had little flavor. The chicken was ok but pretty skimpy portion. With pitas it was $16. Plus tax. The beef/lamb kabob with 2 sides (rice was not a good flavor even with turmeric in it and the beets salad was diced beets with less flavor than any jar of beets from a grocery store.) The meat was 3 meatballs about golf ball size, came with pita. $25. Plus tax. The Tofu Eggplant salad from Asian Box was less than stellar with some fried tofu strips that were a bit greasy and so little eggplant that we thought it was missing until we found 2pieces about the size of mandarin orange segments. The rest of the bowl was mixed lettuces and they were fresh. But my companion ate all of it and walked away still hungry as it was barely what I would refer to as a meal salad. $12. Plus tax. We had a table outside and food was delivered to us on a tray, it was packaged like to go and all the sauces, cutlery etc were included. For those prices we expected a bit more food and from reviews of other locations, a lot more “oomph” in the food. I realize they just opened a week or so before but expected a much better experience. Unlikely to return mostly because the price certainly did not match the very average food. There are much better choices to spend $68 (incl tax and 18% tip) for 3 people for lunch. Disappointing because I like to support small, local restaurants.
