Pineapple Village

I eat here somewhat regularly and enjoy the food. Is it the best Asian fusion Ive ever eaten? No, but its pretty darn good and some dishes, including the pineapple chicken and yam fries, really hit the spot. The menu is also very vegetarian and vegan friendly. The service here is not perfect, but they are also doing a very good job while being understaffed due to COVID. Lastly, Id say the menu is very affordable compared to similar restaurants in the area.

TeaLeaf

I was looking forward to a new tea spot in Gilroy, but was quite disappointed. This little cafe has a lot of potential with cute interior and great tasting teas. I have yet to try their food and not sure I will get around to that. While I understand this is their soft opening, they are completely lacking in customer service! Not one employee greeted customers or at the very least smiled at any given time. No social or people skills at all. Appeared that a lot of family was there at the tables maybe for moral support, but really just talking amongst themselves and the employees which was a little off putting. I felt really bad watching customers walk in and out as just a number. For such a new business, I just thought they would've put more effort in gaining and keeping customers. Not the most welcoming environment. Felt really disconnected with little to be desired when I left.

This is an interesting Asian restaurant that popped up in my Google search near Gilroy high School. It had both Thai food and Vietnamese food. My Saigon special pho was a delicious fusion with coconut milk. The pad Thai was great and my autistic son enjoyed the barbecue pork with rice. The fried calamari was not what we were used to, but it was okay.

Super Taqueria Restaurant
6951 Monterey Hwy, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
I was wrong. To quote the great Michael Scott, it takes a big man to admit his mistakes, and Im that big man. My friend tried to tell me that no taqueria can beat Super Taqueria. I told him he was wrong, which in hindsight seems crazy. How could any normal taqueria beat a super taqueria? Thats like if Mario beat Super Mario...its not going to happen. If only my foresight saw my hindsight, then my current sight would have been clear. I had recently tried a taqueria and was convinced it was the best ever. I made my friend try it too and while he liked it, he still informed me that it wasnt better than Super Taqueria. I hadnt tried Super Taqueria for a while, but I was still convinced that he had no idea what he was talking about.A week later we decided to get Super Taqueria. I was wary, but still tried to come in with an open mind. My open mind ended up turning into a blown mind. The food was insanely good. I got a burrito and nachos. There must have been 10 avocados worth of guacamole with the burrito and nachos. It was at that point that I realized I was wrong. As much as I hated being wrong, it was impossible to deny the greatness of Super Taqueria. Its my new favorite taqueria.

Alehouse & Bistro
707 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
Dropped in after car shopping for a quick bite during lunch hours. Place wasn't very busy. Maybe two other patrons at the time. We were greeted quickly, given napkins, silverware, menus, and water within the first two minutes of arriving. The waitstaff were patient and friendly. Everything appeared clean and ready for business. They have two non-gender, single person restrooms available. Both were spacious and clean. There is a patio area available should you choose to enjoy the Gilroy sunshine. The menus have a lot of choices available. You can check out their food offerings online at their website. Their drink menus are also vast in offerings. They have a mixed cocktail menu as well as a tap list that includes draft and can options.I've railed on this during other reviews and this probably won't be the last time I do so; but since the pandemic, food prices have increased while portion size has decreased. It's my only complaint about Alehouse and Bistro and to be fair, it's my complaint about damn near anywhere lately. With the economy being as tough as it is right now, coupled with the ridiculous gas prices, there really isn't much money left in people's wallets for disposable income, meaning less and less people are opting to go out for meals and drinks, or at the very least, less often. Otherwise, our visit was nice. The food was good, but for the price and serving size, there's no way it could've been worth it. For those curious, we ordered Wagyu Sliders (2 for $18) and Guac and chips ($8 for a small portion of guac and a si gel serving of chips).

Culichis Urban Kitchen

This place is fantastic! The portions are generous and well-served. Im visiting the area for work, and after reading their reviews, I decided to give them a try. For lunch, I ordered the Aguachile Mango & Habanero, Aguachile Tamarindo, and Aguachile Divorciado for $24.99. It was the best ceviche-like dish Ive ever had! (If you enjoy spicy food that makes you cry, this is the dish for you! ??) I also had a Baja taco, which was excellent as well. I loved my lunch so much that I came back for dinner! For dinner, I dined in and had the M.O.C Roll for $18. It was incredibly fresh and tasty! Also had the Spicy Edamames $10 it was a huge portion and tasted amazing! The atmosphere was lively and fun, especially with the live DJ they had on Friday night. The customer service was outstanding, from our waiter Andres to one of the owners, Ashley, who checked in to see how our experience was going. She was so genuine and made me feel very welcome. I will definitely be dining here for the rest of my stay this weekend!2nd day here and still maintains its 5-star review from yesterday! I had lunch & dinner again. Lunch was Salmoncito Hot & salsa. Dinner was to go and it was the Fajita Trio.3rd day here and sad its my last! The service was by far the best Ive received in my travels. Andres is a great waiter! Today I had lunch to go & dinner with salsa & chips ?

First of all I want to start by saying that I regret not have seen Any reviews before but instead I got hooked on just one Instagram post.Apparently they pay the trip advisors well because they have done a good job on their posts. In my opinion, those Instagram and TikTok posts are extremely good for what the place, the service and their food really are.I just want to suggest you to take some time and see the reviews on Google first and dont be dazzled by the exaggerated posts on social networks. If you ask me what were the reasons for leaving this review, here are some:-Starting with the delay in simply sitting us, taking our order, getting the drinks and getting the food witch took the longest; about 20 minutes without exaggeration.-The attitude of the waitress/hostess/food runner/busser/bar tender etc. I mean the same person for everything (because there was only one for the entire restaurant) and I imagine that the other person who was seen there sporadically was the manager or owner who even had a terrible attitude.-Most of the chairs we had, had nails sticking out and one of us got stung by one of them (we were 4 people and three of the chairs were bad). The creativity of having chairs made of pallets is appreciated but at least they should be have the delicacy to inspect them periodically.-We asked the waitress if she could lower the volume of the TV because the speakers were blasting garbage reggeton music and the answer she gave us was that we decided to move to that table and that they had no way to lower the volume; By the way, yes, we did decide to move because they had given us a table in a dark corner near the bathrooms. The food: wow, it was the biggest disappointment because weeks ago I had come across a post about an incredible place with seafood and delicious things Apparently and it turns out that it was just the magic and creativity of someone who made an effort to make them several exaggerated posts for social media.-the prices are not cheap at all for the quality of their meals, (and I am not a person who complains about the costs of food in restaurants, much less when the food is delicious, but this was not the case)-Finally, among the most important, just as they took time for everything, they also took their sweet time to give us the bill, (didnt happen) so thats why I had to get up and go to the register and ask for my bill; Immediately afterwards, the same person, the whole time multi task girl was entering everything into her register and she was charging me for 2 more micheladas and two sodas, I told her that we had only drunk two and she told me very coldly, Oh, so I didnt charge them to the other table continued entering more things and she only told me:Its $156.00. she didnt give me my bill for what we consumed, I immediately swiped my card and instinctively as a good consumer I put the 18% tip on it. she still didnt give me my bill for consumption and she said ok, thank you, so I asked her for my bill to check that she charged me correctly for what we consumed, she printed it out, gave it to me and I left, because my family was already outside (Well, they didnt want to be there any longer), outside in my vehicle I saw the receipt and I realized that THEY HAD ALREADY INCLUDED THE 20% GRATITUDE IN MY BILL.So I gave them 20%, which automatically was included plus 18% (because I didnt realize it before because I didnt physically have a receipt). So I ended up giving them 38% Gratitude for a horrendous service and very unpleasant food quality.YOURE WELCOME LOS JUNIORS MARISCOSAnd thank you for deceiving us with your well-paid posts on social media but something I know for sure:I WILL NEVER COME BACK AGAIN IN MY LIFE.
