Bonchon Sunnyvale

Spicy chicken and Asian-American fusion. You will get a southern taste too, which is their philosophy actually based on. This is another restaurant where you need to try the different sides different times - specially the Kim chi Coleslaw and Seasoned Fried which are their specialties too. Also, had one of the best noodle soup here; they call it something like Udon, which is super tasty if you take it hot. Also, this place grew my appetite and interest to Korean dishes and their own style of fowl roasting.

We ordered take out for dinner.Chicken lollipop: Were large in size and had good amount of masalaChicken noodles: Tasted good. Had great wok flavor. However were a little bit on the dry side. We added the sauce given by them to it.Jhol momo: They had real chicken meat. Usually other places have meat of the wings and other filler meat but not here. The only down side was the momo outer coating was very thick.Chicken roll: Diced chicken cubes rolled in a maida roti and egg.Time of visit: DinnerAmbience: They have a couple tables setup. But I believe it is a common location for the three food trucks sharing the space.Quantity: Generous. We got extra rolls for free for a long wait timeParking: There are 5 parking spots. If you visit after the shops in the location are closed youll find additional parking.Times visited: 5New edit: The app that used to offer prices equal to the menu dispayed on the food truck has been discontinued. If you still want to get the same prices call thier number and get a text message with a link to order at lower prices compared to Doordash.Tip 1: If you like spicy food order their szechuan entrees.Tip 2: Order online from their website to get accurate wait times for carry outs. Usually it is a 45 min wait during a normal day if you have a large order.

Seapot Hot Pot & Bar
740 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087, United States
This restaurant is a perfect example of bad management. The place has been steadily declining since it opened, and its clearly showing where the issue is.Staff - young, eager to please and polite, but not trained. Our waiter was nice, helpful and easy to communicate with, when he was available.Sat us ealked away, 5 min later took our orders, 1 min later we got our broths, 5 min later our meats, then gone... checked on us once in 1 hour, and when I asked for the check by flagging him down early, he then dissappeared for 20 min... 20 min, of my card sitting at the edge of the table while I, like a student in grade school, waved my arm in the air asking for permission to pay.Food - All the items were good. Nothing special, nothing amazing, but good. Meats are unlimited but portions are tiny, so when we order, we order alot, and since you can only get more by re-ordering through your server good luck!Drinks - We and the table next to us ordered soft drinks, which i could immediately tell came from a soda machine. The machines carbonator was obviously. either of our charge or broken, as both of our drinks and the table next to us were served a flat overly sweet soda. At $3 each this isnt acceptable to serve in a restaurant at nearly $40 a person for lunch/dinner.Atmosphere - You can tell they are going for fun and modern with a kitchy old world atmosphere of Gothic meets korean kawaii. The looks are fine. Nothing really that amazing to look at but it feels nicd to see the different points they added... except the fire steam gimmick. Its cool from a distance but up close its laden with controls and tape repairs which make it feel cheap and out of place.Which brings me to my big issue with the atmosphere. Its loud. Not oh i wish it was more quiet loud, loud as in there are multiple speaker systems playing independently of one another. 2 songs, one for each ear left and right playing at the same time and volume. Its almost nauseating.Would i come back?, for now yes, but if improvements arent made soon that answer will change. I could see the look on each tables face as they left and most left much more upset looking then when they came. I would not be suprised if in 2 years this place was simply gone.

Top Dumpling
United States, California, Sunnyvale, W El Camino Real, 邮政编码: 94087
Are Top Dumpling, Noodle Talk, and Moomo owned by the same people? Top Dumplings metal chopsticks and to-go bags say Noodle Talk on them, and there are QR codes to order Moomo.Xiao Long Bao - too salty and weirdly come with red vinegar instead of black (though theres black vinegar at the table they put the julienned ginger into the red vinegar, contaminating them). At least theyre not sweet. 2.5/5San Jin Bao - too hard on the bottom, too soggy on the inside. Again, at least they arent sweet. 2/5Pork and tofu bao - not what I was expecting. Tastes sweet like cha shu bao with firm tofu cubes. I really miss FFYs shrimp and silken tofu dumplings and bao (and everything else on their menu). 1/5Beef roll - way too much hoisin sauce, making it too sweet. Weirdly heated the cold cuts and raw vegetables inside. Makes me concerned its microwaved. Yet this took the longest, not arriving until we had already finished the other dishes and were nursing our tea for lack of anything better to do while waiting since it was too loud to have a conversation. 1.5/5The tea (chrysanthemum, my favorite) was the best part of the meal, albeit expensive for a small pot ($9), especially for teabag tea and not whole flower tea. 3/5There wasnt much interaction with servers as you order online even when dining in. The person delivering food tipped over my water, caught it by putting his fingers inside my cup, and didnt even offer to replace it.I didnt like how there was old, moldy food stuck in the slats of the table, or how crowded it was both in the restaurant and the parking lot, or the fact that it was full of screaming children.I dont understand why its so busy. The quality of the food was not high enough to make up for the cleanliness, noise, claustrophobia, or parking imho. I prefer the XLB at Din Ding or the new Imperial Treasure. Also, I was not given the accessible/handicap table and ended up boxed in by the people who were seated at the accessible table after us, making it hard for me to maneuver and exit with my cane. Even if I had been seated there, there was not a lot of room around that table either.

Pints of Joy
717 E El Camino Real #6, Sunnyvale, CA 94087, United States
This place was such a delight. The man helping behind the counter was so excited to share the ice cream with me that he let me taste at least seven flavors! The flavors were unique, subtle, and creamy with a nice texture. Both mango flavors were great and tasted like perfect ripe mangoes of the tree. The blueberry lavender was calming and creamy and avoided tasty soapy like so many lavender ice creams do. It was very sweet so just a little will do. The fig and walnut was the first ice cream that I have ever tried that captured the delight of a fresh fig. The pistachio kulfi flavor is one I have been chasing for years after the Persian ice cream sandwich shop in San Jose closed. I really appreciated that they had four non dairy flavors to choose from, and that all their ice cream is eggless. While some of the non dairy flavors are more like sorbets, others are very creamy and do not have a coconut flavor or iciness the way some vegan ice creams do.It wasn't as expensive as Salt and Straw or Humphrey Slocombe and I appreciated the option for a split scoop so I could have two flavors. While I was there a wide range of families stopped in, it was clear that the place is popular. I was tempted by the Coldstone down the block on my way, and am so glad I came here instead. Give it a try, you won't be sorry. :)
