Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
660 Ventura Blvd, Camarillo, CA 93010, United States
Pick Up Stix appears to have gone through many reinventions over the years and version 2021 is just not very good.I assume the Pad Thai was missing peanuts as an error but overall the sauces just werent very good. I did get a side of teriyaki sauce as I anticipated that I may need to add an extra flavor and that was not good either. Everything seems to be vinegar based and unlike the competition PuS (unfortunate abreviation) just have inferior flavor profiles & sauces. Panda Express can have consistency issues but arguably their teriyaki sauce is good enough to cover up many sins! PuS sauces add nothing, only detract and add a flavor that is not so nice.May have been unlucky with my menu choice but nothing about it gives me any desire to go back!
Apey Kade Restaurant
19662 Ventura Blvd, Tarzana, CA 91356, United States
I had been wanting to try this place for a long time, and Im so happy I finally got to. Id never had Sri Lankan food, and it was different from anything Ive ever had before. The flavors are indescribable, and incredible. Everything tasted fresh. My expectations were high, and they were still exceeded by a marathon. I dont have the words to describe how stunning the food was. I had the vegetable hopper. It was a plate of noodles and a spicy vegetable salad (? Im not sure what it would be called but it was good), with three side dishes to put on the noodles- a coconut soup, a green-bean vegetable dish, and a squash curry. I went with my dad, and he ordered the same as I did, but his came with a dahl- like food instead of squash. I think its really cool how you can order the same thing and still get some variation, while also being able to have confidence that everything is delicious- my dad and I shared our side dishes, so I can confirm that the dahl was amazing. The people running the restaurant were helpful and kind, and the inside of the restaurant while small was impeccably clean. The food was quite spicy, which I loved, but if you dont like spicy food you might not like it as much. The spice is different from other spicy foods that Ive had, though, so if theres just a particular brand of spice that you dislike, you should still give this a try. Also, its a vegetarian-friendly place, which is always lovely to find.

Very good asian fusion restaurant. I like their fresh coconut juice and chicken cashew with jicama. The server was really nice and helpful.

GO, GO, GO... IT IS SO Good!. This is among the top 3 food experiences of my life. I felt closer to God in appreciation of their food. If you are not into alternative spicy food, just try it and go here to be happy you experienced something different and amazing. This guy has no idea how good the food is, It is EXCEPTIONAL!!! This kitschy, semi-tacky, but youre still curious experience is the 2nd best meal I have ever eaten in my life; It only compares to a 12-course meal dining with members of the Jordanian Royal family in a private dining room in the most exclusive restaurant in Jordan and the first time I had Blue Fin Toro moves to #3 . I am that serious!!!I am an eco, local supporting foodie who cooks better than most restaurants... Im that good and I live in Los Angeles. Get to this place as fast you can for a divine culinary unique experience before he moves and has a 6-month waiting list. The Pakoras with mango dip will send you to heaven (and I do not like mango fruit... how did he do it?).The excellent quality sushi with seaweed salad and cucumbers after the pakoras was a delightful sensation. Then, we went for the gluten-free momas with an amazing chili dip and the chef said he hadnt tried them yet so he hoped they would be good. They were fantastic and then we used that delectable chili sauce from that dish on top of our final round tapas style ordering of crispy tuna rice (we wanted to compare it to our local place at home). They knocked everything our of the park by miles. I want to live here just to enjoy their food several times a week. We ate the night before my birthday and had reservations for my birthday.someplace else. If I repeated this night for my birthday dinner, I would be ecstatic.

This place makes you want to like it. Inspired fusion options, and a funky flair that makes it seem like s hip place to try. Sadly, its all the worst cliches of a hole in the wall restaurant. The chef personally serves the guests with a reverence for the food he has made. Unfortunately, he misses all the details, especially the ones that matter most. The cheese fries were stale, but the Korean beef on top saved it. The paper used underneath it, and for my burger, frustratingly melts upon contact with the grease of the food it is served in. The condiments were so old, it scares one to use them. The ramen burger was made with flavorless soggy noodles, and the burger patty was the only thing that tasted decent, though no better than a backyard bbq. I feel this place couldve been great had the chef only put in the effort to make it so. I even spent 10 minutes trying to coex him out of the kitchen so I could get a bill to pay. He ignored me, so I left my best guess as to what I owed based on my memory of the menu. I really tried to give this place every opportunity, but it deserves to fail if things dont change. I think it should be shuttered for health code violations.Reply to chef: You should look on the table. The only robbery here was your pricing for food that tasted like in came out of the garbage. My review was kind considering my pregnant wife is now sick with food poisoning. Your response shows you are a child, and your food shows youre a second rate line cook at best. Both my wife and I have worked in kitchens, her at the highest levels. We know our food and your ketchup and mustard looks about 12 years old, which is the only confirmation of the age of your eatery. Im not surprised you arent receptive to criticism, especially when it was ment to give you a wake up call to live up to the potential you have with this place.

I was absolutely blown away by this place. Was in town for a week and came back twice. I mean, seriously ... The green curry was absolutely the finest I have had in my entire life. I dont understand how food can be this delicious!Being a vegetarian, I was thrilled that the entire menu was an option for me, although I kept thinking they were going to come out and say that they somehow gave us real chicken because I have never had soy chicken taste THAT MUCH like real chicken.Frankly, it was so good that it makes me want to move to Sherman Oaks JUST to have this as an option every day. Its seriously that good.I keep seeing people on here mention the price. Im not rich, but I dont consider 13$ for a plate to be unreasonable ESPECIALLY when it tastes like the food of the Gods.Service was pretty friendly too. The first time I went, there was a small problem with our order (I didnt get the soy chicken and my friend asked for quinoi and got rice), but they were very diligent in fixing it. Mistakes happen and Im not going to knock off a star over it.Phenomenal place. HIGHLY recommended (if you couldnt already tell)
Mais Cafe

So this is the worst place to go if you want pho. The pho itself is average, but they mess up the order frequently and don't give you any Hoysin sauce even when you ask to make sure it's in the bag when it's a to go order. The most recent order I placed is what made my husband and I say NO we'd rather drive to Oxnard just for pho. I placed a to go order on the phone for my husband to pick up when he gets out of work. I asked for shrimp and chicken pho and paid over the phone. My husband gets out of his 12 hour shift at CMH just to see they haven't even started the order yet when it's been 20+ minutes of ordering, and it wasn't even busy. So first they tell me they never got my paid phone order so I give them my card info again. My husband asks to make sure the correct sauces are included in the bag, they say yes. We get home, and it's beef and shrimp pho both in CHICKEN BROTH. NO sauce was included, just a bunch of bean sprouts. Not to mention, every time I place a to go order they literally point at the tip line on the receipt asking for one. Tip for what? The worst customer service ever? I've had bad customer service experiences with them multiple times, but This was the worst. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Do not go here.
WaBa Grill
4726 Telephone Rd Ste 1a, Ventura, CA 93003, United States
WaBa is about food organization as well as taste of chopped sources of health. Steak goes with my chicken, avocado from a deck of vegetables. The compact restaurant sells brown rice I hardly make on a superb day near Ventura's worn pier as it fills a plastic bowl with ridges to its reflected beauty of black colors, when outside patio is shaped like an L for dining yet two tables act like exact complements around workers in dark uniforms. Wide menu with delicacies and indoor booth has least seats on cuisine discoveries; when I mention the spacy grill to dining partners, a miracle happens. “WaBa, WaBa, WaBa.” I think of Pac-Man's ghost through saying WaBa a few times. Precise meals can be served on long changes in distinguished orders: chicken and steak, chicken or steak. Expect to pay beyond ten dollars for good sauce privileges unless you're a kid when hunger becomes a famed desire on a personal level. Dad may not always make a casual attempt to go up and over expectations when I look at my receipt's time in an external setting about the close outdoors. Environment lower in reflections is colorful with sunshine, in this case. Yes, there's nice sunshine in WaBa's building as it searches for grey objects in the nick of quick time, not to mention exclusive cash registers which portray the busy trend that absorbs itself out of a squeaky-clean place. WaBa in Ventura is in specific fortitude about the concrete suite because the sheer totality of demands is met with natural discernment upon various chapters of weather to occur in Ventura County with particular wind to yellow light, thus brave cooks are constantly in a nice kitchen's loop and curious workers inquire with me about WaBa Sauce. Sushi cuisine is beneath my thoughts however simple sliced chicken appears on a crinkled bed of soft rice, although favorites for steak should be in order at the WinCo plaza where WaBa takes dominance with Chuck E. Cheese's and Chick-fil-A. Honestly, cherished service at the sleek counter is accommodated by great principles of movement to their shuffling organization. Something talks back at me before I realize the motivated ambiance of enthused customers, but dining seems to be in a cloud that responds to its personal noise, even after chunks of meat are as sweet as the burnt candy you might get from a frying pan. Let's not get ahead of me on this: gusto for extreme shades of WaBa's presentation is kindled to rushed happiness as I'm lifted out of a blue mood, so my clothed hand to a worker's ignition of payment is in slow changes that families before mine didn't know prior to me and dad sitting in peaceful luxury on WaBa's standards of wild flavors in our beach town's vicinity. A chicken bowl with rich, brown sauce in déjà vu! Yum! I'm one-sided with my dad who prefers light coffee at McDonald's by the local Target plaza, still though I remind him of WaBa's illustration of chopping measures. A bowl at WaBa's is basically the side dish that keeps coming back to my taste buds in a daunting way, as assorted proteins get me going until I'm full of a kind of Japanese sensation; to inform readers about my restaurant adventures, styles of cooking from far away can transcend into important matters, and so WaBa's movement of slow changes goes along with their determined organization of judgmental workers who likely know the true values of immediate satisfaction. Meals can get near you if belief in them is fundamental to hunger. WaBa's menu is wide in the premises, although I must say that the variations of choices are figuratively slim to none without the nothing part. It's delicious, try them!

Came here with my family and my brother to celebrate my mothers 92nd birthday. The food and service were incredible. If you knew the famous Madame Wus restaurant this was the closest to them I have ever had. Also somewhat like PF Changs which is also a great Chinese restaurant. Joy was our waitress and the whole staff as well as the manager were very attentive and friendly. While sitting at our table looking the menu over the smells from the kitchen as they prepared other meals was a sign that this was going to be a great meal. We over ordered since we didnt realize what large portions they serve but were glad to try many of their different dishes and bring home leftovers. The Chinese chicken salad was superb and the Mongolian beef was out of this world delicious. So was the soups, appetizers and other dishes we ordered. Nice looking and clean restaurant too. I highly recommend going here when your in the mood for great Chinese food and friendly attentive service. As a side note, since 2 in our party are in wheelchairs, the elevator and easy access to this restaurant was a big plus too.
LA LA Sushi
12415 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, United States
My visit to this establishment was prompted by its advertising which boasted a Premium dining experience. However, what unfolded was a series of disappointments that starkly contrasted with their high-quality claims.Upon entering, I harbored high hopes for a culinary journey highlighted by exceptional dishes. Yet, the reality was a series of culinary missteps. The food, which was the centerpiece of my anticipation, failed to deliver on the advertised premium quality. The portions were oddly balanced, with an overwhelming amount of rice that seemed to have lost its freshness, overshadowing the scant servings of fish that were devoid of any distinctive flavors. This imbalance was evident across the board - from appetizers to rolls, and sushi, none managed to leave a memorable imprint. Particularly, the rolls seemed to rely heavily on California fillings, lacking any real fish content, and were topped with minimal fish portions that did not compensate for the overall lack of flavor. The sushi, albeit adorned with a reasonable size of fish, similarly failed to ignite the palate. Even the tempura, which I hoped would redeem the meal, was served lukewarm, further adding to the disappointment. The service did little to alleviate the growing sense of dissatisfaction. The near-empty restaurant could have been an opportunity for attentive, personalized service, yet what transpired was the opposite. Orders were not only slow to arrive, but the process of placing an order was also unnecessarily delayed as they refused to take new orders until the current ones had been fully prepared. This lack of efficiency was compounded by a disinterest in maintaining the dining area or addressing our needs proactively. An unfortunate incident involving a spilled water cup, which resulted in both the food and myself being doused, was handled with a surprising lack of professionalism. In their attempt to manage the spill, my phone was inadvertently thrown away with the trash, leading to a stressful retrieval process. The culmination of these service failures was their neglect to take our final round of orders, leaving us with the impression that our dining experience was of little importance. This dining experience was, unequivocally, one of the most disheartening all-you-can-eat sushi experiences I have ever encountered. The stark contrast between the advertised premium experience and the reality of what was delivered was jarring. The food lacked the quality and finesse I expected from a restaurant boasting such high standards, and the service deficiencies only amplified the overall disappointment. It became apparent that better quality sushi could indeed be found at a supermarket, offering more value and satisfaction than what was experienced here. Consequently, I am compelled to advise against dining at this establishment and will certainly not be returning. The memory of this visit serves as a reminder that premium advertising does not always equate to a premium experience.
