TORO Grillhouse
514 W Colorado St, Glendale, CA 91204, United States
This place is amazing!! My son told me that the best burger he has ever had was here so we decided to order delivery last night. My family all ordered different things, burgers, burritos, the torta, and other items. When it came, the fries were still hot, which never happens at other places. The first bite of the breakfast burrito was amazing and caused me not to share. Luckily, my wife let me try her beef burrito and I found it even better. The fries were great, the torta was great, the quesadilla was great, and my son got the same cream cheese burger that he believes to be the best he has ever had… and we have had a lot of burgers. Amazing job Toro team, and thank you for the best food we have had in a very long time.
Zono Sushi
139 N Artsakh Ave, Glendale, CA 91206, United States
Long time coming (because we are REGULARS) so bear with me. This is regarding the SERVICE ONLY and specifically with the older Asian waitress. She's ALWAYS in a rush no matter what time or day you go. She doesn't let you finish your sentences before she starts running away. And because she runs away, she makes the ordering process longer because we can only ask her for ONE thing at a time. BECAUSE SHE RUN AWAY & DOESNT LET YOU FINISH ORDERING . Saturday we went & inside was 3-4 families already, felt very stuffy as though there was no oxygen circulating. I figured they didn't have the AC on so we decided to sit outside because it was hard for me to breathe inside. I asked the male waiter if it's ok to sit outside, and he said yes of course anywhere you like. After the 2nd time coming to our table, the Asian waitress lady stated very frantically that her arms were so tired from pushing the door open/close to come outside to wait on OUR table. I was like okay sorry? Third time around she came MORE FRANTIC, literally running towards us, she shoved the Pepsi cup in front of us and threw the straw saying “it's so busy, I'm so busy!!! They're calling me!!! EVERYONE is calling me!!”. And ran off. The Pepsi had spilled everywhere and made a mess. She had brought the food before that but no utensils/straws for the waters. And when I tell you I had no chance to get 2 words in because she threw things on our table and ran off. We sat there staring at our food because we had no utensils, no napkins to clean the table after she threw my Pepsi on the table. (She even saw that she spilled it & made a mess but didn't even care an ounce). She then no longer came to our table & instead sent the male waiter to take care of us. I have never in my life experienced such bad customer service from someone. How can you in the slightest tell a customer where to sit when your restaurant is super small and not that busy?? Plus we were told to sit wherever we like. How can you be so rude & acting like it's the end of the world because there's 8 people dinning there? She literally told us she has no time to breathe or drink water. Like what??? Lady, you're not working at the Cheesecake Factory. CALM DOWN and stop acting so extra. Very rude and insulting. We come here once, sometimes twice a week almost EVERY week. I'm sorry to say that I won't be returning here anymore. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. She's too much and I can't handle her. I go out to eat because I want to relax with my husband. Not be stressed out by her.Sad to say that the restaurant will lose business because of her. There's more things I want to say but it's already an essay so I'll leave it at that. By the way, the male waiter is excellent,100/100.
Thai Me Upp
818 N Pacific Ave Suite D, Glendale, CA 91203, United States
Love me some great Thai food!We were in the mood to have some coconut soup so we decided to try this place out. They have a pretty decent size parking structure that they share with other businesses so you wont have a problem parking. However if you want to use the restroom, you have to exit the restaurant with a key that they provide and its located outside the restaurant, corner of the plaza. Its not the most clean place so dont expect to have 5 star treatment. When we arrived there table next to us was still dirty from the previous customers and it took them a while to clean it. Our table also had some crumbs on it as well which we asked to be cleaned again.Right when we sat down we ordered: Devil Wings as appetizer, one big order of Tom Kha with chicken and one Pad See Ew with no meat, just veggies.Which we waited they brought out complimentary shrimp skin which was oily but good. Not long after our food arrived. The Devil Wings were amazing!! They came with a side of Brussels sprouts and cauliflowers around it which was incredibly delicious. The wings themselves were very juicy and meaty. So amazing. The Tom Kha was wonderful as well. The broth was very delicious and coconuty. There was a lot of chicken in there, more than it shouldve been. But it still gave it a nice flavor. We ended up leaving a huge chuck of chicken leftover since there was too much of it in there. Lastly, the Pan See Ew with veggies. This was also great. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the veggies were nicely steamed and they came the dish a beautiful color.Overall the food was amazing, if you can overlook the fact that the bathroom is located outside of the restaurant and the fact that its not super clean its a pretty decent place to grab a quick lunch or dinner.
Pad Thai bistro
730 S Central Ave #104, Glendale, CA 91204, United States
They are THIEVES. Picked up to go order, selected no tip on the iPad. Few days later, checked my statement, and they sneakily added 18% tip. When I called them, they weren't surprised at all, meaning this is their MO, and this time someone called them out on it. Add insult to injury, they asked if I wanted money back or credit the next time I ordered there. Man, you tried to STEAL from me. BEWARE.
Gam Tu Bop
132 N Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA 91203, United States
I have been coming to Gam Tu Bop for several years now. Before 2020. I was in 3 times this week alone. Everything is great usually when it comes to the food. Always delicious & always very filling. The only small complaint I did have on my most recent visit this week was that some of the rice balls were significantly smaller & did not have very much filling. I had 4 of the crab & 2 of them were significantly lacking crab. They were more rice & I have never experienced that before. Other than that they have even improved on the wait time. Previously it would take around 20-30 minutes easily to get an order out. Recently I have been pleasantly surprised by the prompt fulfillment of the orders.

Kalinka Russian Cuisine

I want to warn anyone planning to dine here: find another place. There is a significant risk of food poisoning. I brought my friend to try Russian food, and it was a major disappointment. Everything looked unappetizing. We ordered fish soup, blintzes with chicken, potatoes with mushrooms, and some dessert. The food was excessively salty, the coleslaw was bland, and the bread was not fresh. The dessert was not only old but tasted like frozen rotten crepes. As someone familiar with Russian cuisine, I can tell you this place misrepresents it. The waiters were friendly, but one didnt speak the language, making it hard for my friend to order. Additionally, the staff needs substantial training. After dining here, I experienced severe stomach pain and ended up with food poisoning. Im writing this review from bed, recovering from that lunch.
ROCKBIRD
1147 E Colorado St, Glendale, CA 91205, United States
WOW. I am blown away by this place! I truly hope people consider trying this place when faced with other chicken sandwiches places at their disposal. This restaurant really knows what they're doing!First off, the customer service was fantastic! We were greeted, given an explanation of the menu, and the staff suggestions. We ultimately went with the Fried Nitro Bird sandwich and Spicy Tenders with honey mustard, ranch, and Habanero Buffalo sauces on the side (but we struggled making a decision, they all sounded so good). The Fried Nitro Bird sandwich was PHENOMENAL. It was so tasty without the heat overpowering the flavors. Some places you go are all about heat, and you don't truly taste the flavors and spices that are thought out for the food. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE! The flavors tied in so well together and we didn't dip the sandwich in any extra sauce once! The tenders were so moist and tender, not a single ounce of dryness to taste. They were so nice to give us a side of the sweet chili sauce to try (their signature sauce, I believe?) and it was delightful. The habanero Buffalo was our second favorite. It wasn't too spicy, but definitely flavorful.Highly recommend this place to all!
The Black Cow
2219 Honolulu Ave, Glendale, CA 91020, United States
We recently had lunch with friends at the Black Cow Cafe in Montrose, CA, and it was a delightful experience. This cozy eatery boasts a comforting atmosphere that feels like a warm embrace, perfectly complemented by the down-to-earth and friendly folks who populate the place. We stopped by for lunch after exploring the nearby Descanso Gardens, and the menu presented a fusion of good old American breakfast classics with a dash of Mexican and California flair. The choices ranged from classic Egg Benedict to hearty quesadillas and burritos.I opted for the Egg Benedict, and I must say it was outstanding. The eggs were perfectly prepared, and the sauce was a symphony of flavors that elevated the dish to another level. The quesadilla, with its tasty chicken filling and crispy tortilla shell, was equally fantastic, making it a must-try.For those looking for a healthier option, the grilled salmon with fruit salad was a decent choice. While not as remarkable as the Egg Benedict or quesadilla, it still provided a satisfying and lighter alternative. The service at Black Cow Cafe was commendable. Our waiter was attentive and enthusiastic, adding a personal touch to our dining experience. The restaurants vibe is cool and inviting, with folksy decorations that create a charming and rustic ambiance. In summary, Black Cow Cafe in Montrose, CA, offers a delightful combination of comfort food and friendly service. Its a perfect spot to enjoy a scrumptious American breakfast with a twist or savor some Mexican and California-inspired dishes. Whether youre visiting after a trip to Descanso Gardens or simply looking for a cozy meal, this cafe is sure to leave you with a smile and a satisfied palate.

Spice Season (Glendale)
209 W Wilson Ave, Glendale, CA 91203, United States
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in Glendale, period. The dishes are pretty unique and there is a fusion of different Asian cuisine. You can definitely find the traditional stuff here like Pad Thai, but I definitely encourage people to try the spicy basil and the drunken noodle which we had and were both super excellent. Ill be honest is fantastic, its quaint and yet modern. The service was outstanding and really tried to hear our requests, because we did have a very special request to have food extra soft because of a jaw issue, and they created the dish as requested, perfectly. Thank you Spice Season!
