Usually I dont like to write reviews that discredits an establishment, but I am concerned about the health of others.Dont be fooled by any good reviews youve ever heard about this place. This place smells bad, has dirty counters, poor service, one VERY rude worker (heavier set Chinese girl that works at night), forgets to make your order, often makes the wrong drink and some times they dont mix the drink and you inhale all the powder.Took the below from yelp and although it is 2013. This is should be a sign for most that this is not a place to go. Not only because of the poor service and terrible drinks, but for your health.Inspection Performed 03/01/2011Facility Status: FairViolations:Approved thawing methods used, frozen food - OUT OF COMPLIANCEAdequate handwashing facilities supplied & accessi - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MajorFood contact surfaces: clean and sanitized - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MajorNonfood-contact surfaces clean - OUT OF COMPLIANCEAdequate handwashing facilities supplied & accessi - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MinorFood contact surfaces: clean and sanitized - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MinorDemonstration of knowledge; food mgr certificate - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MajorHands clean and properly washed; gloves used prope - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MajorProper hot and cold holding temperatures - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MinorTime as a public health control; procedures & reco - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MajorFollow-Up Inspection Performed 03/14/2011Facility Status: FairOutstanding Violations:Hands clean and properly washed; gloves used prope - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MinorNonfood-contact surfaces clean - OUT OF COMPLIANCEFood contact surfaces: clean and sanitized - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MajorDemonstration of knowledge; food mgr certificate - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MajorWiping cloths: properly used and stored - OUT OF COMPLIANCEAdequate handwashing facilities supplied & accessi - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - MinorFood contact surfaces: clean and sanitized - OUT OF COMPLIANCE - Minor

This place is amazing. Had to drop the car off for an oil change next door at lunch time and immediately followed my curiosity and my nose. I got the 2 bbq skewers and rice (I wish I got the pancit since its the same price!) And ten pieces of lumpia and I. Loved. Every. Bite. This place draws you in with the perfect bbq smell for good reason. I got both chicken and pork skewers (one of each) and the chicken was perfectly smokey, almost dry (but still incredibly tasty) and the pork reminded me of Vietnamese pork chops (but smokier!). HUGE portions for the price! The service is standard for literally any Asian cuisine (direct, to the point, Next! What do you want? Anything else?type-dialogue, dont expect any courtesies, just solid, pragmatic, get-in-get-out-you-arent-here-to-chat service), polite enough to get by, and free water in the corner. They sell other dishes and, not being familiar with any of them, asked what some items were, and they honestly looked delicious. Alas, I will have to come back to try it all. The food is displayed out cafeteria style, but dont be fooled, they will grill the bbq the moment you choose it. This dive is a solid win and a new favorite. Whether or not youre in the neighborhood, give this place a try, its worth the portion, taste and price!!!
Tomo Sushi & Teriyaki
1901 Junipero Serra Blvd # G, Daly City, CA 94014, United States
Delicious food, excellent service, reasonable pricing.Roughly as cost effective as take out. I order a pretty big portion (2 entrees) and my partner orders a lot of sides (typically 4 or 5 and takes some home). After this, two large beers, and refillable iced tea, we were looking at an $80 bill before gratuity. Typically were looking at around $100 before gratuity. The staff there also, very evidently, work together as a team. We didnt have just one waiter/waitress, but instead 3 were assigned to the area which made the wait times between beverage refills (something thats important to me) virtually negligible. I wish more restaurants followed this model. It definitely puts the customer experience first while still efficiently freeing up tables.Take into account as well that the restaurant is next door to the movie theater, and this makes a great night out.
Kukje Supermarket
2350 Junipero Serra Blvd, Daly City, CA 94015, United States
Update:There is now a new competitor named K-Mart which is quite nearby offering better prices in geneal for the same or similar offerings (its a Korean market, I am primarily interested in things which come from Korea). I recommend shoppers to compare their offerings since they are so close to one another (unless you are walking). Most importantly, quality of service has gone extremely downhill at Kukje Supermarket, so I am inclined to go elsewhere when possible.End of Update:Technically not in San Francisco, since it is in Daly City, but as it is easily accessible by public transit from San Francisco, I have decided to include it.While there are other Korean markets in the City (for example, there are a few by Japantown. No, there is no a Koreantown, to my knowledge.), this is one of bigger Korean markets that is reasonably accessible even to those without a car. It offers a large selection of goods, both from Korea and not from Korea. While prices are not always the best (both Korean and Japanese markets, as well as restaurants, are known for providing goods and services from their respective country, not for value), if you browse their weekly ad, sometimes you will find good deals. For example, one time I bought a packet of King Oyster mushroom (300G) for 99 cents, and not only was it organic, it even came from Korea! One of the better places to buy seafood, and the quality has been consistently good (although since not everyone there speaks English well, your questions may not get answered, unfortunately), and, again, some of their sale prices on their seafood are quite competitive.Personally I think the best prices are found in Chinese supermarkets, especially those in Chinatown, but Chinatown can be difficult to park. If you travel by public transit, either option will be great: Chinatown tends to offer better prices but stores tend to be smaller (although their selection isnt necessarily smaller), and Kukje tends to offer some of the same selection at higher prices, but the store is bigger, and, in my opinion, appears to be cleaner.
Noodle Station

This place confuses me a little bit because their presentation is always 10 stars- their dishes, their broths, their outward textures always look and seem solidly amazing. Always. I dont think Ive seen a questionable or bad photo from this place out there! Thats pretty incredible. However, the taste of their noodles and soups just seem lacking or somehow just dont quite hit-the-mark. My laksa house special curry dish for example, was made with a thin rice vermicelli noodle that doesnt absorb sauce/flavor at all, so my experience of this dish involved alternating drinking broth, eating toppings, and consuming dry noodles, none of which can really be considered that appealing when separate from each other. The flavor of the broth was intriguing, with lemongrass and other rich flavors which were interesting but not something Id personally crave.I enjoyed my husbands roast duck with dried egg noodles in XO sauce more, but we both agreed that the specific sauce mix was a bit salty and the flavor of this dish was generally off from our personal preferences. All that said, the price and portion sizes were good, the dishes looked good, and I cant dismiss the possibility that these possibly taste perfect to someone perhaps of a Laotian or other background with a different flavor profile than we have... then again, it could just all come down to one guy experimenting with flavors in the back kitchen, who doesnt have it quite down yet... In any case, their flavors just werent for us, unfortunately, and we wont be coming back.
Kan Kiin Restaurant

Saw this place on our afternoon walk today with our dog. Excitedly saw the menu and decided to come back for dinner few hours later.Loved the interior, decor and menu. Definitely is an upscale Thai-fusion restaurant with SF prices but the food was fantastic. We got:- E-Sarn Chicken Wings: 5/5 so good. Asian style wings. Wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Came with a tamarind dipping sauce that wasn’t too sweet- Papaya Salad: 5/5 deliciously pungent - IYKYK. Loved that they put their own twist on it and added sliced kumquats- Roti / Mussaman Curry w/ Beef Chuck: 4/5 Roti was decadently flaky but a little oily. Paired well with the curry. The beef was very tender. The caramelized shallots were tender and sweet. The curry itself was a bit too sweet when paired with the caramelized shallots and roti though. Still a solid dish- Thai Iced Coffee: 4.5/5 your standard delicious Thai iced coffeeOverall - really excited to have a new, modern restaurant in the area with great food. They’ve only been open a few weeks so are likely still working out the kinks in flavors and service. We’ll definitely come back to try the rest of the menu and would gladly take friends and family here when they visit.Tips: ask for chopsticks (I can’t eat papaya salad with a fork lol), ask for a carafe of water (they have amazing duralex water glasses but they are small and will need to be refilled constantly)
