Nice small restaurant with nice atmosphere and people. The food is good and reasonably priced. We ordered the Lotus Leaf #1 appetizer and it’s a great value for $17 where it includes spring rolls, egg rolls, and a papaya salad. When it came to the table, my kids could resist going for the speeding roll immediately.It’s also nice they have an entire vegetarian section. We tried the vegetarian Mongolian beef and it was good. Very flavorful but a little salty. Would be fine over some rice.Definitely plan on coming back. Next time I’ll try their Pho.

Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. My wife ordered their chicken pho and I ordered their grilled pork chop rice plate.The pork chop was grilled nicely and charred just the way I like it. However, a good part of the pork chop was pure fat. The pho was above average. The broth and noodles were nice, but the chicken was a bit on the dry side. I would rate the food 3.5 out of 5.Service was fast and friendly. Prices were reasonable. An overall positive experience.

We ordered online for pickup on 12/19/21 and we were maybe 5 minutes later than the official pickup time. It didnt matter because apparently the order didnt go through anyway in their system.They started to scramble because our order wasnt ready so we told them wed just dine in instead (which is cheaper.) Somehow they had our order but just hadnt made it, as we didnt get menus, but they still brought us the foods we choose eventually.The spring rolls are not gluten free as they have fried crispy bits that I didnt notice until I took a bite. My husband ended up eating them because I have Celiac and cant eat gluten, which would be in the crispy bits.I had brisket pho and I could see that they sprinkled ground pepper over the top, which Ive never seen before. The broth was really mediocre and thats the first time Ive not finished a bowl of pho from a restaurant.I dont think Id recommend this place for pho specifically.

Dont know why I didnt stop at this place sooner! Its located in a residential street a couple of blocks down from the busier commercial area. Its across from Palen martial arts, more or less. The food was great. We liked everything we had. Thought the pineapple rice could have more flavor, but that wasnt a big deal since everything else was so good, including the pink lemonade. Must try the dessert! Service was great. The ladies were very attentive. Adding this place to our restaurant rotation.

Their grilled meat fresh roll here is excellent. They give you generous serving. Their spicy soup BBH is also delicious. Broth was very tasty. I also ordered their egg roll and shrimp vermicelli which was also very tasty. Been coming here a handful times now and food has been consistent. Family owned. Service is excellent. Ambiance decor is very nice and high end. They offer private parking and accommodates about a dozen cars but also plenty of street parking. Highly recommend.

Amazing vegetarian selection! Most restaurants only have one or two vegetarian options, but Lotus Leaf has TWO WHOLE PAGES. The staff is also very nice, but sometimes you have to try hard to get them to notice you.

This my wife and my first time eating here. This is first time dining in since the the state opened up on June 15th. Pros: This is definitely a laid back restaurant. The food is hot, fresh and tasty! We also added the hot jasmine green tea to drink (not pictured) Cons: The customer service can stand some improvement. One person was working up front seating people. My wife and I came in 2nd after someone else was getting take out. Then it got busier so the person was working alone with 3 other parties. Taking a while to follow through with taking our payment after giving us to go boxes, then didnt get us a bag after my wife aske, seems it was tough to multi task for this person. I will still recommend to my friends and family.

Solid 4 stars w plenty of vegan options. We ordered the vegan orange chicken and curry tofu clay pot. I found the curry tofu clay pot little too spicy w slightly bitter finish, the curry was not smooth. Friend had the orange chicken and he said it was ok, I did not try it tho. The food was very reasonably prices and the server was very attentive. We also ordered the Vietnamese ice tea and the restaurant had coconut milk.CC accepted

Tried their Vietnamese sandwich, or banh mi, here and loved it. The bread was crunchy and they added fresh avocado in their veggie, a big big plus. So convenient when we were in a run and want a quick bite. I was looking for something to eat before heading to BART station. The portion was enough to keep me feel full for the day. The restaurant’s atmosphere was quite cozy and nice. It would be a lovely place to come back if I have time next time.

I come here about 4-5 times a month but Im not going to come as often due to the inconsistent service and food. There were two female students (Tara) who were great! They knew customers by name, our orders and how we like the food prepared. The woman made the BEST limeade!!! Now, the students are GONE and the woman only works on Wednesday for the dinner hour. I like consistency in food and service. The limeade now tastes like sour water, the service level is not the same and my orders are inconsistent. I think Ill stay away until the students come back and the women with the smile who makes the BEST LIMEADE comes back full-time. Id feel better about spending $50-$100 each visit., 💯🙄

Perfect mix of good food without the hassle and price of a fancy meal. They have a diverse menu - and don’t just limit it to the predictable few Vietnamese dishes you can find anywhere.The vermicelli bowl sauce isn’t too vinegar-y and the portion sizes are generous! The Beef noodles were rich and fatty and delicious. Highly recommend!

First time here based on the high rating reviewed, we ordered 2 noodles and one spring rolls. During the checkout, we were told the total bill of $38.82 without seeing the bill. My wifes good with the number and asked for a bill, she then apologized for adding $1.5 on the bill.Make sure you ask for the bill, also, this place does not accept credit cards, they gave us some excuses the credit card machine only accepts certain Visa cards.We have tried Chase and BOA without any luck and ended up paying cash. Based on the fake reviews and trying to cheat us on the bill, no one going back this place !!

Best local Vietnamese teriyaki chicken sandwiches at $6.50 a pop. Teriyaki chicken is juicy, bun is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and stuffed with carrots, jalapenos, avocado, tomato, with lettuce & herbs. Staff is friendly & indoor atmosphere is richly decorated. A nice spot for dinner after heading to Wednesday night Downtown farmers market. Vegetarian options are as plentiful & tasty, with a whole page of the menu dedicated to veg-versions of dishes.

I used to eat here 1-2 times a week on my way home from work for years— it was a a wonderful, quiet, relaxing place to unwind, have a glass of wine and a wonderful meal after a hectic day.The waitresses were friendly and attentive, knew what I always ordered, and the service was very quick. But things changed drastically in the beginning of January 2023. Apparently the wonderful women who had worked there for many years all retired and were replaced by very young men who have never worked in a restaurant before and who have no clue about the word “service”. To get a refill on my drink, get extra peanut sauce, get another napkin, etc all have required a visit to the desk to get service. These young guys never made rounds of the tables to see if anyone needed anything else; they should be working in a fast food joint! What a shame as the food is wonderful but it’s all spoiled by the poor service. I have stopped going there and now go the extra block to Soleil in Pelton Plaza. So I give Lotus Leaf 5 stars for the food and 1 star (being generous) for service. So sad.

The first thing you notice when stepping into the restaurant is the aroma. The smell made me feel like I was eating in the bathroom because they definitely use the same cleaning mop for the entire restaurant.I ordered the L2 combination Pho. Their soup base is sweeter and fattier than most other Pho soups Ive had. Additionally, the meat itself was very tough and not very appetizing.I do not think we will be coming back.

I popped in for a quick bite to eat after arriving in the area. I wanted something I could eat while watching a gorgeous sunset and Lotus Leaf deliciously delivered. I ordered the tofu summer rolls and orange chicken from the vegetarian menu. The summer rolls were some of the best I have ever had. The flavor of the tofu was indescribable. The vegetarian orange chicken came in big nuggets with the sauce on the side. The sauce was flavor without being overly sweet or salty, with the right amount of spice. The only downside is that rice does not come with the entree, it has to be ordered separately. While it didnt bother me, it might someone else. Ill definitely be back when in the area.

Hubby and I had dinner with a friend here and we had a good time. We shared crab and shrimp egg rolls, hubby had the ginger salmon and our friend had the grilled beef short ribs. Both those came with pineapple rice and fresh veggies. The pineapple rice really didnt seem to have much pineapple. I had the grilled shrimp vermicelli entree which was very good. A couple of the shrimp hadnt had the shells cut, so I requested a knife. Otherwise, all our dinners were tasty and fresh and the perfect portions. Its 5 minutes from our house, so Im sure well go again. Good prices too.

Ive ordered from here numerous times and every time I convince myself that Ill be satisfied with my food. The truth is, its either a hit or miss here.at least with the vietnamese sandwiches. Ive ordered different days of the week and different times of day, their sandwich goodness is never consistent. Some days the chicken is cold and hard with little flavor to teriyaki sauce. Some days the veggies are scarce in the roll. And just today, i was missing the most important ingredient, avocado!Hopefully a staff member or cook looks at this and improves their sandwiches.

Ive only been here once, but I dont think Im coming back again. Partly cause Im not really a fan of this type of cuisine (Asian in general) and partly cause food was not all that good.The service was fast and the waiter was friendly, but hard to understand at times. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken which was way too sweet in my opinion. The rice was overcooked and the veggies were a bit soggy. My friend had Summer rolls and said that she felt like a cow chewing on such long stems of fresh herbs inside (shed go for Egg Rolls if she comes again). They were good otherwise.We had tea and water to drink, nothing special there, though the tea was a bit pricey (more than $3).All in all, nothing to really rave about. If youre into Asian/Vietnamese cuisine give it a go, but judging by some other reviewers avoid certain foods if you dont want to be disappointed.

This place was surprisingly amazing. We were in those town picking up a car and stumbled upon this restaurant looking for vegetarian. options. The atmosphere was strange and the decoration and artwork was pretty tacky. The servers and staff were very friendly and real. Turns out there whole vegetarian menu is all vegan and it is fu**ing amazing. Curry was sweet and not too spicy, appetizers were great. smoothies and Thai iced tea were great. Amazing food, simply amazing. I visit at least once a week for some chicken pho, my fave. The chicken is cooked tenderly, and its not dry like a lot of other places. The only downside would probably be that a few of the servers are kind of ditzy. They get the wrong order on occasion or forget that I even ordered, lol. But overall its great.

Food is tasty, but the service is awful. Untrained waitstaff ruin the experience - orders within a party are not served at the right time. Good luck getting your water or tea refilled. The food is delicious!!! They have friendly staff and an extensive vegan/vegetarian menu. I frequently order the lemongrass “chicken” or tofu and have fallen in love with broken rice recently. I would say they rival Golden Lotus! It’s hard to find a decent vegan friendly Vietnamese restaurant in San Leandro, so kudos to Lotus Leaf for making it happen.

Truly disappointed after many times coming here this is the third time that I had ordered something and my order came out wrong when I got all the way home towardsSonoma, very upset because i didn’t double check! I couldn’t decide if I want it Thai spicy fried rice or the clay pot fried rice, which are vegetarian dishs. I ended up deciding on doing a clay pot vegetarian dish with no tofu and ended up getting spicy Thai fried rice which was too spicy for my husband and no one in my household would touch wasting my money and call back no response . The food was great. However if I was to order here again it would be to go. They did have amazing vegitarian meat that looks super real and was very delicious. The service was another story. While the staff was friendly, the way our food came out was strange. First I got my drink, then my date got his food. About 10-15 min later I got my food (which is probably more the cooks problem). Then after I got my food, he finally got his drink. No one checked on us the entire time to see if everything was ok. Then we had to wait 20+ min for the check...and this would have been ok of they were busy but we were the only people left at this point. I went up front to ask and the guy rudely said he was getting it, then ran into the back and never came out to give the bill. Then after 10 min my date went and had to ask again for it. It even took a few mins after that. Would probably not sit and eat again but might get a to go cause the food was good despite the service being terrible.

I am in Vietnam Traveling through California and visiting family. Today, my 4 weeks ended in the US. New days to America, I very difficult to eat here and so I was treated by a granddaughter to eat a Vietnamese meal. Lotus leaf is a great find in San Leandro. The quality for the price is unbeatable. It excellent for all, vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores. My favorite appetizer are the Buddha rolls with tofu. The pho is rich and super stuffing. The pork vermicelli is amazing. They have a super generous portions. The wait is never too long and really affordable. Strongly suggest!!

I give only 3 stars because the chairs are fabric and stained with tears. But the food is good for vegetarians like us. The vegetarian section of the menu for us has a good amount to choose from. The lemongrass veggie chicken is very good but a little skimpy on the portion. Spicy thai fried rice is quite good and not too spicy. The vegetarian spicy noodle soup is well worth it. Large bowl is filling and enough for two if youre not too hungry. Our friends eat meat and the claypot is very good as well as the curried rral chicken. The food is a four and about as good a Vietnamese restaurant for meat eaters or vegetarian s, as youll find in east bay. The ambience is nice for a first date and prices are good. We had 8 people 5 adults, three kids with macaron ice cream total with tip just under $100. So sit in a booth its four stars.

The servers are friendly, and the portions are generous.As for the food, while the filet mignon pho may seem tempting, it does not work well with the broth. Fatty meats work better with pho.

Always come here with mom for the pho. Basic pho with filet mingion. Probably not popular with the viets since they dont do the tendons and tripes ect. Has a really wide variety of vegetarian menu. Only tried a few some good and some decent. Before they were so packed and understaffed but now for summer looks like they have just enough. Not super quick but better than before.

I saw this place open up recently and wanted to give it a try. I love pho, so Im always willing to try out a new spot. I dont know the foods from different Vietnamese regions, so cant honestly say, but this didnt seem like traditional pho to me. Flavor-wise, the soup tasted the same, delicious. The noodles werent the thin ones, but the wider medium sized flat rice noodles. The menu is pretty short and there were only 3 pho/noodle options, I believe. I got the combo pho, which was good, but I do wish there was more meat and had tripe included. Overall, the meal was good and Id go back.

I eat here a lot as Ive recently moved nearby and its different from many places I go for pho. First off the salmon spring rolls are pretty darn good. Most places just have tofu or shrimp. They also use a thicker noodle in their pho which i enjoy. Vegetarians rejoice when you come here and want pho. It can be difficult to find truly vegetarian pho. Most places only have chicken and beef broth. This place has actual vegetarian broth, no meat.
