Boat House
150 Starfish Way, Crescent City, CA 95531, United States
We, 4 people, came to this restaurant last night. Restratunt owner Justin came to our table and explained their menus. They only purchase local produces and freshly caught seafood from the fish boats. We ordered sashimi and combo of steamed seafoods with garlic butter, and a seafood fried rice. They are all very delicious. The seafoods are noticeable fresh. The waitress is very friendly and responsive. Justin, the chef and the owner, said he and another two chefs (and owners) just opened this restaurant one month ago. They are all about 30 ish old, full of passion and love Crescent city. All three are Chinese and are good at Chinese and Japanese style cooking. Justin recommended we come again tomorrow for fresh Salmon fish dish. So we came back again the next day. Justin cooked a very special Chinese dish called red chili fish head using a full Salmon top half with head. It was just delicious!! We had this kind of dish in Taiwan but with the carp fish head. Salmon fish head is our first experience and the taste is better than carp to me. He also cooked a Chinese style chicken dish with chicken from a local free range Chicken farm. Great taste too. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We really wanted to love this food truck but it definitely missed the mark. I do feel like there's a lot of opportunity for growth here though. Our chicken was dry. The rice did have a “tap water” taste to it. Maybe try using filtered water or adding something like lime juice to the rice. The rice was nicely cooked and not dry at all. Some grilled veggies would be a nice addition along with Japanese white sauce. The sauces you already have are tasty. Good luck!

Came here for the first time and love it, drove from Brookings and the family was so nice that they separated all the food so it would stay as fresh as possible. They put all the sauce on the side for me to add later. We ordered one of everything on the menu so we can try everything they had for the day! I was not disappointed, the food was still warm after a 45min drive due to traffic. The cheese puffs are so delicious, loved the beef and broccoli. Had the orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken and the spicy chicken as well as the prawns. Thank you so much for accommodating us since we came right when they were closing for lunch. We truly appreciate your hospitality and understanding. Will definitely be back again for another round of this delicious meal.

The only Asian supermarket in town, so glad that they have at least one with a variety of your favorite Asian items thatll remind you of home. anytime i feel homesick for some good food Ill come to this store to get ingredients. fresh veggies varies on who provides for them so try to get them when they arrive so theyll stay fresher. so glad that they have the veggies that Im looking for because you cant find those in any other supermarkets. items are affordable and can rack up but worth it. owners are very nice and friendly downside is that theres very limited and narrow parking so drive carefully when you arrive

Really amazing restaurant.Great place to stop for a bite. The habanero cheese curds were incredible and an absolute must. I really wanted to try the calamari but we already ordered too much. The lemon drop was good, the pumpkin cheesecake was as well. I enjoyed the Asian salad and tacos. Would definitely recommend.

Ive eaten here a few times, whenever I am visiting Crescent City. Right now they are still observing covid precautions, so you can only get it via drive up / carryout. You dont even have to go inside. Just view the menu, call them and order, and someone comes out and gets your money. They bring the order out as soon as it is ready. Oddly, the guy who waited on me was not wearing a mask. I dont really see the point of having pick up only and servers not wearing a mask...On this visit I ordered shrimp broccoli from the specials menu. Specials are just a little smaller and cheaper, and he said on the phone it had less shrimp. My meal, however, had plenty of shrimp and tasted fine. The brown sauce is very good.I took off a point because the menu is not very vegetarian friendly. They offer tofu but it cost $2 extra. I wish more Asian restaurants would start offering tofu as an alternative protein in their dishes, like many vegetarian places do. It would also be nice to have more gluten-free options. They only have one dish with rice noodles instead of wheat.I did want to add, however, that the owner is very nice and the service here is very good. Its apparent they care about their customers and making them happy, and that is always a very nice thing in this day and age.If you are in the Crescent City area, this is really the best and only Asian place to eat. The other places Ive tried were not as good.
Fishermans Restaurant

Driving along the Rugged Gold Coast of Oregon and California is a treat that everyone needs to experience. Sometimes stopping at a beach or park takes longer than expected, delaying a traveller's schedule. This is what happened to us and fortunately, in our case, we arrived at a place where Fisherman's became our friend. They were one of very few restaurants open late, allowing us partake in local fare. Our arrival at Fisherman's was timely and fortunate as they were near closing. We were quickly and politely brought our menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Our drinks were brought out while we were choosing. My wife opted for a beef dip and I chose the club sandwich. It didn't take long before they came to us and that was a good thing as we were on the verge of “hangryness”.The beef dip sandwich was below par. The bread was tasty but it had only one slice of beef in it and although the gravy was also good, the quantity or quality did not reflect the price. It came with a side of coleslaw which was nice. It was cold and sweet the perfect amount of crunch! The triple-decker Club Sandwich on the other hand was as good as they come! All meats were flavourful and veggies extremely fresh! The tater tots were a treat. It's been at least five years since I'd had tater tots and these were fried to perfection! A different and perfect addition to the sandwich. The staff, especially our server was very friendly, helpful, polite and provided overall great service. We ended up being the last ones there and never felt rushed. The restaurant was clean and bright and displayed local decor.I'd like to go back and try their chowders and have another club.
