Solo Hot Pot
958 N Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765, United States
Solo Hot Pot in Diamond Bar is not just a restaurant; its a haven that resonates with the warmth of a home-cooked meal. Located at 958 N Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765, this gem offers a unique Chinese hot pot experience that has won my heart and earned a solid 5 stars. The moment you step into Solo Hot Pot, the atmosphere embraces you with an expansive interior adorned with beautiful Christmas lights. The staff, with their genuine kindness, make you feel like family. As an Asian mom, the sense of hospitality is something I truly appreciate. What sets Solo Hot Pot apart is their innovative approach – you get to build your own hot pot masterpiece. The menu, a delight in itself, allows you to checkmark your choices for starch options like rice or noodles, protein, and an array of toppings. And all this starts at an affordable $13.99, protein included. The drink selection is diverse, featuring ASAHI beer, jasmine green tea, diet coke, and sparkling water – catering to various tastes. Its evident that theyve thought about every detail, making the dining experience truly special. Now, lets talk about the appetizers – a burst of flavors and textures. Fried oysters, fried chicken, and fried squid legs, ranging from $6.99 to $8.99, showcase the chefs culinary prowess. Each bite feels like a culinary hug, reminiscent of home-cooked goodness. The hot pot soups are a symphony of flavors. From organic miso to Sichuan and original dashi, each sip is a journey to the heart of Chinese cuisine. The variety extends to tom yum, green curry, and kimchi-flavored soups. The ability to customize the spice level adds a personal touch to the broth. The protein options, including USDA Choice Angus beef, tofu, lamb shoulder, and shrimp, are of exceptional quality. Choosing six ingredients from a plethora of options, such as baby corn, pumpkin, tofu, napa, and more, is both exciting and satisfying.Starch options are equally diverse – udon, ramen, jasmine white rice, and sweet potato vermicelli. The sauces, a crucial part of any hot pot experience, are delightful. The sesame sauce, with its peanut undertones, paired with ponzu and house spicy sauce (basically chili oil in disguise) elevated the entire meal.Solo Hot Pot took me back to my travels in China, especially the unforgettable Sichuan hot pots. The high quality of food, the enchanting interior, and the affordability make this restaurant a standout choice for any family. I wholeheartedly recommend Solo Hot Pot for an experience that not only satisfies the palate but also warms the heart.

Mandarin Taste
23391 Golden Springs Dr, Diamond Bar, CA 91765, United States
This location is extremely disappointing. I say that in the most sincerest way. Because when you go to this area number one, this is an area that is predominantly owned by Asians and there are many similar restaurants to choose from. Now the location looks 100% authentic. When you go in, its actually nice. Its got a dark ambience to it, but lets get to the food. Im going to say this first if youre Asian and you know, specific items that are on the menu to order. Im sure theyre going to prepare those items fresh. And Im sure that Asians are not gonna be served subpar food. I witnessed this first-hand with an Asian family that ordered something different on the menu. And it came out looking like it was absolutely fresh steaming and hot.We ordered the family dinner. The higher cost option, which was $29.99 per person. And the food was absolutely horrible. You can clearly tell it was not fresh. It had possibly been recooked no less than 2 times. We ordered Sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour pork, sheshwan beef and kung pao chicken. These are super popular standard dishes. That a Chinese restaurant should be preparing at an amazing level. Thats what I would have expected.I am well aware that these entrees are not authentic Chinese food at an authentic Chinese restaurant. I am well aware this is food that was made for the US decades ago. I have been to restaurants like New Garden located in Roland Heights they offer the same type of food, and it is absolutely amazing & fresh! The food was so overcooked because it was not fresh. The chicken, the beef was actually crunchy with in the breading. The breading itself was so hard. From the 2 times or more, its being refried and served..The fried rice was submerged in soy sauce. During the refry process I honestly have never had worse Egg fried rice I dont know how they can mess that up but they did.The sweet-and-sour sauce that they have is literally the consistency of water. Now I dont know if they serve their Asian guest the same sweet-and-sour sauce but if I was Asian I would definitely a 100% not touch that sauce. This restaurant is a sad example for serving very popular Chinese fooddishes. The egg rolls in our appetizers are of the same quality that you would get at a donut shop / chinese Fast food spot.I would not suggest anyone look at this as an option for traditional american chinese food, there are many other places that are serving Quality fresh made to order food at the same exact price. Again, this is a restaurant its not a fast food Chinese food spot, and theyre prices reflect that of what you would expect to have fresh food prepared.

WaBa Grill
1194 Grand Ave, Diamond Bar, CA 91765, United States
Not even giving it one star as it doesnt deserve it. I picked up food yesterday evening and discovered all the rice was mainly un-cooked. I went back to the store to return. The associates couldnt refund the money because they dont know how to do it! They told me the manager Christina would be there the next day and refund my money.Today I wasted another trip to the restaurant as the manager again wasnt there and that I could meet her tomorrow. They wanted me to give them the receipt and they would refund my money. I told them NO that this was the only way I had proof of purchase. I dont blame the kids working there as they are only doing what they are told by the horrible management. I like eating at Waba Grill but I will NEVER order food from there again! Its ridiculous that they dont train the associates to return money to a paying customer. Putting this in Yelp too! Remember its Christina the managers fault, they asked for my number so they could call me but wouldnt give me her number! Cowards!P.S. had to give it one star to post but they dont even deserve that!

We are very DISAPPOINTED. ?Before pandemic, our experience here was good. Like 75-85 points out of ?. The services were good, the broth was not bad, the sauce was good, and the meat quality was great!Unfortunately, this time it was only 55 points out of ?. The services were poor, the broth was very so so and salty, the sauce was very salty, and the meat quality was good. The meat was the only reason why it ended up to 55 points. Or else, I might give it 30 points. For sure, we will NOT revisit.I had eaten here before the epidemic and thought this restaurant was pretty good?? The meat is delicious and delicious, the soup is not bad, the service is good, and the dipping sauce is also good.Unexpectedly, after three years, the only advantage left is that the meat is of good quality. The score plummeted from 75-85 to 55. I will not visit again.1. The soup is too salty, and the tonkotsu tastes like the quality of the central kitchen rather than the big bone soup made by the kitchen itself.2. The two dipping sauces were too salty and had no flavor-enhancing effect at all. I really couldn't eat them after a few bites and gave up eating them completely.3. The service is very poor, almost no service at all. They gave us a tablet, told us a few words, and then completely let us go. They didnt care if there were any problems with our ordering system, and they didnt give us water. After we all finished selecting our dishes, we took the initiative to find the waiter and asked why the order could not be delivered. We had to ask for water before they knew they would give us water... After the dishes were served, they didnt even ask if they needed anything until we checked out and left.4. The meat quality is still good...the only advantage. If the meat wasnt so delicious, I might only give it 30 points...

All the species in this dish are well balanced ; the Beef Chowing is wonderfully cooked with tasty flavour . Tasty XiAn has so many traditional dishes that are unique and no other restaurants offer . It is famous for its lamb dishes like the home style pork Rouburge . It also provides home style dumplings that I can cook at home . What a wonderful experience in visiting the Tasty XiAn . Most of all, All the dishes are reasonably priced .

Basil And Co
23545 Palomino Dr Ste F, Diamond Bar, CA 91765, United States
I called to make a reservation for two adults and one child for 7pm on a busy Monday night. We drove to the address and found Basil and Co located in a small strip mall. I love the design of their outdoor sign. Its simple, modern, and easy to see at night with the lighting. The restaurant is very clean and organized both inside and outdoors. Parking was easy to find. We arrived 10 minutes early and it took about 15 minutes for us to be seated, so right on time! The hostess welcomed us in. She was friendly, yet seemed a little overwhelmed with how busy it was as the restaurant was completely packed. I used to be a hostess at the most popular Thai restaurant in Washington state with waits being about 30 to 45 minutes on average, so I can empathize. The eight or so customers in line were understanding and patient as we all waited to be seated. When theres a line at a restaurant, thats always a good sign! The owner Calvin took our order. We ordered the following:1. Tom Yum Soup (appetizer size)2. Yellow Pumpkin Curry with soft tofu3. Pad Thai with fried tofu, no spicy4. Thai Iced Tea5. Fresh CoconutThe service was prompt and we got our food quickly. The Yellow Pumpkin Curry came out first. It was hot and really rich with flavor. There were a few large soft chunks of pumpkin, and the curry had a tiny spicy kick to it. Id never had a pumpkin curry before so that was something different I wanted to try, and wasnt disappointed. A large amount of rice came with the dish, which was nice. The Tom Yum Soup arrived and it was room temperature; I didnt want to be a bother and ask for a replacement so I just drank it. It was delicious aside from it being cold. Im assuming perhaps the soups were poured into the small bowls to get ready for the dinner rush? But like I said, it was really good and flavorful, with a nice spicy kick to it that I enjoyed. The Pad Thai was delicious. It had tons of bean sprouts and crisp long-cut green onion that made the dish taste incredibly fresh, with lots of crunch to every bite. The fried tofu was hot, fresh, and the perfect bite size. The dish has the standard pad thai flavor and was great. We shared it between two adults and a toddler and had a little bit left over to bring home. The Thai Tea was great: the perfect blend of thai tea, cream, and ice.The Fresh Coconut beverage was nice cold and refeshing drink. They even provide you with a large spoon so you can scoop out the coconut flesh after drinking the coconut water.Towards the end of our meal, one of the employees who was either a cook, busser, or another waiter, came to our table and offered my toddler a Halloween-themed Kit Kat bar which was really awesome! It made her evening, being a small child sitting at a busy restaurant. I even got a Kit Kat for myself. That was so nice of him. What great customer care and personal touch. Before we got our checks, even the owner Calvin came by our table to ask us how our meal was. He gave us the history of the restaurant and we enjoyed listening to his How I Built This story. The restaurant followed COVID protocol with masking. There was both indoor and outdoor seating available, as well as takeout. We would definitely like to come back again next time were in the area and recommend it to our friends and fellow Yelpers!

Fusion 2 Any 1 Sushi & Roll
1261 S Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765, United States
I happened to stumble upon this place by chance - I was supposed to meet a friend from out of town who was delayed. I was super hungry and saw that Fusion 2 Any 1 was in the same shopping plaza as the Its A Grind coffee house that was our rendezvous point. This is one of those moments when you feel as if youve found a gem. As a city boy, Im used to higher prices and smaller portions (and lower quality, in some cases). And AYCE sushi always leaves me wary, especially buffet style. However, my expectations were upended in the most awesome way. The lunchtime price of $24 bucks gets you satisfying made-to-order AYCE sushi. With a drink included. And ice cream. !!!My order consisted of a spicy 4-piece Tokyo Roll, an 8-piece Unagi roll, an 8-piece spicy tuna roll, 2 pieces of tuna sushi, and 2 pieces of Unagi sushi. The Tokyo had a nice kick to it though the fish on top was a little dry. The spicy tuna roll was PACKED with fish; the most Id ever seen. The Unagi roll and sushi were tasty and generously sized. Lesser places have eel that tastes off - like dirty water - and drown the eel in sauce. Here, the eel was tender, mild, and just darn good. The tuna sushi was decent, too. A la carte, these items would total about $40.The service was just fall-over-oneself wonderful. Seriously. It was almost too much! The sushi chefs and servers greet everyone as they come in. And two people ended up taking care of me while I was there sitting at the bar. They were so attentive, polite, and professional. Really, everyone was so nice. This review is from an uncrowded weekend lunch experience. But between the solid sushi, extremely polite and welcoming staff, and fantastic AYCE quality-for-the-price that includes a soda and ice cream, a 5-star rating is a no-brainer. Im rarely ever (never?) In San Dimas, but if you find yourself here or are in neighboring areas looking for a good AYCE sushi place, this place is definitely worth trying.

H Mart Diamond Bar
2825 S Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765, United States
I never thought I would say this, but HMart doesnt sell high quality foods anymore. I understand that times are tough and the recession and inflation is really causing prices for something as cheap as lettuce (used to be) to double in price! But they have been having really bad produce for the last 5 months. Im not really sure what it is, do the farms they source have a contamination problem or their warehouse, but Ive been getting a particular kind of mold infestation. I thought it was strange that all the vegetables I buy from them start molding in the middle (inside, like the heart of the lettuce) and it happens really fast! Spinach used to last a long time but it molds in a week when purchased here! The green and red lettuce as well. How can I tell? I went to a Food4Less on the way home from work near Pomona, bought a green lettuce and its been weeks, its still okay! No weird middle mold. Today, I bought some Thai basil, and 1/3rd of it already has diseased leaves! Theyre literally passing this on to customers, bundle of the Thai basil is now $3.72.... Im paying for dead vegetables. And I have been losing so much money having to throw all the vegetables away. Its kind of infuriating, because that means Id have to constantly go back to a market or make more trips. Working full time, I have to shop on the weekend, so that line to check out is a big nightmare on Friday-Sunday. Like WOW, theres so many people... And only 4-6 checkout lines for a super HMart (a few only designated for debit/credit cards only). Until they have better quality control, I will not be buying vegetables here anymore. Maybe the meat for Korean style food, the rice cakes, which I freeze anyway, packaged sealed products, and kimchi.

Albertsons
1235 S Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765, United States
5 starI love this Albertsons store! Friendly employees and good customer service! Prices can be expensive but I use their rewards program which saves me a lot of money! They have fresh veggies and fruits and they even have a section of Organic veggies!Highly reccomend this place if you are looking for fresh foods!December 14 2022 (Updated Review)2 starsI come to this Albertson store every week and they sometimes have foods that are a great price. I just visited Albertson today and I wanted to buy a pack of bagels that was already due today. Usually when it is due today, they would offer a discount. I asked one of the ladies working at the Bakery section and she says that I have to talk to the manager. I tried looking for their manager but I could not find her. I asked the cashier for the discount but again, she told me to ask the bakery department. I asked three other employees but they said that they need to like scan the item first which they cannot do right now. They litterly have like 4 packs of bagels that was due yesterday. Why cant you even put a sticker?I also noticed that they have a 50% markdown section for frozen food. They have a CPK pizza that was marked down and I noticed that the expiration date was DUE A MONTH AGO! I told a guy about it and he said he was going to throw it away. I came back to the store a week later AND IT WAS STILL THERE! They really need to do something about this.
