Pho Mai Vietnamese Gourmet
26487 Ynez Rd, Temecula, CA 92591, United States
We are on a quest to find good Pho in Temecula. This is our 5th Vietnamese restaurant we have visited since landing in Temecula. Pho Mai is decent for the area. I hate to admit it but our worst Pho experience in the Bay Area is better than the best we have experienced in Temecula. The Pho was just ok, says my wife. I went with the wings and they lacked flavor and size. Hell, the 6 pigeon wings cost $10. The spring rolls were ok but the peanut sauce needed help. If we visited Pho Mai in Northern California it would only get 3 stars but in Temecula it deserves 4 stars. Our quest for good Vietnamese food continues.

I got the Pho to go. They dont have Thai Hot Pot to go, so I opted for the Pho. I generally get it at a Vietnamese restaurant. But, this restaurant is close to my home so I thought I would try it out. It was lacking. No Thai basil, no jalapeños, no lime. What?! Those are key ingredients for flavor. Is it because it was a Thai restaurant instead of Vietnamese? I dont know. But, Im gonna stick with the Vietnamese restaurant across town.
Pho Ha
27536 Ynez Rd, Temecula, CA 92591, United States
This place was very disappointing. Pho Ha is a chain that's been around for decades with one of my favorites in San Jose and Pomona (eat there and you won't be disappointed). By reputation, Pho Ha is very authentic but this particular day it went wrong. Owners of this franchise really need to go back on their service and chef training. It gives the other Pho Ha a bad name.We left Palm Springs to head south and wanted pho. The next closest Pho heading South was Temecula. This was Thanksgiving weekend and combined with CoVId restrictions, this plaza was very dead. Pho Ha had six tables for outdoor dining on their sidewalk. Three on each side, five of them seat 4 and one seated two.The first annoying incident was that we went inside and stood halfway between the door and register due to social distancing. There were others in there and at the time we thought they were customers but they were workers! No uniform so we couldn't tell. Then they didn't acknowledge us! At least say, “we will be right with you”. So we made a comment out loud like do we just stand here? A guy walks passed and said you order at the front then find a seat outside. We thought he was a customer leaving but that guy happened to work here!So we finally placed our order, no apologies from the counter at all. My mother was already seated outside. We got 3 pho's (seafood, dac biet, and rare streak) and banh khot which is Vietnamese savory mini pancake. The seafood pho was not worth serving. One of the imitation crab was still frozen. Which means the fish balls, meat balls, shrimp probably all were frozen prior. The broth tasted weird and at first, I couldn't figure it out. It was like soupy. I got the rare steak and normally I love carbs and would eat noodles and save meat for last. This time the broth and noodles was so disgusting that I just ate the meat. I still couldn't shake that smell and taste from the broth. Later, I figured it out, it's not the broth, it's the noodles that was over cooked and it's like they didn't rinse off the extra starch and just served it like that so it had a funky thick smell to it.My mom and I can't stand to waste food and we thought maybe taking it home and add some spice would be easier to chow down. So we asked for take out containers. My mom had the seafood and ended up tossing the noodles and keeping the seafood to make a new meal at home. I had the rare steak and when I took it home to heat up, It was worse so I had to throw it away.On the flip side, they give a lot of noodles. So that take home portion could have been divided up into two meals. The only item that turned out delicious was the banh khot. We thought they forgot about it because it should be an appetizer but it came out after we boxed our pho.Banh khot was freshly made, the batter had to be mixed and fried. It came out crispy on the outside and glutinous chewy in the center with the friend shrimp on top and had tons of flavors when wrapped in lettuce and dipped with fish sauce.I was aiming for 1 star but the banh khot redeemed itself to 2.

Awesome customer service. One of my favorite vietnamese restaurants in Temecula. Try #67 and a thai tea. A perfect combination.

Well definitely be back.Elite Tips: Ask for the cheese corn, get extra Kimchi (HE MAKES IT HIMSELF!), and try the pickles. Ill be buying jars of the Kimchi whenever Im close. The Gochu sauce is unlike any Ive had, too. He doctors it up (Dr. Derick?) to perfection with spice and flavor, not boring like most. Also, chat with him, if hes free. Great stories about his life, cooking and Temecula.

Gaspars Restaurant
37440 De Portola Rd, Temecula, CA 92592, United States
I heard that a new head chef is there now and the menu has been revamped a bit.Didnt remember seeing the Vietnamese sandwich there before, so decided to try it. Its pretty pricey at $24, but thats typical winery restaurant pricing, I guess.Unfortunately, I cant really recommend that particular item. The amount of pork belly in the sandwich compared to how much one pays for it makes the whole thing not worth it. Also, when the sandwich comes to you, the pork belly is completely covered by just the lettuce. Not a good banh mi experience at all.
Pho Minh
40573 Margarita Rd STE D, Temecula, CA 92591, United States
If you are looking for the best Vietnamese Restaurant in Temecula, look no further. Ate their number ten flank and brisket pho, and it was delicious! The pho was loaded with lots of meat and noodles, as you would expect. The restaurant, although small, was clean and very well managed. Staff was very friendly and professional. The service was good - a little slow during the busy hours. All in all, very impressive quality for a restaurant that opened just a few months ago (November 20th, 2022).
TOAST TEMECULA
31093 Temecula Pkwy d6, Temecula, CA 92592, United States
We went in this morning and had an incredible breakfast. Everything from the greeting at the door to the birthday treat at the end for our friend was incredible. It is obvious they took a long time to put thought into the menu items from the names to the ingredients. We had the Avocado toast, Corned Beef Hash, Chiliquilles, and Lox. I dont remember all of the cool names for each item, unfortunately. I had Paris Breakfast, which is sourced locally from Old Town Spice & Tea Merchants, and my friends had coffee. The Vietnamese coffee looked very interesting and she said it was wonderful. Our server, Tyler, was great! He was informative, friendly, and gave us good tips on what to order. We cant wait to go back. The restaurant will be open daily from 6 am to 3 pm.
